Apparently there's not enough room on the sea...Captains are humans too and sometimes mistakes are made and accidents and crashes happen. But since ships are big and strong its not as bad as car crashes. In this video you will see big container ships, cruise ships, tankers and a few smaller boats and sail boats going a bit of course and... crashing or... just having close calls and near miss!

Aviation Disasters And Plane Crashes In History: Lauda Air Flight 004 - 223 dead: On 26 May 1991 flight 004 from Bangkok to Vienna broke up in the air near the Burma-Thailand border after the thrust reverser on the left wing fired. Reports indicate that it’s subsequent dive could have exceeded mach 1 (the sound barrier). There were no survivors. China Airlines Flight 611 - 225 dead: On 25 May 2002 flight 611 from Taiwan to Hong Kong disintegrated mid flight due to faulty repairs 22 years earlier. Korean Air Flight 801 - 228 dead: Despite protests from the flight engineer that the captain was not detecting the correct signal for landing, he pressed on and guided flight 801 from Seoul, South Korea directly into the Guam mountainside leaving only 26 survivors. Air France Flight 447 - 228 dead: 1 June 2009 flight 447 disappeared on its way to Paris from Rio de Janeiro. Although the wreckage was found after 5 days the black box was recovered 2 years later. The cause was found to be an inappropriate pilot response to faulty air speed indicators due to bad weather conditions and ice. Swissair Flight 111 - 229 dead:On 2 September 1998 Swissair flight 111 from New York to Geneva crashed into the ocean just off of Nova Scotia due to a rapidly spreading cockpit fire. 9/11 flights:Although not a single air disaster, the four flights involved in 9/11 were responsible for the greatest single day loss of life in commercial aviation history. Two of the flights, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 each were responsible for thousands of casualties after being driven into the World Trade Centers and are considered the largest and second largest losses of life due to individual plane crashes in all of aviation history with 1700 and 1000 people killed respectively. Tenerife Airport Disaster - 583 dead: In terms of passengers and crew killed this collision between two Boeing 747s on the Spanish Island of Tenerife is considered the deadliest plane crash in history. Japan Airlines Flight 123 - 520 dead:On August 12, 1985 a flight from Tokyo to Osaka crashed into Mount Takamagahara leaving only 4 survivors. Charkhi Dadri mid-air collision - 349 dead: The deadliest mid-air collision in history, Saudi Arabian airlines and Kazakhstan airlines crashed just west of New Delhi killing everyone on both planes. An investigation found that once again a lack of English language skills on behalf of the Kazakh pilots was the primary cause. Ermenonville air disaster - 346 dead:After a Moroccan baggage handler was unable to read the proper latching instructions in either English or Turkish on Turkish airlines flight 981, the latch blew off mid flight as the plane crashed into Ermonville forest near Paris, France. Furthermore, the latches had a known design flaw. Air India Flight 182 - 329 dead:On the 23 of June, 1985 a bomb exploded onboard Air India Flight 182 as it was flying between London and Montreal. The plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of Ireland. A Canadian Sikh militant group was responsible. Saudia Flight 163 - 301 dead:This flight from Rihadh to Jeddah caught fire shortly after takeoff. It turned around and made an emergency landing but everyone on board died of smoke inhalation before fire crews could get inside. The fire was started due to butane stoves used by Muslim pilgrims because of their strict dietary restrictions. Saudi Arabia has since banned the stoves but some people still smuggle them onboard to make tea. Iran Air Flight 655 - 290 dead: During the Iraq-Iran war on July 3, 1988 the USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air Flight 665 going between Tehran and Dubai due to confused communications. American Airlines Flight 191 - 273 dead:Just moments after takeoff the left engine of Flight 191 from Chicago to Los Angeles came off. The plane rolled, turned upside down and crashed into a field. A firefighter on the scene was quoted as saying that not a single complete body was found. Amateur photos of the crash sparked a media firestorm condemning the DC-10’s poor safety record.

