Introduction to Operational Amplifier: Characteristics of Ideal Op-Amp

13:10
In this video, the basic introduction of the Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp) has been given and different characteristics of ideal and real Op-amp (General Purpose 741 Op-Amp) has been discussed. What is Operational Amplifier: Operational Amplifier is one kind of Very High Gain Differential Amplifier with a single output. Using this Op-Amp it is possible to perform different mathematic operations (by connecting few external resistors and capacitors) like addition, subtraction, integration, differentiation etc. And that is why it is known as Operational Amplifier. Opamp consist of two inputs : 1) Inverting Input 2) Non-Inverting Input The output of the Op-amp in open loop configuration is the product of open-loop gain and the difference between two inputs. As, the gain of the Op-amp is very high, so in open loop configuration, even a small input signal will saturate the op-amp output. And the saturation voltage depends on the biasing voltages. Characteristics of Ideal Op-amp: 1) Infinite Input Impedance 2) Zero Output Impedance 3) Infinite Voltage Gain 4) Infinite Bandwidth 5) Infinite Slew Rate 6) Infinite Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR ) 7) Zero input offset voltage (Output is Zero when input is Zero) The timestamps for the different topics covered in the video is given below: 0:37 What is Operational Amplifier and Why it is known as Operational Amplifier? 1:17 Circuit Symbol of Op-Amp and Op-Amp in the open loop configuration 5:00 Voltage Transfer Curve of op-amp 7:24 Equivalent Circuit of the Op-amp 7:47 Ideal Op-amp characteristics 12:00 Characteristics or different parameters of General Purpose Op-Amp (741) This video will be helpful to all students of science and engineering in understanding the Operational Amplifier and its different Characteristics. #OperationalAmplifier #OpAmp #CharacterisitcsofIdealOpAmp Follow me on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/allaboutelectronics Follow me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ALLABOUTELECRONICS/ Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/all_about.electronics/ Music Credit: http://www.bensound.com/

Perfect competition: Characteristics of perfect competition

04:50
Characteristics of perfect competition. For perfect competition to exists a number of conditions must be present: many buyers and sellers, homogenous product, no collusion, perfect information, freedom of entry and exit, no regulation, mobility of the factors of production. Under perfect competition firms are price takers and not price makers.

7 Main Differences Between Rich and Poor People

11:00
How to Become Rich. Not every rich person is born into a wealthy family, so how do so many well-off people reach their financial goals? A major difference between rich people and those who have money problems can be found in the way they think, act, and see the world. Check out these 7 differences between the rich and poor and use them as your own financial tips to become rich. TIMESTAMPS Rich people don't try to show off their wealth. 0:55 Rich people invest money in certain expensive items. 2:28 Rich people make their money work for them while poor people work for their money. 6:46 Rich people know how to manage their money. 7:42 Rich people see opportunities while poor people see obstacles. 8:18 Rich people concentrate on what they want to achieve while poor people focus on what they want to avoid. 8:59 Rich people face problems while poor people try to ignore problems until it's too late. 9:45 Music: Andrew Huang - Club https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Those who have a lot of money don’t always flaunt their wealth. It may sound surprising, but there's no real need to buy a pair of $1,000 jeans if you can find a high-quality product that’s 10 times cheaper. -Things rich people don’t save on are: coffee machine, induction stove, LED light bulbs, energy-saving glass, thermostatic shower faucet. -Rich people don't keep their income in savings accounts; they have funds in their budget that they can invest, and they do this regularly. -Rich people don't overspend. If they use a credit card, they do everything to avoid paying finance charges. -Rich people see opportunities for growth and success in everything they do. -The rich are willing to overcome obstacles to achieve their goals. They realize that you can’t win without taking risks. -Rich people choose to face their fears to become a more successful and powerful individual. Tricks for Qualitative Analysis | Cations | Jee Mains, Advance, NEET, BITSAT and AIIMS

