3 HOURS of Amazing Colorful Reef Sea Life in HD 1080p (No Music) Tahiti, Raratonga, Indonesia

MUSIC VERSION @ https://youtu.be/eSRj847AY8U | Watch Free w/ AMAZON PRIME: http://a.co/0KMCyId | Watch via On-Demand: https://naturerelaxation.vhx.tv/videos/rainbow-reef-relaxation-3-hours-hd-nature-relaxation | DVD/DOWNLOAD: https://www.naturerelaxation.com/products/rainbow-reef-relaxation-3-hr-dynamic-underwater-film-w-music-hd | ABOUT THIS FILM: From the cinematographer: "The footage for this film was shot over a period of several years in French Polynesia, Micronesia, Indonesia and East Timor. Unfortunately there are not that vibrant anymore today. Coral reefs have suffered from the rise of water temperature, rise in acidity, destructive fishing methods and severe storms caused by climate change." - Peter Schenider. "Rainbow Reef Relaxation" is a 3-hour long, sweeping yet majestic & vibrant underwater journey to the world's most beautiful lagoons, as captured by Nature Relaxation collaborator Peter Schneider (Underwatercam) paired with ambient underwater sounds and brand new ambient music by the Cynic Project. Filmed in High Definition several years ago, thanks to its age this film offers magical glimpses of an underwater world that is bursting with life, color, and beauty. Unfortunately, reefs today in most of the world are suffering from severe bleaching and so with this film we hope to raise awareness by showcasing the divine beauty that only pristine underwater reefs can present, in hopes that it will motivate the viewer to take action and help save them before its too late! (https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/01/coral-bleaching-reefs-climate-change-el-nino-environment/) More from Peter S: "We all know that nowadays! This gives us the privilege and also duty to change and rethink our role in nature. What we also know today is that everything is connected and we are all a part of Nature, yes we are nature. So we don’t have to save the world, but recognize it as family. What we do to the world, the world will give it back to us. Equally the good and the bad things, that is law. The good news in it is, ...it is all up to you and me and everyone. You matter, I matter because we are all belonging to the same family. Now take a deep breath and join us for a dive beneath the waves." MUSIC INFORMATION: Filmed by The Cynic Project (http://www.CynicMusic.com) by Alex Smith. WATCH MY FILMS FREE ON AMAZON!! 10 MOST DANGEROUS OCEAN CREATURES IN THE WORLD

