How To Increase Productivity- SO YOU CAN LOSE WEIGHT!
How To Increase Productivity http://nicholekellerman.com My video ROCKS but here is an article I found on this topic as well... 10 Tips To Increase Your Productivity Want to get more done in your day? Of course you do. To stay competitive in any industry, from digital marketing to software development, in many cases it comes down to one thing: productivity. The good news is that everyone can increase the amount of tasks they accomplish in a day. If you consider your productivity an iterative process you work on bit by bit, you can slowly improve it. With that in mind following are 10 tips I've found work exceptionally well that hopefully can help you too have a more productive day.How To Increase Productivity 1. Make a plan for your day One of the best ways to remain productive is to make a plan for the day. Make sure you know how you want your day to go in advance, even before you start. This can provide you a roadmap for the day, helping you figure out what to take care of first and what to save for later. For this one to work best, create the next day's play the night before so that every morning you spend time executing, not planning. 2. Break larger tasks down into easy to accomplish bits Do you have a large project that's just so big you keep putting it off? Or maybe you're just unsure of where to begin, so you put it off. A better way is to break the project down into more manageable segments. Figure out what needs to be done first and then decide what can be done next. Splitting a project into smaller pieces can help you feel a sense of accomplish as you check the items off your list, and it can provide you with a way to finish the project without being overwhelmed. 3. Prioritize ...ruthlessly It's important to accomplish the most important tasks first: always set your priorities. Figure out what must be done, do that first and rank the rest of your work according to importance. That way if you don't get to the items at the end of your list, it won't be as big a problem, and you can tackle them another time. You should be as ruthless as you can in your prioritization. If you're doing it right you may hurt feelings, but you'll achieve better results. 4. Block out distractions How To Increase Productivity As Adam has written before: focus or fail. When you have real work to be done block out distractions. Don't keep your email open all day. Turn off the IM. If appropriate, turn off your phone, or let it going to voicemail. In some cases, you might be able to use the equivalent of "do not disturb" to keep distractions at bay. 5. Set a timer to define uninterrupted work stretches One way you can focus your energy is to set a timer. This can also help you avoid distractions because you've set aside time for a specific purpose. Set a timer for half an hour, or an hour, and see what you can accomplish during that time. Don't allow yourself to do anything else while the timer is on. You might be surprised at what you can get done here. 6. Take breaks to recharge and refresh Taking a break can help you be more productive. Recharging can help invigorate you and reset your mind to work more efficiently for your next productive period. How To Increase Productivity 7. Don't make excuses or procrastinate It's easy to blame your inefficiency on slow computers, your boss or deadlines. You'll get more done if you focus on solutions and stop wasting time making excuses. 8. Reward yourself to reinforce success One of the best ways to avoid burnout -- and resulting drop in productivity -- is to reward yourself. Provide a small reward if you meet your productivity goals for the day. 9. Maintain a positive outlook improve your productivity. It's tough to meet depressed people who are productive: they're usually far more optimistic. 10. Know how hard you work, and when Be aware of when you are most productive. Pay attention. If you are most productive in the morning, that's when you should hit it hard and do as much as you can.and you'll be more productive. What do you find are your best tips to increase productivity? How to supercharge your daily routine, Attack Your Productivity
Most people aren't aware of this powerful time tactic! When you are listing high-priority tasks for the day, list a "personal principle" to practice. Some favorite principles of mine are being positive, praise others, smile, really listen and practice self-discipline. Practice the personal principle you list all day long, then check it off complete at the end of the day as you would any other task. You'll get progressively better at living the principle, impact others in a positive way, and feel better about yourself. This is one of 101 productivity tips in our book, Attack Your Day. How to Get into a Flow State of Productivity
In Chapter 6 of 17 in his 2012 Capture Your Flag interview, leadership philosopher Bijoy Goswami answers "When Do You Find Yourself Entering a Flow State of Productivity?" He shares how flow only comes after an immersion process. Once the immersion is under way, flow occurs and he is able to find a zone of productivity. Bijoy Goswami is a writer, teacher, and community leader based in Austin, Texas. He develops learning models, including MRE, youPlusU, and Bootstrap, to help others live more meaningfully. Previously, he co-founded Aviri Software after working at Trilogy Software. Goswami graduated from Stanford University, where he studied Computer Science, Economics, and History. View more career videos like these at http://www.captureyourflag.com Follow us on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/captureyourflag Like us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/captureyourflag Transcript: Erik Michielsen: When do you find yourself entering a flow state of productivity? Bijoy Goswami: I think it’s a matter of taking enough time to do a task long enough that you get into it. So, what I found is a flow state occurs, you know, in any given moment, you need about an hour or two of ongoing work in that task and then you find yourself in a flow state. So, there’s something about – There’s a settling in process and settling down process and then once you’re in that zone, you’re in that flow state but you can’t – I very rarely find myself starting in the flow state and so, you know, I’ll ramp up a task and start doing something and then as I’m doing it more then I’ll find myself in the flow state. So, I mean, like, you know, South By (SXSW) is a great example like, you know, again you’ll start and you're like, oh, yeah South By and you have these festivals and there’s panels and, you know, and then you just start going, you start getting into it and by the first day or second day you're down the road and you’re just gonna stop by, you know that you’re in the process of it. So, I think it’s a really interesting thing, it did take some setup and then once you’ve setup then you can start to groove in.

