Width and height units - Webflow CSS tutorial (using the Old UI)

03:59
In web design, you can declare an element's width and/or height using either fixed values or relative values. This video covers the most commonly used dimensions (outside of ems): 1. Auto-sizing (auto) 2. Pixels (px) 3. Percentage (%) 4. Viewport height (vh) 5. Viewport width (vw) 6. Minimum (min) and maximum (max) You can adjust an element's width and height in the Styles Panel, under the Layout section. We’ll be covering how each of these units work in the context of setting element dimensions. ---------- Get started with Webflow: https://help.webflow.com/courses/getting-started http://webflow.com http://twitter.com/webflow http://facebook.com/webflow

How to use the Container for the Responsive Web Design

04:52
Visit https://nicepage.com More articles at https://nicepage.com/doc/article/1318/video-tutorials Subscribe to find more information: https://youtube.com/nicepage https://pinterest.com/nicepagecom https://facebook.com/nicepageapp In the Modern Web Design there are usually two types of pages: long-read articles and web pages. If you read a long text, for example: news, blog post, or any other long-read content, that usually takes the whole sheet width and height, then it is an Article. Web Pages Unlike articles, the text in web pages never takes the whole sheet width, stretching for 50% of a sheet or even less. Such texts are used in home pages, landing pages, one-page designs, advertising and information pages. In this demo we will talk about this type, web pages. Why to Use Containers? In the modern layouts, since the text in sections or pages is not dropped somehow, it is the common practice to combine or to group texts and graphic elements. Containers are usually used for that. If there are several groups in a row, then the Grid with cells is used. Watch the demo on the Responsive Modes to see how to use grids. If there is only one group, we recommend to use the Container instead of the Grid. What is the Container? In the modern websites texts are never placed by themselves. The Container is a control, which groups several elements, like headings, texts, icons, buttons, lines, and shapes. What can you do with the Container? The elements in the Container can be moved and modified. Since the Container is a block, it is very convenient to work with it, while building websites. You can move the Container as a single unit, or can change its dimensions. The benefit of the Container is very obvious for the Responsiveness, for the Mobile Views. As for smaller screens, the Container adapts inner elements automatically to fit the screen width. Using Containers In Nicepage the Container control is fully used in the pre-designed sections. As a rule, the Hero or Introduction sections and some other styles do not use the Grid. We use the Container to group elements. Containers are also used in titles in sections with the Grid. Now let’s see how containers are used. Add a Container. Select Add - Container or press the “C” hotkey. Let’s add elements. You can add text elements either via the Add menu, or by clicking the small plus at the top right corner of the selected Container. Also you can use the hotkeys which you can find in the Add menu to the right. Select the Container. Add Heading 2, Text and Button. Let’s also add an Icon. Click Add - Icon, or press the “I” hotkey. In the dialog enter “idea” into the search field. Select this icon. To change the element order, select the element. In the element toolbar click the Up and the Down Arrows, or press Ctrl with Up/Down arrows, to switch the element order. Move the Icon over all other elements in the Container. To add an element after the current one, select this element then add a new one via the Add menu. Click Add - Text - Subtitle. Modify the Subtitle. Add more text into the text element. You see that this element and the Container grow down automatically. The Containers also grows while adding more controls. Change the Container Height and Width by pulling the markers on the Container borders. Container Customizing There are several operations available for the selected container in the Right Panel. It is very easy to add the common background under the Container elements. Enable the Fill in the Right Panel. Change the background color. Move the element. Resize, if needed. Drag the element out and then drag it back into the Container. While moving in and out, you see the tool-tip showing where the element is placed. Align the elements with the magnetic guides, that are very handy, as always. Also use the Auto-align in the Right Panel. Select the Container and click the Arrange buttons to align elements horizontally and vertically. Customizing Inner Spacing It is also very easy to modify the inner space of the Container. Add horizontal padding by clicking and pulling the left orange marker to the right, and the right one - to the left. Add spacing between elements. Click and pull the orange marker at the top of the text element. You see that all elements placed below the current one are also moved. Isn’t that nice? Containers and Responsive Modes What happens with the Container elements in the Mobile Views? Note again, the main benefit of using the Container is that, most times, you do not need to do any additional settings for the inner texts in the Responsive Modes. With this we are finishing our presentation about the Container.

