What Is LCL Shipment: In this video, I am going to share with you what is LCL Shipment - LCL Container Less Than Container Load - LCL Shipment. Subscribe to our channel for more videos. http://www.pakistancustoms.net/2017/12/What-is-LCL-Shipment-LCL-Container-Less-Than-Container-Load-LCL-Shipment.html What is LCL Shipment (Less Than Container Load) LCL means Less Container Load If a shipper does not have enough goods to accommodate in a fully loaded container, he arranges with a consolidator to book his cargo. This type of shipment is called LCL shipment. The said consolidator arranges a full container with the main shipping carrier and consoles the shipments of other shippers. Means the freight forwarder who books a full container accepts goods from different shippers and consolidates all such goods in to one container as a Fully Loaded Container - FCL. The freight forwarder sorts out these goods at destination or at transshipment points, meant for different consignees at different ports. Once after arrival of goods at destination the freight forwarder release goods meant for each consignee separately by collecting necessary charges if any. What is FCL & LCL? (2018)
What is FCL & LCL? FCL refers to Full Container Load. It means a container will be used exclusively for your products. LCL refers to Less than Container Load. It means different shipments from different customers will share one container. Don’t worry. You don’t need to find someone to share one container with you. The shipping agent or freight forwarder will do this themselves. Very simple about the definition. But what are the differences between them? FCL may be cheaper than LCL LCL costs more than FCL per unit of freight. That’s because freight agents prefer a full container shipping -- it's easier for them to handle a FCL. For LCL, they have to consolidate different cargoes together and arrange multiple documents and other more handling. FCL gets delivered more quickly than LCL while LCL may be delayed for various reasons It’s more complicated for LCL, which requires additional steps: consolidating different shipments, processing multiple documents per container, and then sorting goods for each customer. At each step, there is potential for delay. FCL may be safer than LCL As by LCL, Your cargo will be exposed to a higher risk of damage or loss, as it will be exposed when the forwarder consolidates it with other cargoes at the port of loading, and exposed again at the destination. So it’s necessary and mandatory to print or stick the shipping mark on the outer carton when you shipping by LCL. Shipping mark is a written symbol or symbols to identify your goods from others. LCL lets you keep inventory low If you can not afford a full container of products, it makes sense to use LCL. LCL lets you ship in smaller volume, so you can keep your inventory low. There is actually a formula to choose FCL or LCL.  If 1cbm~15cbm, choose LCL.  If over 15cbm, choose FCL without any hesitation. What is Shipping Term FOB, C&F, CIF And Difference B/w FCL / LCL
1)What does FOB mean in a shipping term? & What is mean by FOB price? 2)What is the difference between CIF and CNF in shipping terms? 3)What is the difference between FCL and LCL? In order to find Out the answers of these questions read Below: 1. FOB (Free On Board): FOB means Free On Board Or Freight On Board. FOB origin indicates that consignee owns the goods in transit; The cost of movement of goods on board of Airlines or on the board of ship is borne by the seller. Rest of all expenses to arrive the goods at buyer's premise has to be met by the buyer. FOB Price Free on board(freight on board) price means a price which includes goods plus the services of loading those goods onto some vehicle or vessel at a named location, sometimes put in parentheses after the f.o.b. 2. CIF And CNF Shipping Terms: CIF Shipping Term: Under CIF terms of delivery in export business, Cost Insurance and Freight included in the selling cost of goods. In Short, all delivery expenses up to predetermined destination is borne by the Seller (Exporter). CNF Shipping Term: The term CNF or CFR ( Cost and Freight shipping terms) mean seller pay for the freight and cost to the destination port. It means that the seller pays for transportation to the Port of Loading (POL). Let's have a look on below example to understand the C&F terms of delivery Clearly. Let suppose you are a garments seller situated in Pakistan. The buyer is situated in Los Angeles. You