Step #3: Optimize headings - Headings make it easy to skim your product page as well as tell search engines what your products are about. Within your headings include keywords. Step #4: Include feature lists - When people are looking for products they sometimes Google for the features. Make sure you bullet out the main features on each of your product pages. It's difficult to write 300 words about one single product if you're having, for example, a clothing store. Felisza asks: is having less than 300 words on one page bad? “That’s something I can relate to, especially if you sell a hundred different type of pants. The funny thing is, on a store, the 300 word length is probably quite a bit. The question is: A. Should you have that much text on the page or is there a lot of other content on a page that you could count in as well so you could do with a 150 or 200 words? B. Should you really be optimizing for this specific product or should you be optimizing the category page for which it is usually a lot easier to write 300 words than for the product page. So the question you have to ask yourself is twofold: A. Should I optimize the specific pants page? Or should I optimize the categorie page? B. Could I get away with 150 or 200 words because I have a lot of other content on the page? So if you have a lot of images or technical information about the product then you can usually get away with less content. Our tips: 1. A good Product name should be readable and short without any extra words you might see on AliExpress. 2. Use searchable keywords in the title. Keyword planner will help you with that. The product name is important for your SEO optimization as well. 3. Don’t leave the original AliExpress Permalink. You can exclude a number of types or colors because it can be changed in the future. 4. Be careful and inventive with your description and try to use your customers’ language. It’s better when you keep the same writing style on all of the single product pages. And, of course, check for the grammar/spelling mistakes! 5. Do not include any images in the Product Description field – it will bring a touch of comfortable minimalism to your store. All photos of an item should be displayed in the Gallery and Variations sections. 6. Try to make your “Size Charts” look awesome and stylish. You can create all your charts in tablesgenerator.com. Use the type of metric system that your potential clients use. 7. What about our gallery? Our customers shouldn’t see any extra texts or AliExpress store logos. As long as I use AliDropship Plugin I can delete this logo at once using Image Editor. 8. Be careful with your product category. No T-Shirts in Slippers category. If you have only thematic categories (Kittens and Rabbits), you also need to create your product categories like Hoodies, Mugs, T-Shirts to make your store more convenient for your customers. 9. Avoid a suspicious number of orders especially in new arrivals category. The inconsistency between the number of product orders and its availability period seriously hurts the store’s trustability. 10. Make sure that your discounts are reasonable. Online shoppers can’t trust a store that manipulates them so obviously, and such price games can seriously damage the seller’s reputation. 11. Since I use AliDropship Plugin I have imported not only products but also reviews from AliExpress. Having your reviews imported try to look them through. Some untranslated misspelled words and negative feedback could occasionally sneak in. 12. The more pictures you put in reviews the more loyal your customer will be. Don’t forget to update your reviews from time to time. They buy relations, stories and magic.” That is so true. It’s what I try to convey to people selling online, whether it’s a physical product, a digital product, a service, reservations, or even event tickets. It boils down to knowing who their ideal customer is and how to sell to that specific person, rather than just trying to “generically” sell a product. When trying to sell their products or services, everything is based around that persona. When building a product page, most people use the manufacturer’s product name and images. Then they'll write a short product description, something like, “Available in small, medium and large. Made out of 100% cotton.” No one's going to buy a product with that kind of a description. A lot of people think they can’t write, and as a result, they simply don’t even try. Here are a few tips to help write sales copy for a perfect product page: Imagine explaining that you are selling as if you were in front of your customer. Record what you’d say…“Hey, this widget has these features and let me tell you about this guy that used it and how it changed his life.” Then transcribe the recording. Stories sell and they help people to remember them. Write everything specifically to the ideal customer. That includes: a product title, a short description or introduction, a main product description and a call to action. A good way to write a call to action is to pose a “what if” question: “What if you didn’t buy this widget?” Include answers to bring them back to why they need the product. For additional tips on sales copy, images, using video and more, I’m offering a free mini course on how to create the perfect product page. I'm so happy you get to join me today. We are going to talk about some really important information that's really going to help drive sales to your eCommerce platform. In particular, we are going to be taking some tips from Chapter Four of my latest book, "Creating Fashion Websites That Sell: The Fashion Designers' Guide." Chapter Four is all about creating pages, product pages that are