Whether the application is cloud-based, mobile, or even fat client they all seem to be using web protocols to communicate. Adding to the traditional landscape there is rise in the use of application programming interfaces, integration hooks, and next generation web technologies. What this means for someone testing web applications is that flexibility is the key to success. The Python programming language is just as flexible as today's web application platforms. The language is appealing to security professionals because it is easy to read and write, has a wide variety of modules, and has plenty of resources for help. This additional flexibility affords the tester greater depth than many of the canned tests that come with common tools they use on a daily basis. Greater familiarity plus flexible language equals tester win! In this presentation we introduce methods with which to create your own clients, tools, and test cases using the Python programming language. We want to put testers closer to the conditions in which they are testing for and arm them with the necessary resources to be successful. We also discuss interfacing with current tools that people commonly use for web application testing. This allows for pinpoint identification of specific vulnerabilities and conditions that are difficult for other tools to identify. With any data that your going to import into a database there are problems with the way the data has been entered down to calculations displaying values to too many decimals. To correct this you need to look at cleansing the data. this can be done inside the source data itself. I.e. fix the data within Excel or SQL first. More often than not you cannot change the source data and instead need to "convert" it to the destination. So how is this done you may ask? Well with SSIS you can use two components specifically designed for this job. These are: Data Conversion Derived Column I don't know about you but they sound the same don't they? Well in fact they are very different. How? well lets watch the video and find out! One of the many connection types in Xcelsius is the XML Data connection. You may think XML data is boring but there are a lot of benefits to using XML data. XML data can be made available by manually typing an XML file or automatically generated by an application or database. The video below shows an example of how to consume simple XML data using Xcelsius. Google Tech Talk July 22, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Professor George Candea http://people.epfl.ch/george.candea This talk proposes cloud-based automated software reliability services (SRS), a step toward making testing and debugging of code as easy as using webmail. SRS is automatic, without human involvement from the service user's or provider's side; this is unlike today's "testing as a service" businesses, which employ humans to write tests. First, I will outline four of the SRS components we envision: a "home edition" on-demand testing service for consumers to verify the software they are about to install on their PC or mobile device; a "programmer's sidekick" enabling developers to thoroughly and promptly test their code with minimal upfront resource investment; a public "certification service," akin to Underwriters Labs, that independently assesses the reliability, safety, and security of software; and an "automated debugging" service that helps developers fix code based on bug reports from the field. Then I will present in detail execution synthesis, the technique that makes automated debugging (the latter SRS component) a reality. Given a program and a bug report, execution synthesis combines static analysis and symbolic execution to "synthesize" a thread schedule and various required program inputs that cause the reported bug to manifest. The synthesized execution can then be played back deterministically in a regular debugger, like gdb. We have found this determinism to be particularly useful in debugging concurrency bugs. Our technique requires no runtime tracing or program modifications, thus incurring no runtime overhead and being practical for use in production systems. We evaluate it on popular software (e.g., the SQLite database, ghttpd Web server, HawkNL network library, UNIX utilities) and find that, starting from mere bug reports, it can reproduce on its own several real concurrency and memory safety bugs in less than three minutes.

Hello everyone, I am Mr. Programmer - once known as Canownueasy. This tutorial will show you the uses of ArrayLists in Java. I will disclose some examples with ArrayLists. This video is video number 1 in the Using ArrayLists in Java series. First, I will open the Eclipse IDE. Using the Eclipse IDE is NOT required - you may choose any IDE (or no IDE) to program. From personal preferance, Eclipse IDE provides the most amount of features, and less annoying visual designs and a much faster (and less detailed) graphical user interface (GUI). On the other hand, the Netbeans IDE provides a visual Swing Framework IDE. I'm going to now create a new project. I will title it "Example". For more information about creating a new project in Eclipse see my other video. Let's create a new class "Loader". This class will serve as the main and only class in the program. Please note, this is JUST an example class to demonstrate the use of arraylists. First, let's import the arraylist class. You will notice that Eclipse underlines it in yellow. This is the result of a WARNING. Warnings serve to remind developers that their code is dead, not properly done, and much more. You can compare warnings to grammatical notices in Microsoft Word which are underlined in green. Now, we need to make a static main method that accepts arguments. Any class that has this type of method can serve as the loader or main class. Time to create an arraylist. Since we won't have any other classes in this example project, I am going to make it private. Private is a Java modifier that only allows limited - or PRIVATE access to the object. I'm going to call my arraylist "friends". Inside the semibraces defines the type of fields the arraylist can contain. I chose String as the list will contain friend's names. Next, I want to look at options I have to do with my arraylist. You can always look at options of code by entering a period. Eclipse uses intellisense and displays what you can do. For example, I want to add my friend "Johnathan" to the list. I can do that using the add method. The add method has an Object parameter. The object must be the type of field your arraylist can hold. The arraylist can contain more than one of the same content so I can have 2 "Jonathan" friends. Let's just say I had an argument with Jonathan, and I'm not friends with him anymore, I can use the remove method. The same rules apply for removing as adding. Every "friend" inside the arraylist is an element. If I were dealing with cell phone contacts, and I don't remember if I have a number on the list, I can use the contains method. The contains method is a boolean. If the list contains an element equivalent to the contains parameter, it will return true. Otherwise, it will return false. If we wanted to find our best friend, we could use the get method. Arraylists have "slots" that can also be called "compartments". Each slot has an identification number starting from 0. I'll create a new String variable and get slot 2 from friends. Since we don't have 3 friends on our list, I'll add some more friends "Nathan", "Jimmy", and "Peter". Let's test our program out. Nothing happens - well at least that is what appears to the user. We need to show the user what is going on, so I am going to print out to the system all the elements or "friends" in the list. Now, as we see, the console shows the list of friends. Notice the brackets surrounding the elements. To remove these we can make a String method that replaces the brackets with nothing and returns back the new String. Just modify the code to print out the friends list after the brackets have been replaced. We also need to convert the friends to a String. Now, the console shows the list of friends without the brackets. If a user wanted to see which friend is your favorite, you can print out twice.