are the seller of goods and you have contracted with the buyer and agreed to sell the goods on C&F Los Angeles price of USD 56,000. Here the selling cost of goods is USD 56,000, C&F Los Angeles. Here the seller(exporter) arrange to carry the goods to port and meet all expenses including customs clearance and pays the ocean freight or air freight up to Los Angeles. In this case, the seller decides the shipping company or airlines to move goods from Karachi to Los Angeles, as he is paying the freight of consignment. In other words, all delivery expenses up to Los Angeles is borne by the seller. The buyer takes delivery of cargo after customs clearance in Los Angeles at his own cost. Insurance of the goods is met by the buyer in case of the C&F transaction. 3. FCL and LCL Difference: FCL (Full Container-Load): An ocean-shipping and intermodal industry term; a full container(Twenty or Forty-Foot) load shipment is when a shipper contracts for the transportation of an entire container. The vast majority of intermodal and ocean freight is contracted in this manner. Historically, FCL also stands for full carload which is the primary business of all modern railroads and is the railroad equivalent of TL trucking. LCL (Less-Than-Container Load): An ocean-shipping and intermodal industry term; LTL equivalent in container shipping. Container freight stations at ports serve as consolidation and deconsolidation terminals. Historically, LCL also stands for less-than-carload. Before the prominence of interstate trucking, railroads offered less-than-carload (LCL) service but this business has largely disappeared. Related Keywords shipping terminal, shipping terminology, shipping terms, shipping terms cfr means, shipping terms cnf, shipping terms dap and ddp, shipping terms fca shipping point, shipping terms fob

Watch this video to learn how to calculate your LCL fees per CBM charge. Visit http://www.freightforwarderquoteonline.com.au/lcl-shipping-to-australia-quote-online-star.aspx to learn more about our LCL services. LCL rates are charged either on per cubic meter (CBM) weight of 1000 kilograms (1 ton) whichever is higher Here's a sample calculation: Cargo measurements as follows: Length: 1.5 meters Width: 1.5 meters Height: 1.5 meters Weight 765 kgs or .765 tons Step 1: Know your CBM calculation CBM is equal to length multiplied by width multiplied by height Using the sample measurements you'll have 1.5 meters x 1.5 meters x 1.5 meters So CBM in this case is 3.375 Step 2: Compare CBM with the actual weight of the cargo CBM at 3.375 versus weight of .765 tons Need more help calculating LCL fees? (Middleman) - Freight Charge Terms FOB – Free on Board (or Freight on Board). This basically means that the cost of delivering the goods to the nearest port is included but YOU, as the buyer, are responsible for the shipping from there and all other fees associated with getting the goods to your country/address. EXW (Ex-Works) – also sometimes referred to as the Ex-Factory price. This basically means the cost of the product and nothing else! No shipping costs or export fees in China are included in this price, never mind local port and custom fees or delivery to your door. CIF – Cost, Insurance and Freight. In this case, the price also includes sea freight charges and insurance to deliver the goods to YOUR nearest port. But only to the port – from that point onwards, you take the shipment into your hands. CNF – Cost & Freight (or Cost, no Insurance, Freight). Similar to CIF only this time insurance is not included. DDP - Is a transaction where the seller (Manufacturer) pays for the total costs associated with transporting goods and is fully responsible for the goods until they are received and transferred to the buyer. This is the best type of shipping arrangement if your supplier is handling the entire shipment as they deal with everything for you. What do you need? Damco's Less than Container Load (LCL) programme explained
Companies in many industries are responding to rapidly changing customer behaviour by shortening their product life cycles and keeping stock levels low, resulting in growing numbers of small size orders. This in turn leads to escalating transport costs. Our LCL programme brings the potential economies of scale – and the associated cost benefits – of FCL (full container load) shipments to shippers of LCL cargo. www.damco.com/lcl

5 Mistakes New Importers Make When Importing Products from China