CSS Responsive Multiple Column Flexible Layout Tutorial

14:48
This demonstrates a two column CSS layout with flexible images for a responsive mobile first design. You use the mobile first design approach and the flexible image design first technique. You will use link elements to target the screen width breakpoint detection and select the CSS files. These files will progressively modify styles as the screen width increases. Then within each width you see how to add @media selector queries to handle specific needs such as screen orientation and intermediate screen widths. Now you have a basic responsive layout example. It uses the mobile first and flexible image approach. It uses link elements to target the screen width detection. Then it progressively adds styles as width breakpoints increase. Then within each width breakpoint we added media queries to handle specific needs such as screen orientation an intermediate screen widths. Blog article and source files: http://bit.ly/1mtCiWC

Quick and simple CSS browser selection using PHP

02:55
Targeting CSS styles for specific platforms, browsers and even browser versions just got a lot easier thanks to the PHP CSS Browser Selector. I originally found out about this from a post over at the Web Resources Depot. Once you've added the small PHP file to your site you simply write one line of PHP to the body tag and you're done. What's great about using a PHP solution is that the classes are available immediately so there's no layout jump which usually happens when applying styles using a Javascript method. Div align vertical and horizontal with auto height in Hindi - Web Designing Trick

09:52
vertical align, horizontal align, align center an element vertically & horizontally, auto height vertical align, center div vertically, css center text vertically, center div on page, css center image, css float center, margin auto, div align center, css vertical center text, vertically center text in div, vertical align div inside div, vertical align middle not working, vertical align middle div, vertical align image in div, bootstrap vertical center, horizontal align css Hello friends, main vikash aapka dost or host lekar aaya hoon ek aisa topic jisne lagbhag sabhi HTML designers ko pareshaan kiya hoga. ji haan main baat kar raha hoon ek HTML element ki jiski height auto hain or sath mein vertically or horizontally center bhi hain. aaiye dekhte hain is process ko kaise pOOra kiya jaaye. sabse pahle HTML se start karenge. main yanha par HTML likh raha hoon. sath mein apni HTML file ko save karenge sabse pahle. main save kar raha hoon. ek folder le leta hoon. Folder ka main naam dedeta hoon isko div align center iske andar mein apni file ko save kar doonga. File ka naam main index.html dedeta hoon save par click kiya. Ab yanha maine HTML ka poora tag le liya ek baar phir karke dikha deta hoon. File ko save kar deta hoon. sabse pahle hum ek tag banaynge div tag lenge ye wo hi element hai joki vertically, horizontally center mein hoga but auto height ke sath maine class liya sath m mene isko class ka naam diya centerdiv or is div tag k andar m lore spem jo ek dummmy content hota hai wo dal deta hun. Mene ya pe is content ko daal diya hain. Ab ye ek tag mera ban chuka hai lekin ispe abhi koi bhi formatting nahi hui hain. To formatting karne k liye main html k andar style tag likhta hoon uske andar main apni css likhunga is css ko main centerdiv jo class li hain maine uske ooper formatting karunga sari yanha maine apni class select kar liya iske andar sabse pahle apne div block ko format karunga uski height vagaihara, dunga ek baar browser pe isko run karke dekh lete hain ki hamara HTML page kaisa dikh raha hain. Main apne usi folder ke andar jata hoon or ye mere page load ho gaya. dekhye wo jo lorem spem hame content dala tha wo show ho gaya.Lakin abhi koi formatting nahi hain. formatting krne k liye css use karni padegi. To css use karte hain. Sabse pahle main iski width 300px de deta hoon. Sath mein ise background color de deta hoon jisse hamen pata chal jayga ki hamara container kaha tak hai. Black backgound diya sath m border de deta hoon 1px width ke sath. Or apne container ka jo font color hai use white dedeta hoon ye hamare container ki formatting ho gai hain dekhinye ye is trah se show ho raha hain. Ab apne container ko hum margin de dete hai. margin ki properties almost sabhi developers, designers ko pata hoti hain ki agar hum left or right se margin auto kar dete hai or width set karte hai to center align ho jata hai. Ye dekhiye margin auto karte hi center align ho gaya hai. Hamara block ab hum isme padding daal dete hain 10px ki sorry 15px le lete hai jisse hamara block ka content thoda accha sa lage. Hamara container beech mein aa gaya hain content bhi accha, sundar dikhne laga hain. Ab hamre samne hain isko vertically or horizontally align karne ki chunautee. Uske liye sabse pahle m apne div container ki jo poistion hain usko absolute karta hoon jis wo apne parent ke andar freee ho jayga. sath mein main usko poistion left 50% or top se 50% position de deta hoon. Ye dekhiye ab hamara jo container hai uska jo cordinate hain ye yaha se 50% ho gaya hai top se, or left se 50% ho gaya. lakin hamen apne container ko proper center karna hai na ki 50% left or 50% top. To usko karne ke liye CSS3 ki property hai transform hum transform use karenge. Tranform ki ek property hain translate joki x or y cordinates par kaam karti hain. Hum apne container ki height or width ki 50% minus, minus karke uske cordinates ko ghata denge jisse hamara container puri tarha se center align ho jayga or dekhiye dekhne wali baat ye hai ki hamare is container ki koi height nahi hain ye auto height par chal raha hain. humne yaha koi height define nahi ki hai. CSS3 Tutorial - Responsive Website Layout Media Queries CSS Stylesheets

