This Video Tutorial Will Describe how to delete a row or delete data which is already inserted into the table in oracle 12C version. This command will also work on other versions of database like Oracle 11g Database, Oracle 10g Database, Oracle 9i Database, Oracle 8i Database, Oracle 8 Database and so on. Sometimes you delete to delete some unwanted rows or data from the table. Delete command is used to do that. But it does not permanently delete rows, you can restore or rollback the deleted rows before commit. Full Syntax will be given in this video tutorial about how to insert records in oracle database table. Along with the live example to delete rows from the table. All the keywords, format, mandatory clauses etc are described in this video.

07:41
Hello friends in this video i'm going to demonstrate you how to add virtual column in ORACLE 11g step by step. Oracle 11g supports virtual columns which are derived from the other columns in the table. You can use the virtual columns in your queries, you can index them, you can collect the statistics, etc. There are few restrictions on the virtual columns. You cannot write/insert the data into virtual columns. There is no support for index_organized, external, object, cluster, temporary tables.

PL/SQL tutorial : Trigger in Oracle Database 11g Complete guide

26:21
Learn in depth about trigger in oracle database 11g, and usage of trigger in Database, different types of trigger with syntax for various events along with writing advance trigger and capturing all details regarding authentication. Explained Instead of trigger. Trigger in Oracle, Trigger in PL/SQL, Oracle Trigger, PL/SQL Trigger, What is Trigger in pl/sql, How to use Trigger in pl/sql, How to write a Trigger in oracle, How to design Trigger in pl/sql, DDL trigger, DML trigger, Instead of trigger, Compound trigger, Logon trigger, Introduction to Triggers You can write triggers that fire whenever one of the following operations occurs: DML statements (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) on a particular table or view, issued by any user DDL statements (CREATE or ALTER primarily) issued either by a particular schema/user or by any schema/user in the database Database events, such as logon/logoff, errors, or startup/shutdown, also issued either by a particular schema/user or by any schema/user in the database Triggers are similar to stored procedures. A trigger stored in the database can include SQL and PL/SQL or Java statements to run as a unit and can invoke stored procedures. However, procedures and triggers differ in the way that they are invoked. A procedure is explicitly run by a user, application, or trigger. Triggers are implicitly fired by Oracle when a triggering event occurs, no matter which user is connected or which application is being used. How Triggers Are Used Triggers supplement the standard capabilities of Oracle to provide a highly customized database management system. For example, a trigger can restrict DML operations against a table to those issued during regular business hours. You can also use triggers to: Automatically generate derived column values Prevent invalid transactions Enforce complex security authorizations Enforce referential integrity across nodes in a distributed database Enforce complex business rules Provide transparent event logging Provide auditing Maintain synchronous table replicates Gather statistics on table access Modify table data when DML statements are issued against views Publish information about database events, user events, and SQL statements to subscribing applications Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/aditya-kumar-roy-b3673368/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SpecializeAutomation/

Replicate from Oracle to Oracle, Oracle to MySQL, and Oracle to Analytics

59:02
Oracle is the most powerful DBMS in the world. However, Oracle's expensive and complex replication makes it difficult to build highly available applications or move data in real-time to data warehouses and popular databases like MySQL. In this webinar you will learn how Continuent Tungsten solves problems with Oracle replication at a fraction of the cost of other solutions and with less management overhead too -- think "Oracle GoldenGate without the price tag!" We will demo constructing a highly available site using Oracle-to-Oracle replication. We will then show you how to replicate data in real time from Oracle to MySQL as well as load a data warehouse.

Oracle SQL Tutorial 2 - Entities and Attributes

10:19
Entities and Attributes is a concept you will need to know for any relational database. Entities are the things we store data about and entities are the things that we store about the data. Each entity and attribute has a generic and a specific. So a generic entity (known as an entity type) gives a blue print for the specific entities to be based off of...watch the video, it will make sense. Same for the attributes, an attribute takes general attribute types (like phone number, name, etc), and gives you guidance on how to give specific values for other entities. Learn What is Database? How to Create and Show Databases using SQL

04:12
Learn What is Database? How to Create and Show Databases using SQL. The structured query language is all about databases. Therefore, we must first understand what a database is? The database is a structured set of information or data organized in such a way that a computer program can quickly access, manage and update it. In other words, Database is a collection of one or more tables and the tables contain data "rows" or "records". The SQL statement to display an existing databases is, "SHOW DATABASES;" The SQL statement to create a new database is, "CREATE DATABASE school;" Where "school" is the new database name. To use a database the SQL statement is again very simple, "USE school;" Where "school" is an existing database name. Oracle SQL Tutorial 31 - NCHAR Part 2

