10 Mistakes Lots of People Make When Buying a New Car

07:49
According to statistics, most drivers change their car once every six years, which is a pretty long period of time. To take the best out of your car in those six years, to save money and to avoid constant repairing, you’d better avoid ten mistakes many of us make when buying a car. One day you’ll probably decide to sell your car. That’s why you have to consider some important features. According to Paint supplier PPG Industries, white is the most popular car color in the US with 35 percent of all sold vehicles. It is followed by black with 17 percent, and silver and gray that both got a 12 percent popularity. In case you want to purchase some good old German luxury brands such as BMW or Mercedes-Benz, you have to be prepared to pay around $17,800 and $12,900 for ten years of maintenance accordingly. US popular brand Cadillac comes next with an average $12,500 maintenance cost for the same period of time. Additional airbags, a passenger sensing system that can tell the size of the person in the seat and save smaller children in case of a crash, auto-dimming mirrors to reduce the glare coming from headlights at night, head restraints and ABS are some of the things you don’t want to save money at. Make a check-list of features you need to check and think of where you’ll be driving your new vehicle. Try driving on the highway and park in uncomfortable conditions if that’s what you know you’ll have to do in the future. Examine everything to help yourself make the right decision. Don’t be afraid to miss “the deal of a lifetime.” You must have noticed those come up now and then, so you shouldn’t let them pressure you into making a wrong financial decision that will affect your budget for years. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS You don’t think about resale value. 0:32 Car maintenance can be expensive. 1:46 You pay for optional items. 2:50 You buy a brand new car. 3:33 You buy a car that is too big or too small. 4:03 You can’t choose between car’s prestige and technical characteristics. 4:34 You don’t examine the car. 5:19 You miss advantageous offers and discounts. 6:08 You don’t try to lower the price. 6:30 You’re in a hurry. 6:51 SUMMARY -First, the car brand matters: there are brands that are more or less popular among drivers. Second, you need to think about the vehicle specifications and the engine. Third, don’t forget about its color. -Think of how much of your family budget car maintenance can make, and decide if you want to spend that much on your vehicle after you’ve purchased it. -Some drivers don’t smoke inside their cars. In this case, they don’t need an ashtray. An additional corrosion treatment is useless as well because cars already have an anti-corrosion treatment. -The best choice is a car model that is no more than three years old and already well-known. -Try to predict how many times you’re going to travel by car, how many passengers will be there, and so on. -A premium class car will give you better safety, high performance and increased comfort their manufacturers guarantee. -Gather as much information as possible at reliable websites and among your friends, consult an independent specialist, and test drive your chosen car. -The best time to buy a car starts in December and reaches its peak in March. -Try to call or send emails to different dealerships saying you have a better offer and asking if they can beat it. -Spend enough time to gather information, consulting specialists, and weighing the pros and cons. The Steps in Consumer Buying Decision Process

04:01
This video is explained about how consumers make buying decision. There are five steps of buying decisions process which is consist of problem recognition, information search, evaluation alternatives, purchase decision and post purchase evaluation. The first step is problem recognition. During this step, the consumer realizes that he has a problem of transportation go to work where required him to use public transport. From that situation, he always late goes to work, untidy and not perform well. So he got an idea to purchase a car to solve his problem. The second step, he starts search information about the car that he interested through website and asks from referrals. He wants a car that affordable price, eco-friendly and compact. He asks his neighbour opinion which types of car that suitable for him. Then his neighbour suggests buying hatchback car because the car is fulfils his wants and desires. The third step, he evaluates the information that he gets and starts thinking to choose which is suitable for him. He narrows down his choices based on price, comfort and fuel efficiency. He decided to buy a hatchback car rather than sedan car since it is more suit with his criteria. The fourth step is purchase decision where he buys the car that he chooses. He never faces a problem and feels joyful with his car. The fifth step is post-purchase evaluation to know how the customer feels about a purchase will significantly influence whether he will purchase the product again or consider other products. In conclusion, If the consumer expectation and perceived product performance more than satisfaction they will share positive perception with others but If the consumer expectation and perceived product performance below than satisfaction they will share negative perception about the brand and influence others. Thus, customer satisfaction will lead to a repeat purchase, favourable word of mouth and less attention to competitor product that reaping customer lifetime value.