Here are the worst & most famous ship wreck disasters. These shipwrecked boats & ships have caused some of the worst historic tragedies in the history of sailing. What's lurks at the bottom of the sea with the Titanic worth £200,000,000? Find out today at http://theywillkillyou.com/rumors-fortune-within-titanic/ Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 5: The Sultana April 27th, 1865: steamship Sultana explodes on the Mississippi River, killing roughly 1,800 people on board, including a group of recently paroled Union prisoner of war soldiers. This incident holds the distinction of the deadliest maritime disaster in U.S. history. However, since it happened at the tail-end of the Civil War & was overshadowed by the recent assassination of Abraham Lincoln, the event is often forgotten in the annals of American history. The Sultana was just two years old when she was making her fateful trek from St. Louis to New Orleans. Although she was meant to carry only 376 passengers, she was carrying over 2,000 people on this particular journey as the ship's captain, J. Cass Mason, was hoping to receive bribes for returning the prisoners of war back north. During the journey, however, one of the ship’s boilers sprang a leak. It therefore pulled into the harbor of Vicksburg, Mississippi in order to undergo repairs. Mason was told that in order to properly fix the boiler it would need to replaced; an undertaking which would last a few days. The captain knew that if that were the case, the soldiers would be sent home on different boats, costing him thousands of dollars in potential revenue. So instead, Captain Mason decided to have the boiler only partially repaired in order to finish the journey as soon as possible. Because it was already severely overloaded, the Sultana caught fire during the early morning hours of April 27th when the damaged boiler exploded. The explosion hurled many of the crew & passengers into the water, while parts of the deck collapsed & caught fire in the furnace below. Its passengers—many of whom were soldiers already weakened from their time in prison camps—tried escaping into the water, but soon found it hard to swim against the current. Thus, many of them died from either drowning or from hypothermia. Also included in the long list of deaths was Captain Mason himself. 4: The Doña Paz & Vector Collision December 20th, 1987: one of the deadliest maritime disasters in history occurs when the passenger ferry Doña Paz collides with the oil tanker, Vector, near the Philippines's capital city of Manila. Of the estimated 4,386 people on board, only 26 survived. The Doña Paz was only supposed to hold 1,500 people. But for reasons that still remain unclear, it was carrying over 4,000 passengers & crew members on that particular voyage, many of whom were not registered passengers. Furthermore, the ship did not have nearly enough life jackets for everyone aboard, & the ones they did have were locked away. Reports also show that the Doña Paz did not have any radios to communicate with the coast guard or with nearby ships in the case of an emergency. Additionally, the Vector was also said to be unfit for the sea, as it had no license or experienced captain on board. It was carrying over 8,000 barrels of oil when it collided with the Doña Paz. Based on survivors' testimonies, the crash caused pandemonium on both vessels as neither were prepared to handle an emergency. Most of the Doña Paz's crew was said to be drinking beer in their recreation cabin while the captain was supposedly watching a movie in his own cabin. To make matters worse, the crash started a fire on board the Vector that quickly spread to the Doña Paz. Even the water near the ships ignited in flames as thousands of gallons of oil poured into the sea. As the Doña Paz's crew panicked, passengers tried escaping into the fiery waters, which were also known to be shark infested. It took 16 hours before a rescue mission could be organized & in the end, more than 4,000 people lost their lives. 3: The PS General Slocum From 1891 until her ultimate demise in 1904, the PS General Slocum was known for her frequent mishaps. Within her first month of voyages, she ran aground & had to be rescued by tugboats. In 1894 alone she was grounded on three separate occasions. Then in 1901, she collided with another ship. But on June 15th, 1904, the PS General Slocum caught fire & sank in New York City’s East River, killing just over 1,000 people. The ordeal stands as the worst maritime disaster in New York City's history & was the city’s deadliest event up until the September 11th terrorist attacks of 2001. For most of her existence, the ship served as a passenger boat, taking people on excursions all around New York. Its last tour saw a fire start in the lamp room of the ship, which contained oily rags & straw that spread the flames around quickly. The ship’s captain, Van Schaick, became aware of the fire

