Scan to Cut Data - Enlarging a Die with your Brother ScanNCut - Tea Time by Stampin’ Up!

13:09
In this video, you will learn how to use the Scan to Cut Data feature on your Brother Scan and Cut. The model of ScanNCut which I'm using is the Scan and Cut 2 or CM350. First, I show you how to cut a die with the Big Shot. The die set is Tea Time Framelits by Stampin' Up! It is a free set of framelits you can get when you order $100 worth of merchandise. See the links to the Sale-A-Bration brochure and catalogs below. After I cut out the tea pot, I placed the black card stock shape onto a Whisper White background so that it could be easily recognized. Then, I scanned it in using Scan to Cut Data, selecting both the inside and outside lines. Then, I demonstrated how to retrieved the image and cut it. Next, I demonstrated how to group the parts of the teapot together and enlarge it. Then, we cut out a large tea pot. Shapes like this can be used for students to write Mother's Day messages on if you cut them on plain card stock. To Place an Order, visit my Stampin' Up! store. Cutting out Stamped Sentiments using the Brother ScanNCut - Incredible Like You - 2019 Occasions

12:40
In this tutorial, you will learn how to cut out stamped sentiments using the Brother Scan and Cut. The model I’m using is the ScanNCut2 or CM350. The stamp set used in this tutorial is Incredible Like You by Stampin’ Up! It is featured in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. The stamped sentiments were stamped onto Whisper White card stock using Memento Black ink. I used a blade depth of about 4.5 for the Whisper White card stock and a blade depth of about 5.5 for the Call Me Clover card stock. The stamped image on the Whisper White had an outline distance of 0.04' and the cut out shape on the Call Me Clover card stock had an outline distance of 0.12." The "I Adore You" sentiment was used for this example. I also shared a "Happy Birthday" sentiment cut out using the same technique. It was from the Birthday Delivery stamp set. Cutting the Inside & Outside of Stamped Images using the Brother ScanNCut - Beautiful Day

20:46
In this video, I demonstrate how to cut out stamped images using the Brother ScanNCut. I use the Beautiful Day stamp set by Stampin’ Up. First, I stamped the images using Memento Black ink onto Whisper White card stock. Then, I secured the paper to the mat using Painter’s tape, making sure that I didn't cover up any of the numbers or lines on the border of the cutting mat. I used a blade depth of 5 for this demonstration. I used the Direct Cut feature to cut out the first set of butterflies. I loaded the mat, scanned the images, and added an outline distance of 0.04” around the image. Then, I cut the images out. Next, I showed how to use the Scan to Cut Data feature to cut out the inside and outside of the butterfly. Lastly, I changed the card stock and cut out the butterflies onto a new In Color of cardstock: Blueberry Bushel. Then, I demonstrated how to remove the stamped images from the mat. I also showed and shared several examples of images I colored using the Stampin' Up blends. I shared the blends combination for each image. I also showed projects I created with these butterflies. Brother ScanNCut Tips & Tricks - Resticking Your Mats

08:30
In this short tutorial, I show you a couple of tips and tricks for resticking your Brother Scan and Cut mats. First, I show you how I use Two-Way Glue to restick the mats. This is the fastest, cheapest and easiest method of resticking the mats which I use. Then, I show a more time consuming method of covering the mat with tape while you spray it with low tack spray or stencil spray. This method works but it is very messy and time consuming. Then, I show you how I cut apart a Cricut mat and used StickIt to adhere it to my ScanNCut mat. This method works great but it is time consuming and actual makes your mat too sticky at first. Also, Cricut mats may be cheaper than SNC mats but you still don't want to sacrifice one of each if you are still using them. Brother ScanNCut Tips & Tricks - Auto Layout Setting

05:55
In this video, I go over how to use the Auto Layout setting on your Brother Scan and Cut projects. I start out by adding 2" hearts to the mat after selecting the heart from the built in pattern. That was the max the Brother ScanNCut said would fit. Then, we applied Auto Layout to the heart patterns. This resulted in extra space on the mat. We then selected Add and placed 4 more hearts onto the mat for a total of 29 hearts. In this example, the Pattern Interval setting is 1. This means that the shapes and patterns you cut out will be very close together. The Pattern Interval combined with the Auto Layout setting will help you get the most out of the paper you place onto your mat. The model of Brother ScanNCut used in this video is the CM350 or ScanNCut 2. These tutorials will help you save paper. This technique can be used to cut out any shapes and you will be able to follow along with your machine. After you cut out your shapes, you can save them to your machine. Cutting the Inside and Outside of Stamped Images using the Brother ScanNCut- Basket Bunch