Discover the 5 mistakes new importers make when they are importing products from China. Don’t make the same mistakes! Get our free ebook: http://wholesaleted.com/4-step Freightos: http://wholesaleted.com/go/freightos First mistake importers make when importing products from China: Assuming that shipping by sea will be the cheapest option A lot of new importers think they will save money if they ship by sea rather than air. On the surface it seems cheaper as importers usually pay around 60 cents/KG when shipping via sea, compared to the $7/KG when shipping by air courier. Unfortunately what they don’t realize is that the reason it’s that cheap is because when shipping via sea, you ship via container, and you need to rent an entire container. They are very large and require you to be shipping hundreds of KGs to be making it worth your time. If you are an Amazon private label seller, you are unlikely to have enough stock being shipped to fill a container by at least 60-70% so it will be cheaper to ship by air. When shipping by air, you have two options: 1) Air freight 2) Air courier Air courier is when you have your items shipped door-to-door. It is the easiest but the most expensive per KG (although in smaller quantities it is cheaper). Air freight is when you have your items flown from one airport to the other. You will need to organize other additional services: * Having the items delivered to the airport * A customs broker * Having the items delivered from the airport to the final location. There are a lot of fixed fees with this which means it becomes cheaper to use air freight with larger quantities. To figure out which option will be cheaper for you, I recommend using Freightos. Second mistake importers make when importing products from China: Not using the Metric system In China, they use the Metric system and not the Imperial system. So be sure to use KGs instead of lbs and CM instead of inches. It’s important to remember that when working with Chinese suppliers that they expect you to work on their terms and their timeframes. It can be frustrating, but it’s worth it for the cheap Chinese products you import! Third mistake importers make when importing products from China: Using Less than Container Load for shipping When shipping by sea, you have two options: 1) FCL which stands for Full Container Load 2) LCL which stands for Less than Container Load Inexperienced importers fall for the trap of shipping with LCL because they see that the price are extremely cheap. What they don’t realize is that these LCL companies have special deals with the ports to charge you extremely high Destination Service Charges. The LCL companies then make their money in the form of a “rebate” which is essentially commissions/kickbacks. Destination Service Charges are usually priced per-container and cost between $500-$1000 per container for ports in the USA. But when shipping by LCL you end up paying a high fee per cubic meters. It means that you often end up paying a fee comparable to shipping an entire container. Don’t fall for this trap: If you can’t break even with FCL, then ship by air. Fourth mistake importers make when importing products from China: not calculating the correct duties you will need to pay When you import products from China, you will need to pay duties at the border. If you don’t calculate the correct rate you can get a shock if it comes back as more than you expected. Duties can be a bit complicated to work out because there are a lot of variables. For example, if you imported woolen jackets, you need to consider which country the wool came from, as some countries (like Israel) have duty-free agreements over wool, which would reduce the duties you had to pay. On the other hand if synthetic fibres were used instead of pure wool, then your duty rates would be higher since there are higher duties applied to synthetic fibres within the USA. To figure out what your duty rate is, find out what the HTS (Harmonized Tax System) code is for your item. To find this, ask your Chinese supplier as they will most likely know. You can then go through the HTS manual and find what the duty rate is for the HTS code of your products. Fifth mistake importers make when importing products from China: being afraid to make mistakes And finally - don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Through making mistakes you learn how to overcome them the next time and make even more money. Mistakes are apart of entrepreneurship. Learn from others - and learn from your own as well!