We've been following developments since it happened and we're prepared for any unforeseen situations. We have a rescue team and divers onboard. The weather conditions are so bad that we're having difficulty intervening. But we're prepared and we'll see what happens." 5. Wide of ship with Coast Guard boat in front STORYLINE: A Sierra Leone-flagged ship was listing after a collision with two other cargo ships off the coast of Istanbul on Friday. Turkey's state-run Anadolu Agency said the ship was at risk of sinking after brushing against two anchored ships while trying to moor in strong winds. Dogan news agency footage shows the Sierra Leone-flagged Kayan-1, carrying containers, tilting on its right side Friday as crew members pumped out water that apparently seeped in through a crack. According to officials, there were 18 crew members on board and no casualties were reported. Salih Orakci, Turkey's Director General for Coastal Safety, blamed bad weather for the collision. Maritime authorities dispatched coast guard boats to help the 86-metre (282-feet) freighter as a tugboat waited nearby to tow it. Authorities have cancelled several scheduled ferry trips in the Sea of Marmara and in the Bosphorus, the narrow waterway that bisects Istanbul, due to strong winds and high seas. This video shows you that South China Sea Showdown: What Happens If a U.S. Navy and Chinese Vessel Collide? Support Us: Power Bank: https://amzn.to/2M1HHqi Sony Headphone: https://amzn.to/2Qa0KlC Redmi 5: https://amzn.to/2wHzXUw What would happen should a U.S. Navy warship collide with a Chinese vessel while demonstrating on behalf of freedom of the sea? This hasn’t been a trivial or hypothetical question since at least April 2001, when a Chinese fighter jet hotdogging near a U.S. Navy EP-3 surveillance plane slammed into the American aircraft, kindling a diplomatic crisis between the Chinese Communist Party leadership and the newly installed administration of President George W. Bush. This aerial encounter furnished advance warning of what might happen on the surface below. Last weekend the question took on new urgency. On Sunday morning a People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) Type 052C destroyer cut across the bow of the destroyer USS Decatur as Decatur made a close pass by Gaven Reef in the South China Sea. Estimates vary, but it appears the PLAN ship passed somewhere within 45 feet and 45 yards of its American counterpart—compelling the Decatur bridge crew to maneuver to avoid collision. The imagery is striking. Whatever the actual range, terming this conduct “unsafe and unprofessional”—in the U.S. Pacific Command’s anodyne phrasing—understates how close the vessels came to disaster. Most such incidents involve the rules of the maritime road: who gets to steam and fly where, and what may seafarers and aviators do along their way? Think of the encounter off Gaven Reef as an exchange of point and counterpoint in an armed conversation about who makes the rules governing the use of sea and sky and who obeys them. And the point of this conversation isn’t merely to impress Chinese and American audiences. It’s to make an impression on foreign audiences able to influence the outcome of the U.S.-China struggle over freedom of the sea. Audiences such as Vietnam and the Philippines, stakeholders in the maritime disputes roiling the region. Such as Australia and India, friends that incline to stand beside a resolute America but might stand aside should Beijing successfully brand Washington as vacillating and untrustworthy. And such as France and Great Britain, extraregional players whose governments are increasingly vocal about the common and whose navies increasingly share the burden of upholding nautical liberty. Europeans are speaking up—and showing up in embattled waters to back their words with steel. China calls its opinion-shaping enterprise the “ three warfares ” and prosecutes it through legal, psychological, and media means on a 24/7/365 basis. Three-warfares efforts have a passive-aggressive cast to them: Beijing tries to depict itself as a put-upon Asian power facing a domineering United States and as a masterful defender of Chinese sovereignty and dignity vis-à-vis a hapless U.S. Navy. It flirts with doublethink. Albanian/Nat 80 Albanians are feared dead following the collision between an Albanian ship and an Italian Navy vessel off Brindisi Friday night. As hopes fade of finding more survivors, relatives of some of the victims have been speaking about the loss of their loved ones. Albanian authorities in Vlora have published a list of victims to quell panic among its citizens who fear their relatives may be missing at sea. Another tragedy to add to Albania's suffering. 