10:17
10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

FRIENDLIEST Sea Creatures

10:06
The sea is home to one of the most significant parts of the animal kingdom anywhere on Earth. Even though there are numerous creatures that can eat you with ease, there are equally as many creatures that are ready to swim and play with you. Many of the animals that call the ocean their home are incredibly intelligent, playful, and are some of the friendliest creatures anywhere. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 3. Jellyfish in Jellyfish Lake You should avoid most jellyfish from around the world due to their toxic stingers that can cause significant pain to humans. However, a small lake in Palau is home to a unique species of jellyfish that are missing these poisonous stingers. Thanks to the lack of stingers, these jellyfish make for one of the most peaceful creatures in the sea. The jellyfish that have survived in this lake has done so thanks to a unique metabolic process. By feeding on fast-growing algae, the jellyfish in this lake are capable of surviving on little food with no predators. As the sun moves across the lake growing natural algae, the jellyfish migrate from one end of the lake to another. These migrations when seen from above looks impressive and brings in many tourists. A trip to Jellyfish lake has been a fantastic trip many tourists have embarked on for many years. Recently, the government has temporarily shut down the ability to snorkel with these sea creatures due to a sudden drop in the population of jellyfish in the lake. Between the extreme drought and El Nino weather pattern in the area, the jellyfish population has dwindled to alarmingly low numbers. Hopefully, with increased rain and better climate conditions, these amazing creatures will flourish again. 2. Beluga Whale http://everythingchurchill.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/Beluga_051.jpg http://everythingchurchill.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/Beluga_07.jpg As with the Humpback Whale, the Beluga whale makes our list as one of the friendliest sea creatures. These massive white whales are beautiful creatures that are found in arctic to sub-arctic ocean temperatures. Due to their nature to travel in groups of 10 or more, these whales make for majestic animals that are friendly to all humans. Measuring in over 18 feet long, and over 3000 pounds, the Beluga whale is a fantastic sight to see. Thanks to its high pitched tweets, the Beluga whale is sometimes referred to as the sea canary. The Beluga whale also has the unique ability to mimic human speech through its high pitched sounds. In the wild, the cry of a Beluga whale has even been compared to the shouting of children. The first Beluga whale was brought into captivity in 1861, marking the first time a whale was kept in captivity. As with Humpbacks, it is best to experience Beluga whales from a distance to their large size. One of the most well-known places to view the Beluga whale is in the Northern Hudson Bay coastline. During June to mid-September, this bay becomes home to over 50,000 beluga whales. Local tourist companies offer small boats that can be taken out to the bay to view the whales up close. Even from the distance of a boat, these creatures can be seen in all their beauty as they breach the ocean’s surface and playfully swim beneath your boat. 1. Sea Otters Between their cute fur covered body, to their ability to play and problem solve, the Sea Otter is one of the friendliest creatures living in the ocean. Similar to Humpback whales, the Sea Otter was hunted for hundreds of years. It wasn’t until the 20th century that Sea Otters saw a massive spike in their population. After Zoos started to bring Sea Otters in for exhibits, the public fell in love with these friendly animals. Sea Otters are one of the smallest marine mammals, measuring about 4 feet long. While they are descendants of the weasel family, they are the heaviest members weighing in from 50 to 100 pounds. As with some sea creatures, Sea Otters are intelligent. Many Otters love to dine on clams and other shelled animals of the ocean. Since they do not have the strength to break the shells, many otters will store rocks under their arms as they hunt to help break the shells open. The best way to experience a sea otter is in a zoo or other aquarium. Many zoos offer dedicated exhibits that allow guests to experience first hand the friendly Sea Otter. These exhibits usually include allowing the guest to feed the sea otter and participate in a training session alongside professional animal trainers. A handful of zoos even offer guests the ability to swim with the sea otters for a short period, giving them the opportunity to play with these friendly creatures.

10 Creepy Sea Creatures You Didn't Know Existed

04:33
Did you know any of these amazing and scary deep sea creatures? It's hard to believe these bizarre animals exist. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg 'Hatchet Fish' footage by Filmic Art : www.filmicart.com For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: There is a vast world below the ocean that we have yet to discover in its entirety. While we seem to know nearly everything about the land, the sea still leaves much to be desired. As you go down into the depths of the ocean, you’ll notice a lot will change. For one, you’ll begin to be immersed in darkness. Second, the pressure will change. So, the creatures that have been discovered deep in the oceanic depths are quite different biologically, and they can be quite terrifying to look at. But once we begin to understand them, we can start to learn more about our existence, and even come closer to curing diseases and solving some of the world’s most complex mysteries. However, the sea creatures that have been discovered recently have shown to be just downright creepy and terrifying. You probably recall the Angler Fish, especially if you’re seen the Disney movie, “Finding Nemo”. If you didn’t realize that this fish is the real deal, get ready for new additions to your nightmares. It wasn’t a work of fiction or some messed up fantasy of some Disney Imagineer. The fish that we see in this video is actually female, and the male is a small weakling, wandering the sea to find a female with her pheromones. The male then attaches itself to the female and becomes a parasite. Every part of the male merges with the female except for the testicles, which the female uses to impregnate herself. Jokes aside, this is quite a fascinating process despite how creepy it is. Similar to the angler fish is the Viper Fish, which has a natural extra attachment that illuminates in the darkness of the sea with the purpose of attracting prey. The blob fish is a creature that you wonder what God was smoking or shooting up when he decided to create the blob fish. This fish has no bones, and literally just hangs out on the ocean floor and hopes that food comes to its mouth. Whether you want to worship the blob fish for its epic level of laziness or wonder how in the world the species is still in existence with such an apathetic demeanor, it’s still creepy to look at. Then we have the goblin shark, which is pretty much like the underwater version of the alien from the movie “Alien” due to its protruding mouth. The goblin shark has a large snout and needle-like teeth that are sharp and deadly. For a completely random sea creature, we have the Christmas Tree Worms, which really look like tiny walking fir trees that come in different colors. The branches or hair-like appendages help them breathe as well as consume phytoplankton. Then we have the sea pig, which looks nothing like the pigs we have on land. But instead the sea pig is a multi-tubed foot sea creature that is closely related to the sea cucumber. It eats by pulling water and absorbing organic food. Quite innovative, even though it looks creepy. For more creepy sea creatures, check out the rest of the video for more. 7 Most Giant Sea Creatures You've Ever Seen

