How to Create a Brand Identity – Feminine Brand Without Script Fonts

03:19
Want to create a feminine brand identity, but without pink or script fonts? It's totally possible! You can have a feminine brand without the obvious design choices that so many people use. At the end of the day though, your brand can be feminine because of the pictures you choose and the way you talk. It's not just about your brand fonts and brand color choices. Those things definitely can help, but it's not the ONLY solution. To create a feminine brand, use rounder edged fonts, pastel colors, or even bold colors. --- ► Make sure to subscribe for future videos! ► website: http://www.jesscreatives.com ► facebook: http://facebook.com/jesscreativesdesign ► instagram: http://instagram.com/jesscreatives --- Videos edited by: http://www.easypeasystudio.com Music: http://www.purple-planet.com

Brand identity guidelines. A walk through guide of a brand identity / logo guidelines document.

07:11
I've had many requests to do a video where I run through an example of a brand identity guidelines document. So, I am happy to oblige :) Brand identity or logo guidelines as they can often be referred to; are a useful way of quickly accessing technical details about your logo such as colour codes and font types. They are also a way of making sure that your logo is always presented in the way that it is intended, no matter who is using it. Stay Creative! Free Fonts versus Paid Fonts - Which is best?

08:15
You’ve got this great idea for a new piece of marketing. You’ve pulled together the images, the layout is great, and then you need to choose a font. This is where a lot of people ruin all their hard work through a poor choice of font. The right font choice can make your marketing piece epic, or, make it look like a dog turd. In the same way that colour and imagery affect emotion in your design, fonts and typography can too. One of the biggest decisions is, "Do I need to spend money on a font or can I use a free one?" There are pros and cons to both, so let's find out what they are. Blog version of this video: https://pixelsink.com/free-fonts-versus-paid-fonts Stay Creative! Gaziantep Font City Branding Case - I Mean It Creative

02:26
Gaziantep, the sixth largest Turkish City, situated at the Turkish-Syrian border, had been dealing with a refugee crisis of epic proportions. The City, which has a population of 1.5 million, was pressured to absorb 300 thousand refugees. Such a rapid population boom threatened the survival of the millennia-old Gaziantep cultural heritage. I Mean It was hired to pronounce, protect, and promote the culture of the city. Upon completion of the strategic process, we kicked off the design phase to create a holistic brand identity, which also included creating a custom-made font for the brand. The proprietary font, which we named, “Gaziantep,” was based on a particular grid system. To ease the adoption, we made the typeface available to the public free of charge. Download the font here.

Bynder Brand Identity Guidelines Tour

03:36
Our brand guidelines module acts as a style guide to help to enforce brand consistency within your organisation. Finding information within the brand guidelines module is quick and easy. Elements of your brand such as your logo, fonts used on the website and the colours that form your brand are segmentable. This means that the user can find guidance on the part of the brand they're dealing with, as fast as possible. In the past, brands have been constrained to hosting their brand guidelines on a pdf, or another form of static document. This means that whenever the brand guidelines are updated, the pdf must be redistributed to all parties concerned. With the Bynder brand guidelines module, the brand guidelines are hosted in one easily accessible place. This means that any changes are automatically available to all stakeholders, without the need to redistribute the brand guidelines. Sharing the brand guidelines with other members of your team has now been made easier. By clicking a share icon within the brand guidelines, an email window will appear with a link directly to your guidelines. Converting the guidelines to pdf is also an option within the module. This might be useful if you want to share the guidelines with an external stakeholder, such as a PR agency, to ensure that your branding stays consistent across their work too. Brand guidelines can also integrate with the Bynder digital asset management module. This opens up a whole avenue of ways to easily import assets into your brand guidelines. The inclusion of these visual assets means that the guidelines offer a more in-depth understanding of how your brand should be presented. For example, the different backgrounds that your logo should not be presented on, as well as the specific font type and text colour that your brand requires.

Typography Tutorial - 10 rules to help you rule type

03:35
Graphic Design Tutorial: 10 Typography rules to help you improve your type skills. Get better at graphic design by understanding how to use type. Improve your layouts instantly by following these 10 easy to follow rules. How can you quickly apply typographic rules to regain control of your layouts by following these 10 golden rules of typography? These rules are distilled down from the things that I learned by going to Art Center College of Design. Generally speaking, there are two types of typography– expressive typography (type is visual, carries the meaning of the word and sometimes appears as physical shapes) and functional typography (type that is meant to be read). I will focus on the latter. When starting out, it is best to learn the fundamentals of good design: hierarchy (primary, secondary and tierchiary reads), flow (how a person “reads” the layout by following the movement of their attention), legibility (in Western culture, type is read top to bottom, left to right so it’s important to arrange type accordingly), grouping (organizing blocks of type in intelligent and logical groups) and interest, achieved through contrast (scale, texture, color, density, negative space). Use any typeface you like as long as it’s one of the following: Akzidenz Grotesque, Avenir, Avant Garde, Bell Gothic, Bodoni, Bembo, Caslon, Clarendon, Courier, Din Mittelschrift, Franklin Gothic, Frutiger, Futura, Garamond, Gill Sans, Gotham, Helvetica, Letter Gothic, Memphis, Meta, OCRB, Rockwell, Sabon, Trade Gothic, Trajan and Univers. _________________________________________________________________ Great books to learn more about typography: Stop Stealing Sheep & Find Out How Type Works by Erik Spiekermann http://amzn.to/2iNXwC8 Josef Müller Brockmann Pioneer of Swiss Graphic Design http://amzn.to/2k7o5Yb Typography Manual @2017 Chris Do https://blind.com/blog/typography-manual/ _________________________________________________________________ Animation by: Leo Dinh Red Cat Motion http://redcatmotion.com Music and sound design by: Adam Sanborne http://adamsanborne.com _ Listen to our podcast on iTunes: The Futur https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-futur/id1152604340?mt=2 Android Stitcher http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/aaron/the-futur HOW TO SUPPORT THE FUTUR: Purchase a Kit: http://theskool.co/collections/all or subscribe to the secret and private Master mind group on Facebook with exclusive videos not released anywhere else. What You Need To Know About Brand Mapping with Karen Leland

20:49
A lot of people think of branding as either the visuals or what we call the brand identity - the logo, the website, the colors, or the fonts. Some think of branding as an elevator pitch, their one or two-sentence thing they say about their brand. Karen Leland, founder of the branding and marketing strategy firm, Sterling Marketing Group, says both are an important part of your brand, but they're just the tip of the iceberg. In her book, The Brand Mapping Strategy, Karen gives people all the under-parts of the iceberg and the ocean around it that is equally important for people to know about their brand in order to effectively design a strategy to start to put that into motion.

What makes a truly great logo

04:45
Here's how a simple mark ends up meaning something big as a great logo. Joe Posner, and Michael Bierut (designer of the Hillary Clinton logo) explain. For more from Michael Bierut on graphic design, check out his book "How to use graphic design to sell things, explain things, make things look better, make people laugh, cry, and (every once in a while) change the world": http://www.amazon.com/How-Michael-Bierut/dp/0062413902 Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO About once a month, there's a new logo to fight about on the internet. The biggest one in recent memory was the highly controversial Hillary Clinton logo, which did not escape scrutiny from Vox.com either. But as a designer/filmmaker, something about these repeated discussions struck me as missing the point on what makes logos tick. It often has little to do with the subjective musings. So I called up Michael Bierut, the designer of that Hillary Clinton logo and countless others. He sat down with me and helped explain the elements of a great logo in the video above.