80 people are feared dead following the sinking of an Albanian ship carrying refugees off Brindisi. As relatives in Albania fear the worst, one family mourns the death of six of its members. Two brothers lost their wives and children. Vironi and Krenari Xhavari were on board the fated ship with their wives and children. They survived only to find their children and wives drowned Male and Female members of the distraught family conduct its grieving in separate rooms. They look at photographs of their daughter and grandchildren. Shown here in the photograph is 31-year-old Mimoza and her two five-year-old twins and their ten year-old sister. Their six-month-old baby cousin also died. Desperation among the Albanian refugees, who fled to Italy, for a better life is evident. Mimoza's father was unaware of his daughter's escape to Italy. But he said his daughter hoped for an end to her financial problems which she faced in Albania. SOUNDBITE: (Albanian) "My daughter didn't tell me that she was fleeing on this ship with the children - if she'd told me we would have stopped her. She went to Italy because her and her husband were in debt so they were hoping to escape their financial problems. They were just trying to go and earn a living in order to pay back those debts". SUPER CAPTION: Dalip Maliqi, father of Mimoza Maliqi one of the victims A list of survivors, sent by the Italian Embassy in Tirana, has been pasted up in Vlora. Extensive debris has washed up on islands off the Dutch north coast after some 270 containers including chemicals fell off a cargo ship in a storm. As the extent of pollution became clear on five islands including Terschelling, coastguards searched the North Sea for missing containers. The cargo fell off the MSC Zoe near the German island of Borkum, but the tide carried many of them to the south-west. Initial images showed children's toys and TVs on Dutch beaches. But officials said three containers carried toxic substances, and Dutch and German coastguards warned local people to steer clear of them. One of those containers had a cargo of peroxide powder, and a 25kg bag of the chemical was found on the island of Schiermonnikoog on Thursday, along with several containers and their contents. The Panama-registered ship is described as the biggest in Europe, with a potential cargo of 19,000 containers. As Storm Zeetje buffeted northern Germany with gale force winds late on Tuesday night, 270 containers of Zoe's cargo fell off the ship as it made its way through the Wadden Sea from the Belgian port of Antwerp.

On Nov. 5, 2018, a U.S. EP-3 Aries aircraft flying in international airspace over the Black Sea was intercepted by a Russian SU-27. This interaction was determined to be unsafe due to the SU-27 conducting a high speed pass directly in front of the mission aircraft, putting at risk the pilots and crew. The intercepting SU-27 made an additional pass, closing with the EP-3 and applying its afterburner while conducting a banking turn away. The crew of the EP-3 reported turbulence following the first interaction, and vibrations from the second. The duration of the intercept was approximately 25 minutes. While the Russian military is within its right to exercise within international airspace, this interaction was irresponsible. We expect them to behave within international standards set to ensure safety and to prevent incidents, including the 1972 Agreement for the Prevention of Incidents On and Over the High Seas (INCSEA). Unsafe actions increase the risk of miscalculation and potential for midair collisions. The U.S. aircraft was operating in accordance with international law and did not provoke this Russian activity.

Originally published on January 5, 2015. A cargo ship bound for Germany from the UK was deliberately grounded by its crew when it began to list after setting sail on Saturday. The Singapore-registered Hoegh Osaka developed problems immediately after it left Southampton loaded with more than 1,000 cars on Saturday evening. The 51,000-tonne vessel was grounded on Bramble Bank, a sandbank off the Isle of Wight, at around 9:20 p.m. and is currently listing at about 52 degrees. The BBC reports that is unclear as to what caused the initial listing. All 25 crew members were rescued by helicopters and lifeboats. The ship’s owner, Hoegh Autoliners, is investigating potential causes of the listing. Responding to questions about whether the ship was too heavy, Ingar Skiakar, chief executive of Hoegh Autoliners, says that the cargo vessel is only one-third full. The cargo consists of approximately 1,400 vehicles, ranging from standard vehicles such as vans and cars to more specialized heavy machinery such as excavators and lorry trailers. Also included in the cargo are 70 to 80 construction pieces. A 200-metre exclusion zone has been put in place while a salvage team works to formulate a salvage plan. There have been no reports of pollution leaking from the stricken vessel. The UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency has appointed the salvage company Svitzer to assess damages, to determine whether or not any of the cargo shifted in such a way that could have caused the listing, and to create the salvage plan. The salvage operation is expected to take several days. The vessel could potentially be refloated on the next tide, or equipment could be brought in to right the vessel and remove it.