09:46
What are the biggest creatures in the world? If you wanna find the true giants of this planet, you’ll need to head into the ocean. Without the force of gravity pulling them down, marine animals can reach unimaginable sizes. In fact, if you put some of them on land, they’d be crushed by their own weight! We're gonna tell you about 7 of the biggest sea creatures on Earth. TIMESTAMPS: The Giant Clam 1:37 The Giant Spider Crab 2:41 The Great White Shark 3:45 The Whale Shark 4:52 The Fin Whale 5:49 The Lion’s Mane Jellyfish 6:39 The Blue Whale 7:53 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - Giant Clams are the largest mollusks in the world. They can grow around 4 feet in length and weigh more than 440 pounds. - The giant spider crab lives in the waters near Japan. Their legs reach about 11.5 feet from claw to claw and the body can be around 14.5 inches in diameter, which is pretty small compared to their long long limbs. - The great white gets its name from its distinct white belly under its grey body. As for the “great” part, that’s simply because some of them can grow over 20 feet long! As for your average great white shark, it’s usually about 15 feet in length, making it the largest predatory fish in the world. - The whale sharks are covered in white spots that have a unique design for each individual shark. The whale shark ranges in size from 18 to 32.8 feet and can weigh about 20.6 tons. - The fin whale can get up to 85 feet long. That’s the length of two school buses! It can weigh up to 75 tons, which is about as much as a space shuttle! - The lion’s mane jellyfish can get up to 120 feet long, putting the lion’s mane jellyfish among the ranks of the world’s longest animals and certainly the largest jellyfish species. It likes to float in the open ocean, where it feeds on zooplankton, small crustaceans, fish, and even other types of jellyfish. - The blue whale is the largest animal this planet as ever seen, and it still swims the oceans today. They range from 82 feet to 105 feet in length and weigh up to a massive 200 tons. That’s as much as an empty Boeing 747! 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures

09:30
From Nemo, the clownfish, to the beautiful and elusive Blue Sea Slug, these are 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures ! 8. Blue Tang -- Undersea creatures seem to look really cool in blue … and this one is no exception. The Blue Tang shows off some amazing blue coloration complemented by bold black markings. It almost sounds like a fashion shows, right? These fish are usually found in Indo-Pacific waters and are actually bright yellow when they’re younger. The blue and black colors show up at their final phase of development. 7. Coral -- Is that a brain at the bottom of the ocean? No … but it is a brain coral … and just an example of the wide ranging variety of living coral and coral reefs, some of which are thought to have started growing over 50 million years ago. Contrary to some beliefs, coral are animals, not plants … they’re actually related to anemones and jellyfish. The reefs formed by coral provide housing for thousands of marine species, giving them a place to find food, reproduce, and keep them safe until they’re mature enough to venture into the deeper ocean. Did you know coral reef plants and animals have proven important to the development of new medicines to treat cancer, Alzheimer's and heart disease? But even with all those advantages, human activity is threatening almost 60 percent of the world’s coral reefs. 6. Flower Hat Jellyfish -- This rare species of jellyfish is a rare species usually found in the waters of southern japan, Argentina and Brazil. It can grow to a half-foot in diameter, and is easily recognizable by its translucent bell, which is pinstriped with opaque bands. Those coiling tentacles adhere to the rim while not in use. Like many pretty looking things, this jelly carries a sting … but even though it’s painful, it’s non-lethal to humans … the worst you’d get is a rash. 5. Blue Sea Slug -- We couldn’t find a lot of information on this critter. From what we’ve seen, it’s often identified as a Blue Sea Slug … but that sounds like a pedestrian name for such a colorful creature. You can see the brilliant blue coloration in this photo … the animal almost looks like an alien life form with the two antennae sticking up. We’re guessing it might be a Nudibranch (new-di-brank). Those mollusks are noted for their striking colors, and there are more than 2,300 validated species scattered about the world. Can you confirm that? Let us know in the comments! 4. Mantis Shrimp -- They’re one of the most colorful forms of marine life, but don’t be fooled. They’re also known as ferocious undersea predators that possess, pound for pound, one of the most powerful punches on the planet. Punching with speed equal to a .22 caliber bullet, the Mantis Shrimp has not only broken shells of its prey … it’s also broken through aquarium glass. Punching at that velocity makes water vaporize and explode with a sharp bang, a flash of light and extremely high heat, all of which is felt by the victim as an additional blast. Not bad for an animal that averages less than four inches long. 3. Juvenile Emperor Angelfish -- Their coloration will change with age … but while they’re young, they exhibit these amazing displays of swirling dark blue, white and electric blue. It almost look hypnotic, right? Well, the fish keeps these distinct patterns until it reaches maturity, which usually takes around 4 years. Then the fish develops blue and yellow stripes, and black shading around its eyes. 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiprioninae Clownfish -- Did you recognize them from “Finding Nemo”? Known as one of the most brightly colored fish in the world, their bodies have distinctive white striping with colors that can vary from red, orange or yellow. They’re also known as anemone fishes, because of their mutually beneficial relationship with sea anemones. The toxic tentacles of the anemones protect clownfish from predators. And the fast movement of the fishes helps anemones find food and increase circulation. 1. The Mandarinfish -- Also known as the “Mandarin Dragonet” it swims in the Pacific reefs … but it’s less than 3 inches long so it can be difficult to see in the wild. As you might guess, this fish is highly sought after in the aquarium trade … but they’re considered extremely difficult to their strict eating habits. Some people think the Mandarinfish might be the most beautiful fish in the world … would you agree? to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife

CUTEST And TINIEST Sea Creatures!