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Rates, Delivery Time, Customs Forms & More
So you live outside the USA; maybe you’re from England, or the Ukraine or a really beautiful island somewhere in a beautiful part of the world…if that is the case, please invite us over for dinner. In the meantime, Let’s walk through the steps of your order together…. When you are purchasing your amazing new goodies, you may have noticed that the shipping rates are VERY LOW. This is because they are registering as USA ship-to prices…which is not accurate…because you’re not located in the USA. As a general guideline, International Shipping Rates are going to be around 3-4x higher than USA shipping rates. This is probably because your parcel has to cross a lot of water by plane or boat, and that is an expensive process…..not to mention, a lot of people have to work together to get that parcel to you, and those people probably want to be paid. Each box is going to cost you around $80 to $160. The rate will be based on how far you are from Michigan, the size of the box and its weight. While Canada is the cheapest place for us to ship to, Australia and Africa are the most expensive. Most countries only allow you to import a box about the size of a microwave through standard mail. This means that if you order a ton of stuff, it is going to take more than one box because it is virtually impossible to fit a ton of stuff into one medium-size box. We will never know the exact amount it will cost to ship your items to you until we pull them, package them, weigh them then enter your address into our Shipping Program. IMPORTING As an international buyer, it is important that you know your countries Importing Laws. Some countries are very strict on what you’re allowed to receive. Most countries do not allow flammables, this means, no aerosol hair spray, perfume, home fragrance spray or items containing a flammable amount of alcohol, but sometimes you’re allowed to buy these, if they are very small amounts. Believe it or not, some countries won’t allow you to import certain types of materials or, like in Japan, you are limited to the quantity of clothing you are allowed to import. The easiest way to find out your countries guidelines is to Google search your country name along with the words “importing regulations” or “prohibited items”. We do not review incoming orders to determine if the merchandise you are ordering is allowed into your Country. If you try to import items not allowed into your country, there is a strong chance that Customs will refuse, or, even worse, destroy your parcel. We do not offer any form of refund or credit for parcels refused or confiscated by Customs, so, please, do your research before you order. Our international buyers often ask us “When will my parcel arrive?” – great question! Your parcel will arrive when it has finished traveling across the world, going through numerous checkpoints and inspections and reaches its destination. sometimes parcels arrive in as little as 6 business days, other times it is 3 months . Unfortunately there is no way for us to make your parcel travel faster; BUT, it is important that you Add Insurance to your parcel because, in the event that the parcel is undelivered for over 30 days, we can file an investigation with the carrier. This will result in either your parcel being delivered OR a refund through the carrier. CUSTOMS FORMS: We are asked on a regular basis if we can lie and say the merchandise is only worth a dollar so our International Buyers can avoid paying taxes on the merchandise. While nobody likes paying taxes, it is actually not in your best interest to have the merchandise incorrectly valued because, in the event that the parcel does get lost or damaged, instead of getting back $200 or $400 or whatever you paid, your refund will be the worthless $1 that you said the items were worth….and that would make you angry…and sad…and when you’re sad, we are sad too. To make a long story short, we do not falsify Customs Forms. So, with all that in mind, if you’re looking to order a lot of stuff and save some money, one thing you can consider is to use a Freight Forwarder. A Freight Forwarder is a company located inside the USA that will accept the merchandise from us and literally, forward it to you. Each forwarder is going to have their own fees, but we have seen fees as low as $1 per pound plus $25 per transaction. If you wish to use a forwarder, simply contact us by email to let us know.

Episode 2: How to import by sea from China to the US
The current process is as of July 1st, 2017 because US customs do change important process regularly. In this episode, we go over importation step-by-step to the USA for sea shipping under EXW. We are going to use China as an example since most products are Made In China. Step 1: POA - Allow the freight forwarder to handle your cargo Step 2: Pick up in from the supplier Step 3: AMS - Automatic Manifest System - Must be completed 72 hours before vessel sail. If not, it cargo will not be loaded and importers increase their chance of inspection and fines. Step 4: ISF - Importer Security Filing "10+2" - Must be completed 24 hours before vessel sail. If not, importers increase their chance of inspection and fines up to $5000. We have yet to see this fine but US Customs has announce for many years. Step 5: Arrival Notice - Summary alert of imported cargo being import to the importer. Provide by the freight forwarder after the vessel sail. Step 6: Invoice and Packing list - Shipper gives it to the consignee/importer. Importer confirms it is correct and give them to the freight forward. Step 7: Customs clearance Final Step: Deliver the cargo to our warehouse for processing: inspect, storage, label and release to final destination. Major errors that importers make: - No "Made in _____" marking - Master Carton marking - FDA, DOT, USFWS, and Certificate for toy product. For product that needs to go through these agency, without them product cannot clear customs. Transit time from Shanghai or Shenzhen to Long Beach, CA by water FCL (Full container load): 14-16 days on the water, 3-5 days to unload off the vessel, 1 day to our warehouse for processing LCL ( Loose cargo load): 14-16 days on the water, 3-5 days to unload off the vessel, 3-5 days to unload from the container, 1 day to our warehouse for processing For more info or you need freight forwarding services, please e-mail: [email protected] Website: www.worldcraftlogistics.com