39:40
Hello Guys, Memorizing Qualitative analysis isn't a good idea at all. So, IITian explains is going to make it easiest ever. Learn some super crazy tricks for Salt analysis. Qualitative Cation Analysis The composition of relatively complex mixtures of metal ions can be determined using qualitative analysis, a procedure for discovering the identity of metal ions present in the mixture (rather than quantitative information about their amounts). The procedure used to separate and identify more than 20 common metal cations from a single solution consists of selectively precipitating only a few kinds of metal ions at a time under given sets of conditions. Consecutive precipitation steps become progressively less selective until almost all of the metal ions are precipitated. Group 1: Insoluble Chlorides Most metal chloride salts are soluble in water; only Ag+, Pb2+, and Hg22+ form chlorides that precipitate from water. Thus the first step in a qualitative analysis is to add about 6 M HCl, thereby causing AgCl, PbCl2, and/or Hg2Cl2 to precipitate. If no precipitate forms, then these cations are not present in significant amounts. The precipitate can be collected by filtration or centrifugation. Group 2: Acid-Insoluble Sulfides Next, the acidic solution is saturated with H2S gas. Only those metal ions that form very insoluble sulfides, such as As3+, Bi3+, Cd2+, Cu2+, Hg2+, Sb3+, and Sn2+, precipitate as their sulfide salts under these acidic conditions. All others, such as Fe2+ and Zn2+, remain in solution. Once again, the precipitates are collected by filtration or centrifugation. Group 3: Base-Insoluble Sulfides (and Hydroxides) Ammonia or NaOH is now added to the solution until it is basic, and then (NH4)2S is added. This treatment removes any remaining cations that form insoluble hydroxides or sulfides. The divalent metal ions Co2+, Fe2+, Mn2+, Ni2+, and Zn2+ precipitate as their sulfides, and the trivalent metal ions Al3+ and Cr3+ precipitate as their hydroxides: Al(OH)3 and Cr(OH)3. If the mixture contains Fe3+, sulfide reduces the cation to Fe2+, which precipitates as FeS. Group 4: Insoluble Carbonates or Phosphates The next metal ions to be removed from solution are those that form insoluble carbonates and phosphates. When Na2CO3 is added to the basic solution that remains after the precipitated metal ions are removed, insoluble carbonates precipitate and are collected. Alternatively, adding (NH4)2HPO4 causes the same metal ions to precipitate as insoluble phosphates. Group 5: Alkali Metals At this point, we have removed all the metal ions that form water-insoluble chlorides, sulfides, carbonates, or phosphates. The only common ions that might remain are any alkali metals (Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+, and Cs+) and ammonium (NH4+). We now take a second sample from the original solution and add a small amount of NaOH to neutralize the ammonium ion and produce NH3. (We cannot use the same sample we used for the first four groups because we added ammonium to that sample in earlier steps.) Any ammonia produced can be detected by either its odor or a litmus paper test. A flame test on another original sample is used to detect sodium, which produces a characteristic bright yellow color. The other alkali metal ions also give characteristic colors in flame tests, which allows them to be identified if only one is present. Metal ions that precipitate together are separated by various additional techniques, such as forming complex ions, changing the pH of the solution, or increasing the temperature to redissolve some of the solids. For example, the precipitated metal chlorides of group 1 cations, containing Ag+, Pb2+, and Hg22+, are all quite insoluble in water. Because PbCl2 is much more soluble in hot water than are the other two chloride salts, however, adding water to the precipitate and heating the resulting slurry will dissolve any PbCl2 present. Isolating the solution and adding a small amount of Na2CrO4 solution to it will produce a bright yellow precipitate of PbCrO4 if Pb2+ were in the original sample. Summary In qualitative analysis, the identity, not the amount, of metal ions present in a mixture is determined. The technique consists of selectively precipitating only a few kinds of metal ions at a time under given sets of conditions. Consecutive precipitation steps become progressively less selective until almost all the metal ions are precipitated. Other additional steps are needed to separate metal ions that precipitate together. Management & Cost Accounting: Cost Allocation (Part 2)