10:49
Check out the Most CUTE And TINY Sea Creatures! This top 10 list of smallest dea sea animals has some of the tiniest and cutest creatures you've ever seen! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "REAL Mermaid Sightings Around The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/ChM0CBRmVsM Watch our "10 Sea Monsters ATTACKING A Boat!" video here: https://youtu.be/0XROvoPCDNc Watch our "STRANGEST Animals People Keep As Pets!" video here: https://youtu.be/OMa96nPqz-Y 10. Baby Starfish Check out this little dude. Or dudette. It gets a little complicated because starfish can have both male and female anatomy all at once. That’s gonna make for a complicated discussion with the parents later in life. When he or she is bigger they’ll look a bit different, but for now let’s enjoy the sight of a squishy-looking baby starfish! 9. Baby Green Sea Urchin Sea urchins are among the most mysterious creatures of the sea. And they are prickly!! But just like any other creature they can be so cute when they’re young! An important thing you should know is that the urchin goes through an extraordinary transformation process that wouldn’t look out of place on a show like Star Trek. 8. Glaucus Atlanticus This creature looks just like a pokemon, doesn’t it?? Like a Pokemon, it’s sweet but can be dangerous. Another name for this fascinating critter, known as Glaucus Atlanticus is ‘blue dragon’, and dragons aren’t known for being friendly. But in this cute little tiny size, who can resist? Because they are so pretty! They are also known as blue angels and sea swallows. Full grown the can be up to 3 centimeters long. 7. Baby Octopus Nothing will make your day more than the sight of a baby octopus! So heartwarming! Which is interesting really because an octopus is born with three hearts! Plus it’s a baby octopus and practically any baby sea creature is bound to be cute. I just don’t have enough time in this video!! 6. Sea Bunny This is another case of something that looks downright adorable but is in fact deceptively badass. Still extremely cute though, right? Meet the Sea Bunny Slug which looks just like some kind of sweet and tiny, furry creature. Native to the Indo-Pacific Ocean, it’s a slug whose less adorable name is Jorunna parva. 5. Baby Frogfish The frogfish has a reputation as a famous undersea imitator. It has excellent camouflage and can blend in with its surroundings and fool both predators and prey. When it’s a baby however, it does a pretty good impression of something that’s super cute. Look at the little fella. Awww! 4. Little Nudibranch Well look who it is… a baby nudibranch. Hey there we were just talking about you! Seems to be a lot of little slugs in the ocean! Not that we’re complaining when you look this adorable. The name comes from ‘Nudibranchia’ meaning ‘naked gills’ which is kind of odd as their gills are feathery. 3. Baby Ghost Crab Of all the entries on this list, this one definitely has the most unappealing name. Ghost Crab sounds kind of spooky!! It has another name which is the “Mole Crab” which doesn’t exactly sell it to us. But what’s in a name! This little guy is considered by some to be very tiny and cute! 2. Baby Seahorse Baby seahorses are arguably the cutest thing you’ll find in the ocean. Want to know something that’ll make them seem even cuter? They’re the product of love, not just procreation. Well, we like to think of it that way! The male and the female stay together for life, and perform a kind of dance as part of a ritual each morning. How romantic! 1. Baby Sea Turtle Sea turtles are loved by just about everyone, but baby sea turtles? They give baby seahorses a run for their money!! The female sea turtles will make the tiresome journey to get to the sandy beach, dig a hole and lay up to 100 eggs. The sea turtles will then hatch and make a mad dash for the water, trying to avoid all kinds of predators from birds to foxes, to racoons, to the ghost crab. Amazing Underwater Marine Life

05:09
Amazing Underwater Marine Life Enjoy this relaxing underwater video from the philippines. Most of the time the ocean appears to be blue because this is the color our eyes see. But the ocean can be many other colors depending upon particles in the water, the depth of the water, and the amount of skylight. The colors we see depend upon the reflection of the visible wavelengths of light to our eyes. Wavelengths of light pass through matter differently depending on the material's composition. Blue wavelengths are transmitted to greater depths of the ocean, while red wavelengths are absorbed quickly. Water molecules scatter blue wavelengths by absorbing the light waves, and then rapidly reemitting the light waves in different directions. That is why there are mostly blue wavelengths that are reflected back to our eyes. Sometimes oceans look green. This may be because there is an abundance of plant life or sediment from rivers that flow into the ocean. The blue light is absorbed more and the yellow pigments from plants mix with the blue light waves to produce the color green. Sometimes parts of the oceans will look milky brown after a storm passes. This is because winds and currents associated with the storm churn up sand and sediment from the rivers that lead into the oceans. The ocean may also reflect the blue sky. However this is prominent only at relatively low angles and when the water is smooth. Apart from the blue ocean color the most interesting thing in the ocean are the marine animals living in this habitat. Also their color is without light that bright as we see it in underwater photographs or underwater DVD Videos. This film was filmed with dive lights mounted on a underwater video camera and shows spectacular colors of the ocean inhabitants the graceful marine creatures.

BIGGEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

10:56
Check out the biggest sea creatures around the world! This top 10 list of largest ocean animals on earth features some crazy monsters lurking in the deep sea! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most TERRIFYING Sea Monsters Ever!" video here: https://youtu.be/B9aPB6KB504 Watch our "CREEPY Fish From The Deep Sea!" video here: https://youtu.be/IjbRmTvO1_g Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg 10.) Fin Whale The fin whale is the second largest creature on Earth after the blue whale. It has been severely affected by commercial whaling and now it is rare to see one. If you have seen one, consider yourself lucky! They can grow as long as 89 feet (27 m) in length and can weigh between 40 to 80 tons! The maximum ever recorded weighed in at 114 tons!! They can live to be over 100 years old if left alone. The fin whale’s body is built for speed and it can even go faster than the fastest ocean steamship. It’s capable of speeds of up to 37 km/h but can go short bursts of even 47 km/h, earning it the nickname “greyhound of the sea”. Fin Whales have a very unique coloring with the right underside of their jaw, right lip, and the right side of their baleen being a yellowish-white, while the left-side is gray, making them look asymmetrical. Fun fact, fin whales and blue whales make the lowest frequency sounds of any animals. When they were first recorded by submarines, scientists thought they were tectonic plates grinding. Kind of makes you wonder about what is causing other mysterious ocean sounds! 9.) Portuguese Man of War While this is often considered a jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war is actually not an “it” but a “they”! It is made up of a colony of organisms called polyps that work together known as a siphonophore. While the tentacles can extend 165 feet (50 m), the average is about 30 feet (9 m) long. Still nothing to scoff at!! Also known as “the floating terror”, their body is between 5 inches to a foot wide (13 cm- 130 cm). They are usually found in groups of about a thousand or more, and have no independent means of movement. They either drift on the currents or catch the wind, so even though you should be super careful of jellyfish, they aren’t ever out to get you on purpose! The tentacles on a man-of-war are extremely venomous and very painful if you get stung but they are rarely deadly. The venom is typically used to paralyze their prey, such as small fish and other smaller creatures. Also keep in mind that a man-of-war does not need to be alive in order to give off a powerful sting, even if it has washed up on shore and looks dead, it can still sting you! The Portuguese man-of-war floats around the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Indian and Pacific. So keep an eye out if you are swimming around these areas! 8.) Giant Clam The giant clam is the largest living bivalve mollusk on earth. (Bivalve mollusks include clams, oysters, and mussels). Native to the warm waters of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, giant clams are capable of growing an average of 4 feet (1 m) in length and weighing close to 500 pounds (250 kg)! However, some species of clams have been known to grow as long as 6 feet. The large majority of a giant clam’s mass is in its shell, with the soft parts accounting for only approximately 10% of the weight. Giant clams are now endangered because they apparently are also quite delicious and have been hunted for centuries for its healthy protein. The giant clam has one chance to find its perfect home because once it chooses its spot, it stays there for the rest of its life. They can live up to 100 years or more, as long as they are in the wild. Most of the giant clams you see today have been raised in captivity and are really popular in large aquariums. Giant clams achieve their enormous proportions by consuming the sugars and proteins produced by the billions of algae that live in their tissues. This symbiotic relationship protects the algae and they are responsible for the unique coloration. No two giant clams are alike! 7.) Great White Shark According to National Geographic, great white sharks are the largest predatory fish in the world. They grow to an average of 15 feet (4.6 m) in length. However, there have been some who have grown to 20 feet (6 m) in length! In fact, the largest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to be 26 feet long, which is more than half the length of a basketball court. Combine this with a bunch of teeth, and this is why people get so scared. They are known to weigh up to 5,000 pounds (2268 kg). The heaviest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to weigh in at a whopping 7,328 pounds. . Top 20 Largest Sea Creatures that EVER Existed!

