Battle of Jutland | Largest Naval Battle World War 1 I Military

45:40
Battle of Jutland | Largest Naval Battle World War 1 I Military The Battle of Jutland (German: Skagerrakschlacht) was a naval battle fought by the British Royal Navy's Grand Fleet under Admiral Sir John Jellicoe against the Imperial German Navy's High Seas Fleet under Vice-Admiral Reinhard Scheer during the First World War.[1] The battle was fought from 31 May to 1 June 1916 in the North Sea, near the coast of Denmark's Jutland Peninsula. It was the largest naval battle and the only full-scale clash of battleships in the war. It was only the third-ever fleet action between steel battleships, following the smaller but more decisive battles of the Yellow Sea (1904) and Tsushima (1905) during the Russo-Japanese War. 27:01
Goal of this walkthrough is to show you a strategy for win, not gaining 5 stars in each level. Also have in mind that my general have Major General rank so he is more powerful. Basic hints: - Upgrade your general every time you can, he will become stronger and more resistant. - Don't waste your medals on cheap and weak generals. Save them for more expensive, but much stronger generals or upgrade your general instead.

Author Robert Malster introduces his book 'North Sea War 1914-1919'. When thinking of the First World War at sea, many think only of the battle of Jutland. But across the North Sea there was constant naval activity throughout the conflict, activity often involving the small vessels of the Harwich Force, the submarines of Great Yarmouth and Harwich, the fishing vessels of Lowestoft and the naval aircraft of Felixstowe.

It should be noted that volunteers from Silver Antler were present on the side of the Tripartite, despite Silver Antler having left the war several hours previous. In the end, the joint GCTS-Eggmay battlegroup would destroy 1 stiletto, 1 poseidon, and 1 phoenix. Only a stiletto would be lost on the side of the Imperial Alliance. Outcome: Tactical victory for the Imperial Alliance Date: 1/29/19
Dutch War Against The Sea: The Afsluitdijk - Longest Dam In Europe

08:58
Subscribe! The Netherlands is extremely vulnerable to flooding. So the Dutch constructed the longest dam in Europe. And it has never broken in the last 85 years. This is the story of its construction. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Like & Share! Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/averythingch... Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/AveryThing ----------------------------------------------------------------------- In the past The Netherlands would flood regularly, with many early settlements built on higher ground. Between 800 and 1300 these floods were especially bad, caused by rising sea level due to a warmer climate. These floods slowly connected these lakes with the North Sea This new body of water was called the Zuiderzee, or Southern Sea. Ships could now travel freely between the North Sea and the most inner parts of what today we call the netherlands. Including this little town called Amsterdam, Becoming a major trading city, create the first stock exchange, and develop the early forms of modern capitalism. All because of these floods. The Southern Sea made the Netherlands more vulnerable to flooding. Over the centuries, the sea water would periodically sweep in and flood the surrounding areas, destroying crops, homes, and families. Something had to be done. The netherlands. Must. Be. Protected. It is at this point that we have to look at man named Cornelis Lely. Lely was born in 1854 and received an education in civil engineering at the Delft University of Technology. He began working as an engineer for the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management in The Netherlands. First helping the ministry to implement some canal-laws. Then he joined the Southern Sea Association whose goal was to close off the Southern Sea using dikes. Over the course of 5 years, he proceeded to lay out a brilliant plan that would revolutionize dike-building, permanently close off the Southern Sea against any flood, and pump dry large swaths of land to be used for agriculture. What was revolutionary was not what he wanted to build, but HOW he planned to build such a large dike; many before had tried but they never figured out HOW to do. But this idea wasn’t cheap. In fact, his plan would cost as much as the entire Dutch government budget for a whole year. To put that into perspective, The Netherlands’ government budget for 2018 is 285 billion Euro. Lely’s plan therefore also had to include a way to make A LOT of money. He wanted to pump large areas of land dry to mine clay and use the new fertile land for agriculture. We will talk more about how this part of his plan was executed in the next episode of this series, but spoiler alert: This made the Netherlands the second largest exporter of food in the world. And then two events happened that made parliament realize that they NEEDED to have this dam and these polders. The first, is world war one. While most of Europe at the time was embroiled in one of the bloodiest wars in history, the netherlands remained neutral. Furthermore, all of its neighbours were at war. This meant that food was scarce as millions now had to be fed without producing food or other products themselves. This increased the demand for food and, in a world without artificial fertilizer, lots of farmland was NECESSARY to keep one’s own population well fed… and the netherlands is a small country with a lot of people, so it DESPERATELY needed fertile land to keep its growing population fed. But the most compelling reason came in 1916. In the middle of the night, a large flood came crashing into the netherlands. The dikes… broke. Thousands of homes were damaged and destroyed. Holes of over 100 meters wide were clawed out of the dikes by the rushing water. And several counties went bankrupt trying to repair this damage. First the Dutch had to build a sturdy foundation. Ships came, day in day out, dropping millions of cubic meters of material into the sea. On the inland side, heavy stones were deposited, on the seaside, boulder clay was dropped into the sea. They were kept in place with brushwood mattresses, which in turn were held down by boulders and old concrete. Then till was collected from the sea bottom and deposited upon this foundation. Finally, the dike was finished by raising it above sea level with sand and clay. To make sure the dike was sturdy, grass was planted on top. The dikes was closed on May 28th 1932, two year earlier than expected. the Southern Sea was turned into a lake: the IJsselmeer, or IJssel Lake, named after the river IJssel which deposited its water into this new lake. And this water needed to be deposited from this newly formed lake into the sea. So at both ends of the dikes sluices were constructed to let the water flow into the sea. And as salt water was deposited into the sea, the Ijsellake slowly converted from a salt water lake into a fresh water lake.