05:26
Lesson Code: http://www.developphp.com/video/CSS/Media-Queries-Responsive-Website-Layout-Tutorial Learn to create responsive website layouts using CSS3 media queries. Media queries allow us to target a particular media type and then apply zero or more expressions that check for the conditions of particular media features. Using this logic we can adjust all CSS for our site according to the screen size of the device that a user is viewing it with. It will also be responsive if the user resizes their browser window well after your page loads. An alternative to a responsive layout is to simply use percentages for the width values of your elements. But some developers must completely restructure the layout according to the screen size of the viewer. That is where a responsive layout is applied. It also makes you look very capable in your web site design skills. Contact Form 7 Tutorial - Create a 2-Column Responsive Form With Contact Form 7 | CF7 Tuts Part 4

25:43
Contact Form 7 Tutorial - Create a 2-Column Responsive Form With Contact Form 7 Check out https://happyforms.me/ , it's a cool new form builder that you may like better than CF7 (and it's free!): HappyForms.me Exclusive for WPLearningLab viewers, up to 50% off hosting: https://wplearninglab.com/wordpress-hosting-offer/ Putting the contact form code into the YouTube description didn't make sense because YouTube doesn't allow pointy brackets, which there are a lot of in this code. So instead, you can find it here: https://wplearninglab.com/contact-form-7-2-column-responsive-form Below are the CSS styles I mention in the video: /*--- 2 Column Form Styles Start ---*/ #left { width: 47%; float: left; margin-right:6%; } #right { width: 47%; float: left; } .clearfix:after { content:"\0020"; display:block; height:0; clear:both; visibility:hidden; overflow:hidden; margin-bottom:10px; } .clearfix { display:block; } /*--- 2 Column Form Styles End ---*/ With over 1 million active downloads, the Contact Form 7 (https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/) plugin by Takayuki Miyoshi is one of the most popular contact form plugins around. And for good reason. It makes contact forms a breeze. In this Contact Form 7 tutorial I'm going to show you how to create a 2-column Responsive form using Contact Form 7. They key to creating a contact form using Contact Form 7 with two columns is the use of HTML Div tags and CSS floats. A regular WordPress contact form is nice, but the two columns really adds a bit of polish. First things first, if you haven't installed Contact Form 7 yet, let's do that. To install this plugin please log into your WordPress dashboard, hover over Plugins and then click on Add New. On the next page type "Contact Form 7" into the search bar. The plugin we want should be the first one in the top left. Click on the Install Now button and then click Activate after it's installed. It will add a new menu item in the left hand admin menu called Contact Form. Hover over that click on Add New. You will taken to the new form creator. First enter a name for your contact form and then paste the HTML form code into the form editor. Next, click on the Mail tab to customize the email that is generated when the form is submitted. Make sure you add all of the available fields that are at the top of the Mail tab. Watch the video to see how to do this in detail. When you're done, click on Save Changes. Next, we need to add this form to a page. After saving a blue bar will appear at the top of the form editor. Inside that blue bar is the shortcode for your form. Copy that code. Now go to Pages, then Add New to create a new page OR find the page where your contact form needs to live. Inside the page editor paste the shortcode and click on Update to save the page. When you view the page, you will see a 1 column form. Now it's time to make it 2-column and responsive using CSS. Back inside the WordPress admin find a place where you can add custom CSS. Your theme may have a special spot in the Theme Options section or you may have a code insert plugin or you may have a plugin that allows you to add CSS directly to specific pages. However it is that you add CSS, do that. Just paste in the CSS and save. As long as you didn't change the HTML, your contact form 7 will now be 2 column responsive! And that's how easy it is to create a contact form WordPress. I hope this information helps you! How to Change the Content Width of your WordPress Website