From giant sharks to huge whales there are some amazing large sea monsters that have inhabited our oceans. You'll be amazed by this list of the Top 20 Largest Sea Creatures that EVER Existed! Thalattoarchon - As of this video, not a whole lot is known about the Thalattoarchon, considering it was only discovered about 4 years ago. Thalassomedon - If the Loch Ness monster was real, then cross your fingers that it isn’t a Thalassomedon. Giant Pacific Octopus - At up to 30 feet long, from head to the tip of its tentacles, and weighing anywhere around 130 to 165 lbs. Nothosaurus - The Nothosaurus were notorious predators during the Triassic era, as they are known to have been blitz hunters, in that they preferred attacking swiftly and by surprise to capture their prey. Giant Squid - Jaekelopterus - The Jaekelopterus is the kind of creature that you can usually find in science fiction stories. Tanystropheus - At 20 feet long and with a weight clocking around at only 0.4 tons, the Tanystropheus doesn’t look like it’s much of a threat compared to the other creatures on this list. Giant Oarfish - Oarfish are a pretty rare sight in the world today, which gave way to the superstition that there’s a disaster coming when they wash ashore. Liopleurodon - The Liopleurodon is the perfect poster boy for nightmares that could be found in the oceans prehistoric or otherwise. Dakosaurus - This monster from the Jurassic period is believed by experts to be similar to modern day crocodiles. Edestus - The Edestus is a prehistoric shark that lived around 300 million years ago, in an era known as the Carboniferus period. Shastasaurus - The Shastasaurus is another one of the Triassic period’s giant marine monsters. This 65-foot long reptile belonged to the Ichthyosaur family and weighed somewhere around 5 tons. Mosasaurus - If you've seen Jurassic world, you'll recognize this creature. Though, back when it was alive, it was a surface dweller, rather than a performing monkey at an extremely dangerous amusement park. Tylosaurus - The Tylosaurus is what you could call a close cousin of the Mosasaurus. young.Whale Shark - Whale sharks, if anything, hold the right to bear the title of “gentle giant.” Sperm Whale - Sperm whales can grow up to lengths of 67 feet and can weigh approximately 45 tons. Basilosaurus - Despite its name suggesting that it’s a reptile, the Basilosaurus is actually an ancestor of the modern day whale. Fin Whale - Fin Whales are known as the second-largest animal in the world, which is just right behind the Blue Whale – another entry in this list – in terms of size. Blue Whale - Blue whales are the largest animals known to man. Standing at around 90 feet long, with a weight reaching up to 200 tons, these aquatic marvels are also becoming rarer and rarer in the world today. Megalodon - Despite being slightly smaller than the blue whale, its maximum size is still heavily debated, and given its ferociousness, you'd probably be frightened into thinking it was bigger than any other creature in this video.

At a fundamental level, marine life helps determine the very nature of our planet. Marine organisms produce much of the oxygen we breathe. Shorelines are in part shaped and protected by marine life, and some marine organisms even help create new land. Most life forms evolved initially in marine habitats. Oceans provide about 99 percent of the living space on the planet. The earliest vertebrates appeared in the form of fish, which live exclusively in water. Some of these evolved into amphibians which spend portions of their lives in water and portions on land. Other fish evolved into land mammals and subsequently returned to the ocean as seals, dolphins or whales. Plant forms such as kelp and algae grow in the water and are the basis for some underwater ecosystems. Plankton, and particularly phytoplankton, are key primary producers forming the general foundation of the ocean food chain. Marine vertebrates must obtain oxygen to survive, and they do so in various ways. Fish have gills instead of lungs, although some species of fish, such as the lungfish, have both. Marine mammals, such as dolphins, whales, otters, and seals need to surface periodically to breathe air. Some amphibians are able to absorb oxygen through their skin. Invertebrates exhibit a wide range of modifications to survive in poorly oxygenated waters including breathing tubes (see insect and mollusc siphons) and gills (Carcinus). However, as invertebrate life evolved in an aquatic habitat most have little or no specialisation for respiration in water. Altogether there are 230,000 documented marine species, including over 16,000 species of fish, and it has been estimated that nearly two million marine species are yet to be documented. Marine species range in size from the microscopic, including plankton and phytoplankton which can be as small as 0.02 micrometres, to huge cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) which in the case of the blue whale reach up to 33 metres (109 feet) in length, being the largest known animal.