03:12
This video is going to be part 2 of NCHAR. That's because I have a bit more things to say about it before we move on to other data types. The first thing I wanted to mention is that if you declare an NCHAR(50), it is going to always be 50 characters. You do not need to use the CHAR or BYTE keyword in parenthesis to specify which you would like. We've said that NCHAR uses Unicode, but as we've learned in the last video, there are many character sets that use Unicode. Which character set is NCHAR going to use? That decision is based off of what your database's national character set is. So for every database you can declare a database character set and you can declare a national character set. The national character set is what is used for this data type. There are two options for the national character set, AL16UTF16, and UTF8. The default is AL16UTF16, which uses the utf-16 encoding. The Oracle docs has a lot of pros and cons for each one, but in general the defaults are default for a reason, so AL16UTF16 usually works fine. Now, a few videos ago I made a comment about the CHAR and NCHAR data types and how they might not be recommended. Why so? The reason is that CHAR is secretly just a VARCHAR2 that is padded to take up a full length. It does not save space nor improve performance in the database, so the chances are you are never going to want to use it. That being said, everything you've learned has not been a waste because a lot can be applied to the VARCHAR2 and NVARCHAR2 data types. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Support me! http://www.patreon.com/calebcurry Subscribe to my newsletter: http://bit.ly/JoinCCNewsletter Donate!: http://bit.ly/DonateCTVM2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Additional Links~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More content: http://CalebCurry.com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/CalebTheVideoMaker Google+: https://plus.google.com/+CalebTheVideoMaker2 Twitter: http://twitter.com/calebCurry Amazing Web Hosting - http://bit.ly/ccbluehost (The best web hosting for a cheap price!)

Delete, Drop, and Truncate Statements in Hive

06:41
Delete, Drop, and Truncate Statements in Hive Delete Statement: Delete statement is used to delete certain rows from a table based on a condition specified using the WHERE clause. The syntax is in below as highlighted. DELETE FROM tablename [WHERE expression]; Note: DELETE statement is available from hive 0.14.0 version and above Drop Statement: The drop table statement is used to drop the table altogether. The syntax is highlighted here: DROP TABLE IF EXISTS TABLENAME; Let’s quickly see how the managed table and external table differs when dropping the table. We have already discussed this in the “Two different types of hive tables” video. Take a look at it if you haven’t. For the managed hive tables, the drop table statement removes the metadata information as well as the data. The data will be actually moved to .Trash/Current directory. metadata will be permanently deleted. However for external tables, only the metadata information is permanently deleted and the actual data remains intact in the hdfs directories. So in the case of external table, if the table was deleted accidentally, then the table can be re-created by using the same schema and specifying the same location for the hdfs data directory. If deleting the external table was the intention, then after deleting the table using the drop statement, you may also delete the underlying hdfs data directory by issuing the hdfs dfs -rm command. Truncate Statement: Truncate table statement is used to remove only the data from the table. The table structure with the schema remains intact. Truncate removes all the rows from a table or partition. The syntax is highlighted below. TRUNCATE table syntax TRUNCATE TABLE TABLENAME;

Of cookies and people: Honing in on people-based data | #MME16 by R. Danes | Apr 27, 2016 Companies stalking the moving target that is their customer have hotly anticipated new developments in Big Data — particularly those applicable to consumer behavior and purchasing. For the past 20 years, cookies have been the main source of information that companies have on their customers — but the remove from the person behind the cookie has led to disappointing performance. Luckily, according to David Skinner, VP of strategic alliances and partnerships at Merkle Group, Inc., a marketing agency specializing in data-based solutions, we are getting closer to being able to pinpoint actual people for marketing purposes. These days, “You don’t want to get a like from a cookie; what you want to get is a purchase from a person,” he said. To that end, you have to follow the more complex and messy trajectory of human users, not devices. He said statistics show that 60 percent of transactions that start on one channel or device complete on another, so spanning and connecting different channels is crucial. “The purchase funnel is dead,” Skinner told John Furrier (@furrier), cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during the Oracle Modern Marketing Experience event. “It’s really a purchase cycle,” he explained. “Someone can be fairly far along in that cycle and jump out to a competitor.” A well-oiled machine “Data is the oil of the information economy,” Skinner said, explaining that the company’s solutions are tied to ROI — they don’t get paid if they don’t perform — and data is what makes that kind of guarantee possible. James Mullarney, VP of global alliances and channels for Oracle Marketing Cloud, also spoke to theCUBE, and he concurred with Skinner. “It’s all about the data at the end of the day,” he said.