11:24
If you are just tuning in and haven't watched the first couple of tutorials, I highly recommend watching these two videos first so that you don't get lost. Brother ScanNCut - Cutting the Inside & Outside of Stamped Images - Seaside Shore https://youtu.be/pgJyT4lUCkc Brother ScanNCut - Cutting the Inside & Outside of Stamped Images - Crafting Forever https://youtu.be/dznTCPdQpDI In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to cut out the inside and outside of stamped images using the Brother Scan N’ Cut. I used the Basket Bunch retired stamp set by Stampin’ Up. I stamped the basket in Soft Suede ink onto Whisper White card stock. I used a blade depth of 5. To cut the inside, I used the Scan to Cut Data feature. I used the second option which saves the inside and outside of the basket. I zoomed in, dragged away the parts of the basket I didn't wish to cut, went back into editing mode and deleted them. This process saved just the inside shape of the basket. I saved it to my machine. Next, I returned home, selected the Pattern feature and retrieved the saved basket data. Then, I scaled that down and cut out the shape. Because the shape was smaller than the original, there appears to be an outline distance or border around the inside of the basket. After cutting the inside, I returned home again. I scanned the image again, this time using the Direct Cut feature. I cut out the basket with an outline distance which matched the inside distance. At this point, I removed the image from the mat to show my crafty friends the finished product. What may seem like a lot of steps is worth it in the end because your cut images will look professional and you will not need to spend time fussy cutting. Brother ScanNCut Tips & Tricks - Cutting Area

05:52
In this video, I go over how to use the Cut Area setting on your Brother Scan and Cut projects. The paper is 8.5" by 11" and while you can just be sure to place items on the mat in certain locations to cut, there is a way to ensure you only cut in a specific area while avoiding others. I used Bermuda Bay card stock by Stampin' Up! and a blade depth of 5. In this example, the Pattern Interval setting is 1. This means that the shapes and patterns you cut out will be very close together. The model of Brother ScanNCut used in this video is the CM350 or ScanNCut 2. These tutorials will help you save paper. Brother ScanNCut Troubleshooting Tip - Scanning / Cutting Position Adjustment

10:39
In this tutorial, you will learn how to use the setting: Scanning/Cutting Position Adjustment. This troubleshooting tip is useful when you cut out stamped images or shapes from patterned paper and the outline distance around them is not even. In this example, I stamped ducks from Fable Friends. There was more white space on the left side of each duck than on the right side. The way to fix this is by using the Scanning/Cutting Position Adjustment setting. Load a piece of 12 by 12 white card stock into your machine. The ScanNCut will cut lines and then scan them. You move the arrow keys until the cross hair is in the center of the intersecting lines. I used the CM350 or Brother Scan and Cut 2 for this tutorial. You will have the setting on your machine, even if it is not located on page 4 of your settings/tools. ———————— Supplies ———————— • Fable Friends Cling Stamp Set —— http://bit.ly/2UhKuQM • Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad —— http://bit.ly/2M8Upr8 • Whisper White 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock —— http://bit.ly/2LC4BIy • 2" X 8" (5.1 X 20.3 Cm) Cellophane Bags —— http://bit.ly/2NaIiac • Gingham Gala 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper —— http://bit.ly/2TXMRHY • SNAIL Permanent Adhesive —— http://bit.ly/2Kv4jOY • Stampin' Dimensionals —— http://bit.ly/2ykn85L • Brother ScanNCut —— htts://amzn.to/2LqTtih More Projects by the Papered Chef: The Papered Chef Blog http://thepaperedchef.com Subscribe to my YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/c/PaperedChef Visit me on Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/paperedchef/ Like me on FaceBook https://www.facebook.com/thepaperedchef Follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/paperedchef Check out my Brother ScanNCut Courses http://thepaperedchef.com/brother-scanncut-courses

Brother ScanNCut Tips & Tricks - Pattern Interval Setting

07:40
In this video, I go over how to apply the Pattern Interval setting to your Brother Scan and Cut projects. I start out by using the default setting which is a Pattern Interval of 1. This means that the shapes and patterns you cut out will be very close together. Using the default size for the built in egg pattern, we are able to fit 9 eggs on the mat. Then, I changed the Pattern Interval to 7. The eggs were much further apart and only 5 fit on the mat. Next, I showed examples comparing other Pattern Interval settings of 2, 5 and 10. You can vary your pattern interval when you are making stencils. The model of Brother ScanNCut used in this video is the CM350 or ScanNCut 2. Cutting Stamped Images using the Brother ScanNCut - Beauty Abounds by Stampin’ Up!