From the Swissair Flight 111, to the Tenerife Airport Accident, these are the 11 Biggest Airplane Accidents ! Learn about the BIGGEST of everything Monday, Wednesday, and Friday just subscribe! # 7 American Airlines Flight 191 Just moments after the takeoff of Flight 191 on May 25, 1979, the plane barrel rolled and crashed into the ground. The left wing had engine malfunctioned, causing it to lift above the right wing and ultimately start rolling out of control. It crashed into an open field in Des Plaines, Illinois. The crash resulted in 273 deaths on board which include 2 victims on the ground. # 6 Korean Air Flight 801 On August 6, 1997, Korean Air Flight 801 crashed in the US territory of Guam killing 228 of the 254 passengers on board. The flight was scheduled August 5-6 to take a team of Guamanian athletes to the South Pacific Mini Games in American Samoa when it crashed. The flight was under the command of 42-year-old Captain Park Yong-Chul who was one of the most experienced and capable fliers in the industry. However, due to heavy rain affecting visibility, the plane landed three nautical miles short of a landing strip. The flight engineer warned the pilots that the airplane was not in sight despite beginning a steep descent slope. Eventually, the vessel would fly directly into the mountain resulting in a crash. # 5 TWA Flight 800 Trans World Airlines Flight 800, also known as TWA Flight 800 was a Boeing 747-100 that exploded in the middle of its flight and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near East Moriches, New York. It happened on July 17, 1996, at 8:31 PM, just 12 minutes after takeoff from JFK International Airport. Many believed that the explosion was caused by a terrorist attack that resulted in all 230 people on board dying. A four-year investigation concluded that the explosion wasn’t caused by terrorists, but rather an explosion of flammable fuel/air vapors in a fuel tank that may have been caused by a short circuit. However, conspiracy theories about the flight are pervasive as many don’t believe the inconclusive cause of the crash. # 4 Lauda Air flight 004 Lauda Air flight 004 was an international passenger flight that crashed on May 26th, 1991 due to an unintended deployment of a thrust reverse in the middle of the flight. The crash resulted in the death of 213 passengers and 10 of the onboard crew. The plane’s reverse thrusters deployed while traveling over the mountainous jungle area in Thailand. The crew did not take sufficient action when they received a warning that the thrusters had deployed and the plane fell into a diving left turn. # 3 Pan Am Flight 103 Lockerbie Bombing Pan Am Flight 103 was a normal scheduled flight on December 21st, 1998 from Frankfurt to Detroit but during the transatlantic leg of the route it was destroyed by a bomb and would be known as the Lockerbie Bombing. The plane crashed onto residential areas of Lockerbie Scotland and killing 11 people on the ground, and all 259 people on board including the crew. A three-year investigation revealed that two Libyan national were responsible for the bombing and that it was likely in collaboration with Muammar Gaddafi. # 2 1996 Air Africa Crash The 1996 Air Africa crash occurred on January 8th when an overloaded aircraft from Moscow Airways bound in for Kahemba Airport severely overshot the runway and plowed directly into the nearby street market. Four out of the 6 onboard crew members survived but the crash resulted in 225 fatalities and 253 serious injuries on the ground as a result of the plane plowing through. This is the largest number of non-passenger deaths as a result of an airplane crash in history. # 1 Tenerife Airport Disaster On March 27, 1977, two Boeing 747 passenger jets crashed together on the runway of Tenerife North Airport in Spain. A bomb explosion at Gran Canaria Airport with the threat of a second bomb caused many aircrafts to be diverted to the Tenerife North Airport. Two of these included the KLM Flight 4805 and Pan Am Flight 1736 which crashed together at the airport when traffic controllers were forced to park several planes on the runway. Then a dense fog formed and combined with everything else resulted in the crash. The total fatalities include 583 and 61 injuries.