How Customers Make A Decision To Buy Something (Snowblower Shopping)

05:50
Today we're talking about how customers and clients make buying decisions. Only recently did I purchase a brand new snow-blower. Exciting! I know... What was it that finally tipped the scale and prompted me to go make this investment? The same factors that play in my decision, are the same things that are going to influence your customers and your clients for your business. So it pays to talk about them, it pays to understand them, and it pays to know so you can implement them in your business. Alright, so the first factor involved in what prompted me to finally go buy a snowblower was pretty much deciding on the Pain vs Pleasure aspect. And this is the same thing that your customers and clients go through when they're trying to make a buying decision. Basically they're either doing it to avoid pain, or to get pleasure. Now, in the case of a snowblower, this is VERY much pain avoidance, cause I don't know too many people that enjoy blowing snow... But the reality is, if you've got snow, you gotta get it off the driveway. So you can do it the old fashioned way, with a good ol' shovel, which I've been doing for years, but really, it's kind of a pain and it's not a lot of fun, which is why I finally invested in getting that snowblower. Which really was to avoid the pain rather than to get pleasure of actually performing the task. Are they trying to benefit or get some sort of value from it in the form of pleasure? Or are they trying to avoid pain in which case your business is going to help solve that. Some people are going to be more motivated by the pleasure aspect of your product, and some are going to be more motivated by the pain-avoidance aspect of your product. But if you had to put them against each other, the avoiding pain camp is going to be significantly stronger, because we're often willing to do a lot more things to avoid pain than we are to get pleasure. When it comes to the messaging and phrasing, and all the marketing around your product, you want to make sure that you're going to appeal to both sides of these camps by: -Highlighting the benefits of what's going to happen if they do invest in your product, but also -Announcing and highlighting the negative aspects if they don't take action So basically, what's going to happen if you DO take action, and what's going to happen if you DON'T. Which is going to allow you to cover both the pain, and the pleasure aspect. The next way that customers make buying decisions is understanding that most purchases are emotional decisions. Now this is really important, because if you understand that someone's coming in and they're going to make an emotional decision first, and then back it up logically, it will very much influence the messaging and the style of marketing you decide to use. Telling stories and trying to convey things with metaphor and simile and things like that are really effective in your marketing. Any time you have the opportunity to tell a case story or give a testimonial, or show someone with a similar benefit, you're gonna do amazingly well (compared to if you just give the cold hard facts, or the statistics or the raw data about the product) The third and final way that I want to cover about how customers and clients make buying decisions is: In weighing the VALUE of the product or service that you're trying to sell. (Keep in mind we're talking about value here and not just cost). Now, when you're going after the value-based customer, what they're going to do, is they're going to weigh the perceived costs of buying your product, vs. the perceived benefits they're going to get from it. And, if the perceived value is HIGHER than the perceived cost, they'll often make the transaction. If you're not telling a good enough story about the benefits, and the experience in a nice conveyed story, well they're not going to really understand, and so they're not going to be as apt to buy. So let's wrap this up: #1 Pain vs Pleasure #2 Understand that buying decisions are emotional, so always lead with stories first, and appeal to the emotions, and then back those up with the logical facts, statistics, case studies, and testimonials. #3 Make sure that the perceived value of your product and service is significantly greater than the cost involved with acquiring what ever it is that you're selling. So let me know in the comments below which one you think is going to have the greatest impact in your business, And let me know about any ideas you have about how you're going to apply them in your business, cause I'd love to hear them. Thanks so much for watching, and I'll catch you next time. ► Download your free copy of The One Page Marketing Plan Here – http://adamerhart.com/marketingplan #LINKS Website: http://adamerhart.com Twitter: http://twitter.com/adamerhart Facebook: http://facebook.com/officialadamerhart

Behavioral Economics: Crash Course Economics #27

10:34
Why do people buy the stuff they buy? In classical economics, most models assume that consumers behave rationally. As you've probably noticed in your real life, in case after case, people don't actually make rational decisions. There can be emotional or social reasons for all this irrationality, and behavioral economics tries to address this. We'll talk about risk, nudge theory, prices and perception, and the ultimatum game. So, let's get irrational, in a logical way, of course. Crash Course is on Patreon! CONSUMER PURCHASE DECISION-MAKING MODELING VIA AGENT BASED SIMULATION