31:00
Scan N Cut Classes on Skillshare: https://www.skillshare.com/r/profile/Papered-Chef/49889 In this tutorial, you will learn how to cut out stamped images using your Brother ScanNCut. The stamp set we will be using is called Beauty Abounds by Stampin' Up! It is a beautiful butterfly set and there are also coordinating dies. The set is featured in the 2019 Occasions Catalog by Stampin' Up! Prior to this tutorial, I stamped butterflies, sentiments and flourish from the Beauty Abounds stamp set. I used Blueberry Bushel ink on Whisper White card stock. To cut out all of the stamped images in this tutorial, we used a blade depth of 4. First, we cut out the butterflies using an outline distance of 0.04." Next, we cut out the "hello" and "thanks" sentiments using an outline distance of 0.08." Lastly, we cut out the flourish. This was a request from one of my YouTube subscribers named Frechie. I explained how we have to use a pencil to connect all of the open areas of the flourish so that it will scan in as one image and be able to be recognized by the Brother ScanNCut. The flourish was cut out with an outline distance of 0.04" and then the pencil marks were erased prior to removing the cut out images from the mat. Lastly, I shared several projects I created using the Beauty Abounds stamp set and coordinating dies. I explained how there are projects you can create with metal dies which would be almost impossible to cut out using your Brother ScanNCut. Therefore, the products compliment each other. I shared a card and several bookmarks I created using the butterflies and sentiments from the Beauty Abounds stamp set and coordinating Butterfly Beauty thinlets dies. I also acknowledged my friend Annette who helped me create the butterfly card by assisting me with punching out the tiny little pieces. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and related projects and will be inspired to create your own butterfly crafts. Brother ScanNCut Tutorial - Cutting Patterned Paper - Broadway Bound dsp by Stampin’ Up!

17:49
In this tutorial, you will learn how to cut out patterned paper using the Brother Scan and Cut. The paper we will be using is Broadway Bound designer series paper by Stampin' Up! It is part of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and will be available until June 3rd or while supplies last. For this demonstration, I cut out the balloons. I used Color Recognition mode and a blade depth of 5 because this is Specialty dsp. It is thicker than normal dsp and is about the thickness of Stampin Up card stock. I added an outline distance of 0.04 to each bundle of balloons. I shared tips for cutting out the other papers in the Broadway Bound collection. The parts of the cakes, candles, and party hats must be connected using a pencil which you can erase later. If the Brother ScanNCut doesn't not recognize them as single objects, then they will not be cut out correctly. To cut out the inside and outside of the numbers, use Scan to Cut Data. The only disadvantage of doing this is that you can't add an outline distance to each number. Well, not without the help of Brother Canvas Workspace. I hope you see the potential of this designer series paper for creating embellishments using your ScanNCut. Well, not without the help of Brother Canvas Workspace. Cutting out Dinosaurs with the Brother Scan N’ Cut – Pick a Pattern DSP

05:14
Blog Post: http://thepaperedchef.com/cutting-out-dinosaurs-with-the-brother-scan-n-cut-pick-a-pattern-dsp In this short video demonstration, I walk you through the steps I used to cut out dinosaur patterns from the Pick a Pattern designer series paper by Stampin’ Up. I used a blade depth of 4 and added an outline of 0.4” around each image. This technique can be used to cut patterns out of any of your papers, keeping in mind that the images need to have a solid line around them. To save time, I selected just one area of the dsp. Later, I finished cutting out all the patterns and will be making cards and treats with them. The coordinating colors are: Flirty Flamingo, Crushed Curry, Emerald Envy, Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Whisper White. Please visit my blog again to find out what I make with these cute dinosaur patterns.