Had a little bit of fun in the attack boats and explored some of the flags- visuals and gameplay experience are amazing! #Battlefield1 #BF1 #EA #Dreadnought Any support will be appreciated: https://www.patreon.com/AthelasLeon Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/athelasleon Twitter: https://twitter.com/AthelasLeon Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/athelas.leon.9 The First Battle of Heligoland Bight was the first naval battle of the First World War, fought on 28 August 1914, between the United Kingdom and Germany. The battle took place in the south-eastern North Sea when the British attacked German patrols off the north-west German coast. The German High Seas Fleet remained largely in safe harbours on the north German coast while the British Grand Fleet remained in the northern North Sea. Both sides engaged in long-distance sorties with cruisers and battlecruisers, and close reconnaissance of the area of sea near the German coast—the Heligoland Bight—by destroyer. The British devised a plan to ambush German destroyers on their daily patrols. A British fleet of 31 destroyers and two cruisers under Commodore Reginald Tyrwhitt and submarines commanded by Commodore Roger Keyes was dispatched. They were supported at longer range by an additional six light cruisers commanded by William Goodenough, and five battlecruisers commanded by Vice Admiral David Beatty.

1066. Vikings, Normans, Anglo-Saxons. The Battle of Hastings. The climactic events in the 6th year of the 6th decade of the 11th century in England had their origins much earlier in the 1000's, with the likes of the great Viking lords Cnut the Great and Sweyn Forkbeard, as well as those Anglo-Saxons who fought tooth and nail against them like Edmund Ironside and Edward the Confessor. News Alert: Royal Navy Frigate Intercepts Russian Warship in the North Sea

10:32
Courtesy : RT A British naval frigate escorted a Russian warship through the North Sea near UK waters on Christmas Day, the Royal Navy confirmed. The HMS St. Albans monitored the Russian vessel Admiral Gorshkov as it made its way across the North Sea close to Britain. Although such crossings are fairly routine, there has been a rise in the number of Russian ships passing close to British territorial waters in recent days. The Royal Navy said there had been a recent "upsurge in Russian units transiting UK waters.” Britain recently warned of a new threat posed by Russia to internet cables under the sea. Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, the chief of the defense staff, said earlier this month that Britain and NATO needed to prioritize protecting the lines of communication. He said it would "immediately and potentially catastrophically" hit the economy if they were cut or disrupted.

The Russian War Machine And The Race To The Sea I THE GREAT WAR - Week 9

08:34
Sparked by the desperate state of the Austrians, the Russian army goes on the offensive. General Ivanov even tries to use his numerical superiority to make up for the German victories a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, the armies of the Western Front try to outflank each other as they race north to the sea. And in the North Sea itself, submarine warfare really gets going while in the air, we see airplanes used in large military operations for the first time in history. SUPER U - BOAT GERMANYS U - 3523.- FOUND NORTH SEA !!

 0  0   MORE Partner Series Nazi Germany's Most High-Tech Submarine Found 73 Years After It Was Blown Up  A cross-section shows what the lethally quiet, 250-foot-long sub looked like inside. Credit: Sea War Museum Jutland Two days before the Allied forces declared victory over Nazi Germany at the end of World War II, a high-tech German submarine set out from Denmark on a mysterious mission. The sub was a brand-new Type XXI U-boat, hailed as the most advanced Nazi submarine of its time. It was deadly quiet, superfast and allegedly capable of traveling from Europe to South America without having to surface. Still, for all its cutting-edge technology, the sub could not save itself from being blasted to the seafloor by a British aerial assault on May 6, 1945. [Images: Missing Nazi Diary Surfaces] The boat, named U-3523, lay undetected at the bottom of the North Sea for 73 years. This week, researchers at the Sea War Museum Jutland in Denmark finally found the U-boat's wreckage, half-buried and jabbing diagonally from the seabed like a cannon from a turret. Advertisement Researchers at the museum are in the midst of doing an extensive scan of the seabed around the North Sea and the Skagerrak Strait (which flows between Denmark and Norway) and have documented more than 450 wrecks so far, according to a statement from the museum. Twelve of these wrecks so far have been submarines (nine of which were German-made, and three of which were British), but the newfound U-3523 represents an especially rare discovery, museum officials said. The remnants of U-3523, one of Nazi Germany's rarest high-tech submarines, were discovered near Denmark this week. The remnants of U-3523, one of Nazi Germany's rarest high-tech submarines, were discovered near Denmark this week. Credit: Sea War Museum Jutland "This was the most modern submarine the Germans built during the [Second World War]," Gert Normann Andersen, director of the Sea War Museum Jutland, told the Danish newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad in an interview (translated from Danish). "Only two of the 118 that were ordered actually entered service." Researchers with the museum found the half-buried wreckage of U-3523 about 10 nautical miles north of Skagen, the northernmost city in Denmark. The bow of the 250-foot-long (76 meters) submarine stabbed into the seafloor some 400 feet (120 m) below the water's surface, slanting upward with the boat's stern floating 65 feet (20 m) above the bottom of the sea. According to the museum, the boat embarked from Denmark with 58 crewmembers, all of whom perished in the bombing. Their mission remains unknown, but museum researchers suspect that the boat was likely fleeing for safety days after German forces surrendered in Denmark, the Netherlands and northern Germany. Among the vessel's new technology was a battery system that could allow it to remain submerged for several days at a time, making it a perfect getaway vessel, Andersen said. Following the end of World War II, rumors abounded that high-ranking Nazi officers (including Hitler himself) had escaped to South America on similar long-range submarines. Many of the original 118 Type XXI submarines were captured and dismantled after the end of the war, but countless others still remain missing.