04:44
LINK TO CODE: https://therevisionist.org/software-engineering/wordpress/increase-page-width/ If you found this video helpful like it and share it with anyone who might find it useful too. I would appreciate it! So in this tutorial I show you how to change the width of your webpage content area using custom css code. The code that I present is specifically for the colorlib WordPress theme, but can easily be customized for your own website theme; feel free to ask me how if you need help. You need to use the @media min-width code so that your website properly resizes depending upon the screen size of the device. Just changing the width of the content area without setting up a min-width will cause your website to resize in an awful way. --- My Gear (づ⌐■ ͜ʖ■)づ ✪ I need to buy this webcam: http://amzn.to/2fWi3b7 ✪ I like this keyboard a lot: https://therevisionist.org/reviews/the-magicforce-68-keys-mini-mechanical-keyboard/ ✪ This is the mic that I use now: http://amzn.to/2gqS6AO ♥ I love My SSD, so fast!: https://therevisionist.org/reviews/pny-cs1311-internal-ssd/ ✪ HDD vs SSD Reliability: https://therevisionist.org/reviews/ssd-vs-hdd-one-reliable/ ✪ SSD vs HDD power consumption: https://therevisionist.org/reviews/ssd-vs-hdd-power-consumption/ Follow me ┴┬┴┤( ͡° ͜ʖ├┬┴┬ ✪ My Subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bio_Hacking/ ✪ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100010037778391 ✪ Twitter: https://twitter.com/raqib_zaman ✪ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+RaqibZaman So in this tutorial I will be showing you how to increase the width of the content area of your webpage without breaking your website’s responsiveness. The code that I have left at the bottom of this page specifically works for the Colorlib Sparkling theme, however you can easily adjust it so that it works with your own custom theme. What’s @media? First, let me explain how the code works. First, the selector starts with the @media rule that is used in CSS to define different styles rules for the multitudes of different screen sizes of electronic devices. After that comes the (min-width: 1400px) parameters that assigns the minimum width the size of the screen must be in order for the @media rule to trigger. If the @media rule is triggered, then the declaration body or block comes into affect. The declaration body is the code in between the {} curly brackets. Where do I find the selector for my Website content area? So within the first curly brackets you want to add the selector that represents the content area of your website. For the Sparkling theme, that would be .container . If you have a different WordPress theme, then what you can do is right-click the content area of one of your website’s webpages and select Inspect Element or your browser’s equivalent. Hover your mouse cursor up or down the lines of code until the main content area of your webpage is highlighted; this line of code is usually near the top. Then all you have to do is take the selector from the line of code that corresponds to the highlighted main content area. There are two ways to find the selector. 1. Notice in the image above the line of code that is selected: div class=”container main-content-area”. There are actually two selectors you can take from the class=”…” . They are container and main-content-area . Usually the first selector is what you looking for. 2. Alternatively, look at the rules for the selected line of code. If a selector’s declaration body mentions different pixel widths (in order to responsively change content area size depending on device screen size), then you want to choose that selector. What goes in the declaration body of .container? So within the declaration body of .container or the equivalent selector for your website’s main content area, you want assign a width that is slightly smaller than @media’s min-width paramter For example, if min-width is 1400px, you want to assign .container {width:1300px;} . Finally, .main-content-inner.col-sm-12.col-md-8 refers to the content area, whereas #secondary.widget-area.col-sm-12.col-md-4 refers to the sidebar area. I believe they have something to do with bootstrap, if you want to investigate. Read more here: https://therevisionist.org/software-engineering/wordpress/increase-page-width/

Simple Responsive Navigation Menu Bar with Logo on Left Using HTML5 and CSS3 Flexbox - Tutorial

22:57
Simple Responsive Navigation Menu Bar with Logo on Left Using only HTML5 and CSS3 Flexbox - Youtube Tutorial - smashtheshell https://youtu.be/SPQ17nosfyg WHAT WILL YOU LEARN? How to a simple Responsive Navigation Menu Bar or navbar Design using only HTML and CSS Flexbox Module for mobiles and small screen devices without using jquery or bootstrap framework. In this video tutorial for responsive navigation menu design, for the larger devices like desktop or laptop logo will be on the left-hand side and menu links will display on the right-hand side of the screen. And for the smaller screen devices like handheld or mobile phones, the logo will be displayed at the top and beneath the logo, our navigation menu items will be displayed. This is the simple and mobile first responsive navigation bar with the logo without dropdown. So I'll design this menu bar for the mobile devices first and then we'll scale it up for the larger devices like desktop, tablets or laptops. WHAT ELSE WILL I LEARN? You will learn CSS tricks to add a nice animated underline hover effect for menu items in your responsive navbar. Two underlines will slide from left and right and meet at the bottom center of you menu links on hover. I will show you nice css3 tricks create custom underline using after and before pseudo element selectors. HOW WILL WE CREATE OUR NAVIGATION MENU? We will start creating the HTML markup for the navigation menu and use the HTML5 nav element and unordered lists with the anchor tag to put our all of the internal site links. Then we will go ahead and start writing our CSS for the mobile navigation menu which will have the logo on the top in the header.