BrotherScanNCut Vinyl Coffee Mug - Personalize your Gifts with Vinyl - DIY Tutorial

12:39
In this tutorial, you will learn how to personalize a coffee mug using your Brother ScanNCut. The model of Scan and Cut used is the CM350 or ScanNCut 2. First, I showed how to use the PC version of Brother Canvas Workspace to access a font on my computer called Milkshake. I placed text onto the screen, enlarged it and then I went to Process Overlap, Weld to weld most of the letters together. This creates a smoother look for the mug or jar you are decorating. The fewer the pieces to cut out, the better. Next, I shared how to resize the text to fit onto my coffee mug project. I personalized the coffee mug for my friend Nicole. I showed how to save and transfer the file to your Brother ScanNCut machine. Then, I showed you how to retrieve the file on the CM350 and cut it out on vinyl. I used a Blade Depth of 1.5 for cutting out vinyl. This is a kiss cut in that it cuts through the top layer of vinyl and not the backing. Next, I demonstrated how to remove the vinyl not used, leaving just the font on the backing. I demonstrated how to use weeding tools to get rid of the inside pieces so that just the word Nicole was left behind. Then, I used Transfer Tape to apply the vinyl to the mug. How to Put Images inside of Letters - Cutting out Photos with the Brother Scan and Cut

09:34
In this video tutorial, I will show you how to put images into letters. You will learn how to cut photos using the Brother ScanNCut. This technique is very useful for creating shadow boxes or scrap book layouts. I'm joined today by my friend Rita who went on a trip to Italy. She printed out several of her photos and plans on making a shadow box using photos, tickets to events, brochures and other memorabilia from her trip to Italy. First, we used the Pattern option to add a letter from built in fonts using the Pattern option. For this project, we used the first alphabet set because the letters are wide and good for cropping images with. Next, we resized the height of each image. It's important for all of the letters to be the same height. The width will resize proportionately. One I resized the letter and added it to the screen, we then attached a photo onto the mat using Painter's tape and scanned the image in as a background. Next, Rita placed the letter over the part of the image she wanted to cut out. The red outline of the image is used as a guide to show you where to place it. Then, we cut out the letter T. We used a blade depth of 5 and the default pressure and speed settings. As a review and to finish the word "Italy" we cut out part of a bridge picture using the letter I. Please visit my blog for more crafty inspiration and to see final images of the shadow box Rita completes. Brother ScanNCut Tips & Tricks - Scan to Cut Data vs Direct Cut - Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin Kit

18:32
In this video, you will learn how to cut out stamped images using the Brother ScanNCut. The Scan and Cut we will be using is the CM350 or Scan and Cut 2. You can follow this tutorial with any model of ScanNCut that you have. The stamp set I'm using is from the Hugs from Shelli May 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit by Stampin' Up! Subscribe to Paper Pumpkin for a crafty surprise each month: https://www.paperpumpkin.com/en-us/sign-up/?demoid=2166056 In the first part of this tutorial, I demonstrate how to use Scan to Cut Data. You would use this if you just want to scan in a stamped image and then cut it out. You can also use this if you want to resize or duplicate the stamped image. First, you scan in the image and save it. Then, you retrieve it. Then, you cut it out, resize it, etc. If you make any changes to it, you need to remember to save it again. In the second part of the tutorial, I demonstrate Direct Cut. You would use this if you want to cut out the stamped image with an outline distance. You can even go one step further by cutting out another layer. You do this by increasing the outline distance, changing out the paper, and cutting it again. Here are the settings I recommend. Stamped Images Stamped in Memento Black Very Vanilla Card Stock Blade Depth = 5 Outline Distance = 0.04" Outline of Birds Perennial Essence designer series paper Blade Depth = 3 Outline Distance = 0.08" ———————— Supplies ———————— • Hugs from Shelli May 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit —— • Very Vanilla 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock —— http://bit.ly/2U5y3qP • Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad —— http://bit.ly/2M8Upr8 • Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper —— http://bit.ly/2PYmRf4 • Tag Topper Scalloped Punch —— http://bit.ly/2xYLZgf • Blueberry Bushel 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock —— http://bit.ly/2Dqtq4h • Old Olive 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock —— http://bit.ly/2W3ex3S • Whisper White 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock —— http://bit.ly/2LC4BIy • Calypso Coral 1/4" Ombre Ribbon —— http://bit.ly/2KeozrO • 3-Month Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription —— http://bit.ly/2D7Kfk8 • Calypso Coral Classic Stampin' Pad —— http://bit.ly/2TWIa1b More Projects by The Papered Chef: The Papered Chef Blog http://thepaperedchef.com Brother ScanNCut Courses on Udemy http://thepaperedchef.com/brother-scanncut-courses Brother ScanNCut Courses on SkillShare http://thepaperedchef.com/scanncut-classes-on-skillshare Like me on FaceBook https://www.facebook.com/thepaperedchef Shop at my Stampin’ Up! Cutting out Mickey Mouse with the Brother Scan N’ Cut