really going to drive sales. Absolutely, it's going to be so important that you take some great notes. We are going over some really critical steps so that you can actually make these changes and make these things happen to your website, but ultimately, the most important thing in this process is going to be to get deep with your website. Step one, is get familiar with your platform. Start to understand the terminology, Google it. You are going to see things like meta tagging, coming up with short descriptions for your website, making sure each of your product pages have the right descriptions on the back end. That's very different than the right descriptions on the front end, which is what your customer is ultimately going to see. So step one, let's get familiar. Step two, it's time to start getting creative about what it is you're going to be selling. Obviously, it's important to take a look online, start to do some key search terms. That means really start to take a look at some of the keywords that you're going to be trying to sell on your page. See what's ranking and see how people are actually responding to that. There are some great platforms online, like Moz, and some other ones, that actually allow you to do search rankings for keywords. Taking a look and doing some search rankings, figuring out what are the keywords that you are actually going to be optimizing for. While that all might sound very technical, it's really going to help you with this next step of writing it. Writing a product page is extremely, extremely important for what someone is actually going to buy. Too often I see people who are trying to sell $500 items on a website, and all they've really told me is one or two sentences about why I should buy it. To be honest, if I don't know your brand, and you don't have any brand value, or perceived value from a social standpoint, and I haven't read about you in any press, you really need to sell me on why it is I am going to spend $500 on your product. Even still, if I'm going to spend $50 on your product, your goal is going to be to sell me, in the most romantic way possible, why it is that I need to own what it is that you are selling. You're going to need to do it in a way that optimizes for keywords, and you are going to need to do it in a way that optimizes for the voice that you are trying to get across to your customer. In other tips and tricks we've gone over developing your customer voice and understanding that, so it's important to take all of that information and research that you've done in terms of demographics, et cetera, and translate those words into your description pages. You're going to want to come up with a very descriptive title. Of course, if what you're selling is green high heels, I sure hope you tell me what shade of green it is. I sure hope that you're going to tell me what style of pump it is. Perhaps you are going to put something really catchy and interesting in there. If you had some press, "As seen in" is always a really interesting thing to put in your titles. That's just the beginning. Don't make your prod descriptions too long. You certainly want to make sure that there is a couple sentences that talk about, maybe, the inspiration, where it was made, why you made it, what's the reasoning behind it, maybe where someone else could see it, any type of press that that item has received. Then you want to go into some basic functional details.

They are: Awesome product photos Big images Zoom in feature Bread crumbs Clear call to action User reviews Product Video (in a non-commercial setting) Product Price Over the fence indicators Product features (explaining what the product is) Suggestions of other products "Also viewed" Section Credibility indicators Safety factors Today, we're going to look at the elements of an awesome product page. There are some elements that make a great product page. They are awesome product photos, big images, zoom in feature, bread crumbs, clear call to action, user reviews, preferably a video in a non-commercial setting, there has to be a price, there has to be over the fence indicators which we will go over and I will explain what they are, we need to have product features obviously explaining what the product is, preferably there has to be suggestions of other products, also there has to be 'also viewed', basically some customers also viewed other products, there needs to be credibility indicators which I will go over, and safety factors. Let's take a look at Zappos. Here's a product page for Zappos. The first thing is that they have awesome product photos. Look at these clear photos and there is a lot of them too; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. If you ever been on Etsy, that's another e-commerce site where people sell their crafts and handmade items, what a lot of people are saying, 'Listen, at least have five photos, different angles, different ways of showing it because people want to see it because when you're online, you really don't know, you can't hold it in your hands, but by looking at this you can get a really, really good idea of what the product is. Now, the images are also pretty big, they're not tiny, so they occupy the whole perimeter of this square. So, they're not tiny pictures, they're clear and they're big. Another cool thing is their zoom in factor and this like you're almost touching it and look at the quality of this. Some websites have a zoom in feature but what they do is they take a small image like this and they zoom it and it doesn't come out clear. The secret to this is to really have a big image and shrink it or have it in a way where when you click zoom in factor, it actually switches the images.