01:40
Luana Lott Alvarez Jose David Gastelum López Euclides Maluf Brazil México Dr. Young-Jun Son Systems and Industrial Engineering Department Industrial Engineering and Processes Consumers Purchase Decision-Making Modeling via Agent Based Simulation Supply chain system is complex due to the involvement of different stakeholders with various decisions across production planning, scheduling, inventory control, information management, and so on. Furthermore, it is not easy to capture the accurate demand and market share at the downstream of supply chain in analytic models. As a result, the integration and synchronization of supply chain production and customer purchasing behaviors have not been fully understood. Given this research gap and challenge, we developed an integrated production control and customer purchasing behavior simulation model with analytic insights to better facilitate the study. Specifically, at the production/inventory control side, the newsvendor model is adopted due to its popularity and analytical simplicity. For each selling cycle, the product company determines the production or ordering amount with the goal to maximize its expected profit. Competition of two companies is considered given the shared consumer market. At the market (demand) side, consumer purchasing behaviors are explicitly formulated via the motivation function, which is impacted by various factors including product price, quality, advertisement, and social network influences. Agent-based simulation technique is used to model the consumer market, where each customer has various states for adopting one product or the other during the simulation run. For the implementation, AnyLogic software is employed, which provides the capability to control various key parameters over the simulation run. Experiment results demonstrated 1) the customer susceptibility to product price, quality, advertisement and social network influence, and 2) trade-offs between company’s profit gain over its investment spent.

Monarchy is making a comeback – though not in the way you think. Let me explain. A king is one person. Get rid of him and you might get your freedom back. But what do you do when the nation has come to be controlled by thousands of little king – almost supreme in their specialized fiefdoms – who have vast power over your life, much as a king might? Good question, because that’s what we’re up against. This regime is called the “administrative state.” Its little kings are unelected “bureaucrats,” officially known as “administrators,” “secretaries,” or even “czars.” And, make no mistake, they are very powerful. Their decisions affect us every day. The FDA, the FCC, the SEC, and so on and so on. Put together almost any three or four random letters and chances are you’ve stumbled on a government agency. These agencies and the people in them shape our lives – often for the worse. Many farmers in California lost their livelihoods because the Fish and Wildlife Service decided that the delta smelt (a tiny fish) was more important than the farmers’ water supply. That decision may have been right, or it may have been wrong. My point is simply that the decision should have been made by our lawmakers—who are accountable to us at the next election. Those farmers are among the millions of hard-working people directly hurt by the administrative state. And many more millions have been indirectly hurt – such as all those discouraged from even starting a business by miles of bureaucratic red tape. This is not an argument against government regulation per se, but against regulation imposed by bureaucrats rather than by our elected lawmakers whom we can hold accountable at the next election. Here’s the larger danger: As bureaucracy grows, individual freedom diminishes. How did we get into this mess? And, more importantly, how do we get out of it? Psychology of a purchase decision

Human psychology is a fascinating science, not least because of the frightening discoveries about just how predictable our behavior can be. Customers make decisions based on a large number of factors and although it is impossible to influence them all, successful marketers try to strike a balance between appealing to the emotional and rational sides to our personality. Humans are not completely practical, nor do they make decisions based solely on feelings. The amount of emotional desire varies according to the product, but rational decisions vary according to circumstances. More on http://www.marketingallincusive.com

Consumers Purchase Decision-Making Modeling via Agent Based Simulation

01:05

How Does Technology Influence Shopping

01:07
Constant access to the internet allows online consumers to research products, compare prices and buy just about anything they need, whether from the comfort of their own home or while on the go. As a result of this flexibility, purchase decision-making is now done on a number of devices and in multiple locations. To better understand the differing uses of technology in the shopping process among today’s “hyperconnected” consumers, Euromonitor International surveyed 8100 online consumers in 16 markets. This video compares the use of technology in shopping between a Baby Boomer in the US and an internet-connected Millennial in China. Research into wine packaging with a few detours - How do consumers buy wine? - Knowledge Works

50:46
What makes a wine buyer choose one wine above the rest? Is their choice born out of habit or is it more complicated than meets the eye? Wine connoisseurs will tell you that choosing a wine to purchase is a process of careful consideration of a number of elements including; the grape, the vintage, the price, the origin, the cuisine you will pair it with and more. However, the typical wine buyer will normally go to the shop, stand before a wall of dozens of different packages and labels, and make a choice in a matter of seconds. With this in mind, wine labels must present the right mix of information so as to positively affect consumer choice, but how is this done and is there an ideal mix of information? In this fascinating Knowledge Works lecture, Professor Larry Lockshin invites you into the minds of the consumer and the marketer, providing new insights into research measuring the effectiveness of packaging as compared to the intrinsic characteristics in a consumer's final purchase decision. Professor Lockshin will discuss areas of neuroscience, shopping behaviour and human taste sensations, sharing his expertise on how people make their purchase decisions at the shelf-face.