08:17
Instructions for the mini coffee cups: http://thepaperedchef.com/mickey-mouse-mini-coffee-cups This video is a full demonstration on how to use the Brother Scan N’ Cut to cut out Mickey Mouse heads from the Sandy Lion paper which I purchased at Joann. I used a blade depth of 5 for this type of paper which feels like light card stock. I demonstrate cutting out a border around Mickey Mouse heads. Prior to the demo, I cut out a sheet of Mickey Mouse heads using the Color recognition mode which was very time consuming. In this demonstration, I used the Black and White recognition mode and was almost as successful. Almost every full Mickey head was cut. Therefore, I recommend the B & W mode for this paper. In the last part of the video, I show you I used a Mickey on the top of a mini coffee cup treat holder which was decorated and embellished using a Disney theme. Cutting out Vinyl using the Brother ScanNCut - Scan and Cut Vinyl

08:56
In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to cut out vinyl with the Brother ScanNCut 2. Prior to the video, I did a test cut. A blade depth of 1 didn't cut all the way through the vinyl and a blade depth of 2 cut through the vinyl and the backing. You only want to cut the vinyl and not the backing sheet. I show how to use transfer tape to place the vinyl onto my Brother Scan and Cut machine. For my machine, a blade depth of 1.5 was best for this job. You can use vinyl to personalize all kinds of household items. For this demonstration, I personalized my Brother ScanNCut. I used Script MT Bold font from my computer and saved the file to my machine prior to recording this video. I will cover how to do this in great detail in the Advanced Brother ScanNCut Course - Scan and Cut Courses: http://thepaperedchef.com/brother-scanncut-courses Here is a coupon code for my Brother ScanNCut Basics course. https://www.udemy.com/brother-scanncut-basics/?couponCode=PAPEREDCHEF2018 The Brother ScanNCut Basics course covers how to cut out built in shapes and patterns, how to cut out stamped images, how to cut out patterned paper and how to store and retrieve your saved projects. In this video, I demonstrate how to cut out patterned paper using the Brother ScanNCut. For this tutorial, I used the ScanNCut 2 or CM350. I also set my machine to color recognition mode prior to scanning. These and other tips and tricks are described in this video tutorial. • Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper —— http://bit.ly/2u5SqtB Note: The animal hanging from the tree is a sloth, not a monkey. 22:44
In this Brother Scan and Cut tutorial, you will learn how to cut out and color stamped images. We are using the Brother CM350 or ScanNCut 2. For this example, I stamped images from This Little Piggy in Memento Black onto Whisper White card stock. Then, I cut them out using a blade depth of 4. Here is a list of supplies. If you order from my Stampin' Up! store during the month of May, 2019, you will get a new Annual Catalog Survival Kit mailed to you in early June. Our new catalog goes live on June 4th, 2019. ———————— Supplies ———————— • This Little Piggy Clear-Mount Stamp Set —— http://bit.ly/2ykn6e9 • Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush —— http://bit.ly/2ykn6Lb • Powder Pink Classic Stampin' Pad —— http://bit.ly/2mMcj4K • Petal Pink Classic Stampin' Pad —— http://bit.ly/2z8pVx5 • Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad —— http://bit.ly/2M8Upr8 • Whisper White 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock —— http://bit.ly/2LC4BIy • Whisper White 5/8" (1.6 Cm) Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon —— http://bit.ly/2PfzxO3 • Stampin' Dimensionals —— http://bit.ly/2ykn85L • Distress Sponges: https://amzn.to/2VkK9Bw More Projects by The Papered Chef: The Papered Chef Blog http://thepaperedchef.com Brother ScanNCut Courses on Udemy http://thepaperedchef.com/brother-scanncut-courses Brother ScanNCut Courses on SkillShare http://thepaperedchef.com/scanncut-classes-on-skillshare Like me on FaceBook https://www.facebook.com/thepaperedchef Shop at my Stampin’ Up!