Producivity Tip #6, Accelerate your personal productivity
Use blank spaces of time well. A blank space of time is any amount of time in which you are waiting for others, or you are put on hold for whatever reason. Perhaps you are waiting for a meeting to start. Blank spaces can be used in two general ways. One: use blank spaces of time to complete mini-tasks that might take only a few minutes. Always have something with you that you could be working on, or carry an article with you to read. Two: use blank spaces to manage your energy level. It often takes only five minutes or so to win back energy. Change a routine; take a walk around the building, do stretching or some deep breathing. These techniques can work wonders. It's just as important to manage your energy as it is to manage your time. Blank spaces of time are golden opportunities. Don't let them go to waste. Procrastination: Six ways to improve procrastination & increase productivity
MAKE SURE TO SUBSCRIBE http://jane-frankland.com Procrastination is probably the #1 complaint, challenge or frustration I hear most from entrepreneurs or business owners who work from home. So I'm going to ask you, do you want to work smarter, stop procrastinating and be more productive during your day? Well this video deals with this and gives you 6 tips for improving your work productivity and getting more value out of your day. At the end of it you'll also understand why your best intentions may have quickly been subverted by your regularly scheduled work routine. So here are the 6 tips: 1. Make a to-do list 2. Be aware of distractions 3. Schedule activity 4. Break down tasks 5. Give yourself a break 6. Say no more often Procrastination is defined as follows: the act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention. In other words you procrastinate when you put off doing things that you should be focusing on right now. Usually you're doing things in favour of doing things that are more enjoyable or that you're more comfortable doing! Hope this is making sense! According to psychologist Professor Clarry Lay, a prominent writer on procrastination, procrastination occurs when there's "a temporal gap between intended behaviour and enacted behaviour." That is, procrastination is occurring when there's a significant time period between when people intend to do a job, and when they actually do it. Procrastination is apparently a habit -- a deeply ingrained pattern of behaviour and this means that it can't be broken overnight. Habits only stop being habits when you have persistently stopped practising them, so use as many approaches as possible to maximize your chances of beating procrastination. Here are some to get you going: - Make up your own rewards - Get a buddy i.e. ask someone else to check up on you. Peer pressure really does work! - Identify unpleasant consequences of NOT doing the task. - Shame yourself into motivation. For example, work out the cost of your time to your employer and then cost your productivity out. - Keep a To-Do list so that you can't "conveniently" forget about unpleasant or overwhelming tasks. - Become a master of scheduling and project planning, so that you know when to start those all-important projects. - Set yourself time-bound goals: that way, you'll have no time for procrastination! - Focus on one task at a time. - Break the project into a set of smaller, more manageable tasks and if need be create a time management plan. Start with some quick, small tasks if you can, even if these aren't the logical first actions. You'll feel that you're achieving things, and so perhaps the whole project won't be so overwhelming after all. - Give the job a go! It might not be as bad as you think. Many procrastinators overestimate the unpleasantness of a task. - Reward yourself for doing the task. Remember: the longer you can spend without procrastinating, the greater your chances of breaking this destructive habit for good are! To have a good chance of conquering procrastination, you need to know as soon as you're doing it. Then, you need to analyse your reasons for why you're procrastinating and taken appropriate steps to overcome the block. Part of the solution is to develop good time management, organizational and personal effectiveness habits. This helps you establish the right priorities, and manage your time in such a way that you make the most of the opportunities open to you. Now, since you're reading this post, you're probably looking for the complete blog on how to work smarter and get more value out of your day.