Here is a video explaining all about How Submarine Works? How Do Submarines Float And Sink? How Does A Submarine Get Oxygen? How Submarines See Underwater? A submarine (or simply sub) is a watercraft capable of independent operation underwater. It differs from a submersible, which has more limited underwater capability. The term most commonly refers to a large, crewed vessel. It is also sometimes used historically or colloquially to refer to remotely operated vehicles and robots, as well as medium-sized or smaller vessels, such as the midget submarine and the wet sub. The noun submarine evolved as a shortened form of submarine boat; by naval tradition, submarines are usually referred to as "boats" rather than as "ships", regardless of their size (boat is usually reserved for seagoing vessels of relatively small size). - How Submarines Work? A submarine or a ship can float because the weight of water that it displaces is equal to the weight of the ship. This displacement of water creates an upward force called the buoyant force and acts opposite to gravity, which would pull the ship down. Unlike a ship, a submarine can control its buoyancy, thus allowing it to sink and surface at will. - How Do Submarines Get Oxygen? Oxygen is supplied either from pressurized tanks, an oxygen generator (which can form oxygen from the electrolysis of water) or some sort of "oxygen canister" that releases oxygen by a very hot chemical reaction. (You may remember these canisters because of their problems on the MIR space station -- see this page for details). Oxygen is either released continuously by a computerized system that senses the percentage of oxygen in the air, or it is released in batches periodically through the day. - How Do Submarines "See" Underwater? Submarines navigate using global positioning system while on the surface, however, this will not work while the vessel is submerged. Underwater, the crafts use inertial guidance systems that keep track of the ship’s motion from a fixed starting point using gyroscopes. These systems are very complex and difficult to use, and very accurate at the same time. They are accurate up to 150 hours at a time. To locate targets, submarines use passive sonar. This works by emitting sound waves through water and allowing the sound waves to reflect off the target and return; by knowing the speed of sound in water and the time it took for the sound wave to travel back, submarines can calculate the distance to the target. This is the same technique that bats, dolphins, and whales use. These systems can also help recalibrate the inertial guidance systems. An "in depth" look at Rule 10 of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, the COLREGS. The COLREGS are the rules of the road that vessels must obey at sea to avoid collisions. Rule 10 covers "Traffic Separation Schemes". In this video I go into detail about the rule and give examples of how to apply the rule at sea. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rule 10: Traffic separation schemes (a) This Rule applies to traffic separation schemes adopted by the Organization and does not relieve any vessel of her obligation under any other Rule. (b) A vessel using a traffic separation scheme shall: i. proceed in the appropriate traffic lane in the general direction of traffic flow for that lane; ii. so far as practicable keep clear of a traffic separation line or separation zone; iii. normally join or leave a traffic lane at the termination of the lane, but when joining or leaving from either side shall do so at as small an angle to the general direction of traffic flow as practicable. (c) A vessel shall, so far as practicable, avoid crossing traffic lanes but if obliged to do so shall cross on a heading as nearly as practicable at right angles to the general direction of traffic flow. (d) i. A vessel shall not use an inshore traffic zone when she can safely use the appropriate traffic lane within the adjacent traffic separation scheme. However, vessels of less than 20 metres in length, sailing vessels and vessels engaged in fishing may use the inshore traffic zone. ii. Notwithstanding sub-paragraph (d) (i), a vessel may use an inshore traffic zone when en route to or from a port, offshore installation or structure, pilot station or any other place situated within the inshore traffic zone, or to avoid immediate danger. (e) A vessel other than a crossing vessel or a vessel joining or leaving a lane shall not normally enter a separation zone or cross a separation line except: i. in cases of emergency to avoid immediate danger; ii. to engage in fishing within a separation zone. (f) A vessel navigating in areas near the terminations of traffic separation schemes shall do so with particular caution. (g) A vessel shall so far as practicable avoid anchoring in a traffic separation scheme or in areas near its terminations. (h) A vessel not using a traffic separation scheme shall avoid it by as wide a margin as is practicable. (i) A vessel engaged in fishing shall not impede the passage of any vessel following a traffic lane. (j) A vessel of less than 20 metres in length or a sailing vessel shall not impede the safe passage of a power-driven vessel following a traffic lane. (k) A vessel restricted in her ability to manoeuvre when engaged in an operation for the maintenance of safety of navigation in a traffic separation scheme is exempted from complying with this Rule to the extent necessary to carry out the operation. (l) A vessel restricted in her ability to manoeuvre when engaged in an operation for the laying, servicing or picking up of a submarine cable, within a traffic separation scheme, is exempted from complying with this Rule to the extent necessary to carry out the operation.