10 Biggest Sea Creatures

09:41
From an unbelievable monster squid, to the massive Blue Whale … Here are 10 of the World’s Biggest Sea Creatures! Lion’s Mane Jellyfish This is considered the largest species of jellyfish on the planet. The largest recorded specimen had a bell that measured more than 7.5 feet … and tentacles over 120 feet long. They use their stinging tentacles to capture and eat prey like fish and smaller jellyfish. They come in a variety of colors, and tend to favor cold water environments from the Arctic to the Northern Pacific Oceans. Both of those qualities were captured on film by Alexander Semenov … a marine biologist who took a series of stunning photographs featuring the massive jelly. He had occasion to take the pictures while diving in the remote waters of the White Sea Biological Station on the coast of western Russia. Diving in waters of minus-2 degrees Celsius, the environment is clear enough to see 40 meters underwater. That yielded these images that give the creature an alien look, as it's thin tentacles billow about, searching for prey. Did you know that larger specimens of these jellyfish are usually purple … while smaller, younger jellies are often lighter orange or tan. Monster Squids Giant squids are deep ocean creatures that are said to grow up to 43 feet long … that’s second only to the length of the Colossal Squid, estimated at some 46 feet and can weigh more than 1,600 pounds. They’re two of the largest living organisms in the world, and are often thought to be the real-life basis of the mythical Kraken. In 2015, Russian fishermen encountered a gigantic squid that tried to feast on a fish they were hauling to their vessel. You can see images of the squid captured from video. The men prodded the creature with poles and seemed to drive it away, but it kept grabbing at the fish with its beak. After battling back and forth with the immense creature, it finally gave up and swam away. But in all the confusion, it was never established whether the cephalopod was a giant squid or a colossal squid. We found this photo, but not a whole lot of information to go with it. It’s said to be a huge creature -- obviously -- that was caught in Cambodia. We haven’t been able to identify the location, but it does appear that the animal is surrounded by net fishermen … Although it seems those folks would need more than a net to capture a beast that size! We tend to think this picture may have been manipulated. For one thing, the creature seems to be laying on the bottom of what appears to be a rather shallow pond … so how would it be able to swim to that location? We’re not 100% convinced on this one … What do you think? Blue Whale This is an easy choice for the second spot … the Blue whale is the largest animal known to have ever existed! Because of their massive size, the animals are difficult to weigh … but the heaviest estimated weight recorded was around 191 tons, although experts feel the creatures could easily weigh 200 tons or more. The greatest recorded length for a blue whale was around 104ft. These animals have a diet made up mostly of krill … and they can put away some 40 million krill -- or the near equivalent of 8,000 lbs -- each day. Did you know Blue Whales belong to the same family as Humpback Whales? What sea creature could possibly be bigger than the blue whale? Well, the answer could be … the sea itself! That’s according to a study conducted by the University of Illinois. It suggests that the sea became a type of global ‘mega-organism’ that covered the Earth some 3 billion years before giving rise to the progenitors of all living creatures today. Scientists refer to this massive organism as LUCA (L-U-C-A) … it’s an acronym for ‘Last Universal Common Ancestor’. And the study indicates that LUCA is traceable to every domain of life … including animals, plants and fungi (fun-jie). Experts say it was this mega-organism that filled the Earth’s oceans, and became a type of global genetic exchange for cells that struggled to survive on their own. Those cells freely swapped their genes and proteins with one another for hundreds of millions of years, giving rise to a massive single organism … which eventually split into the domains of bacteria, eukaryotes (you-kare-ee-oats), and archaea (ar-kee-uh). As cells evolved ways of providing for their own existence, LUCA was broken apart … giving rise to the birth of all things living today!