42:24
Lecture 10: Cost Allocation: Departments, Joint Products, and By-Products by Professor Noel Cooperberg (Chapter 7) After solving an exercise begun in the previous lecture, the Professor goes over modern implementation challenges and ethical issues that arise with regards to cost allocation. An overview of joint product costing is given followed by detailed explanations and examples for each of the three methods (relative physical units method, relative sales values at split-off, relative net realizable values [NRV] ). Begins with Exercise Solutions / Review (when students talk, a bit difficult to hear) Implementation Challenges: 13:49 Ethical Issues in Cost Allocation: 17:02 Overview of Joint Product Costing: 20:35 Physical Units Method: 23:40 (with example and summary) Relative Sales Values at Split-off Method: 25:07 (with example and summary) Net Realizable Value (NRV) Method: 32:03 (with definition and example) There is a challenge in determining which method is the most cost effective for the company. It can also be difficult to determine an allocation base and percentage that is reflective of usage (to ensure that managers are given appropriate incentive). Allocation of budgeted costs is more predictable and less dependent upon other departments, therefore more motivating. Allocated costs can exceed external purchase costs. Ethical issues can arise in cost allocation. The allocation method may effect the cost of the products sold to foreign subsidiaries. By increasing allocated costs to high-tax countries or to countries where the firm does not have favorable tax treatment, the firm can reduce its overall tax liability. International tax authorities watch the allocation methods of multinationals very closely. Some manufacturers yield more than one product from a common input. This is called a joint production process. Joint products each have relatively substantial sales values. For example, oil can be used for gasoline, heating oil, kerosene, and asphalt. Products whose total sales values are minor in comparison to the sales value of the joint products are by-products. For example, in beef processing, the cuts of meat are the "main product", whilst offal are byproducts. A primary characteristic of joint products is that the cost of the different products is incurred in an indivisible sum for all products. A physical measure, such as pounds, gallons, or yards are used to allocate the joint costs. Joint products and by-products start as the same raw material. Until the split-off point, no distinction can be made between the products. Joint costs include all manufacturing costs incurred prior to split-off. Costs incurred after split-off are called additional processing costs or separable costs. There are 3 methods to allocate joint product costs: relative physical units produced, relative sales values at split-off, and relative net realizable values (NRV) of the products. The physical units method advantages are that it is easy to use and the criterion for allocation is objective. Disadvantages are that it ignores the revenue producing capability of each product, and each product can have its own unique physical measure. Relative sales values at split-off method allocates joint costs based on the relative sales values at the split-off point. The method can only be used when joint products can be sold at the split-off point. Advantages are that it is easy to calculate, and costs are allocated according to the product's revenue. Disadvantages are that the market prices in some industries change frequently and the sales price at split-off might not be available because additional processing is necessary. The net realizable value (NRV) method is appropriate when joint products cannot be sold at splitoff. NRV is th e product's estimated sales at splitoff. NRV is calculated by subtracting additional processing and selling costs beyond the split-off point from the estimated sales value of the product. What is HEDONIC REGRESSION? What does HEDONIC REGRESSION mean? HEDONIC REGRESSION meaning

07:57
What is HEDONIC REGRESSION? What does HEDONIC REGRESSION mean? HEDONIC REGRESSION meaning - HEDONIC REGRESSION definition - HEDONIC REGRESSION explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. In economics, hedonic regression or hedonic demand theory is a revealed preference method of estimating demand or value. It decomposes the item being researched into its constituent characteristics, and obtains estimates of the contributory value of each characteristic. This requires that the composite good being valued can be reduced to its constituent parts and that the market values those constituent parts. Hedonic models are most commonly estimated using regression analysis, although more generalized models, such as sales adjustment grids, are special cases of hedonic models. An attribute vector, which may be a dummy or panel variable, is assigned to each characteristic or group of characteristics. Hedonic models can accommodate non-linearity, variable interaction, or other complex valuation situations. Hedonic models are commonly used in real estate appraisal, real estate economics, and Consumer Price Index (CPI) calculations. In CPI calculations hedonic regression is used to control the effect of changes in product quality. Price changes that are due to substitution effects are subject to hedonic quality adjustments. Although product characteristics are neither produced nor consumed in isolation, hedonic price models assume that the price of a product reflects embodied characteristics valued by some implicit or shadow prices. In empirical studies, these implicit characteristic prices are coefficients that relate prices and attributes in a regression model. Hedonic price regression models are estimated using secondary data on prices and attributes of different product or service alternatives. In working with longitudinal data, one adds period-specific dummies and uses their regression coefficients to estimate quality-adjusted price indices. In hedonic regression, independent variables typically include performance-related product and service attributes. Such product characteristics represent not only value to the user but also resource cost to the producer. It has been demonstrated however that prices in hedonic regression are not determined completely by technical factors and performance-related characteristics. Brand-name and market-segment effects can explain price distortions and premiums that are charged over and above any allowance made for differences in measurable product performance. Certain environmental services often influence the market prices. The Hedonic pricing method is often brought into play in order to assess the economic values of such services. This method finds its application to reveal the effect of environmental attributes in changes in the local real estate pricing. It is frequently used for estimating costs related to: The overall quality of the environment in terms of air pollution, water pollution, and noise Environmental amenities which include aesthetic sights and closeness to recreational sites such as parks, beaches, etc.

Selecting a characteristic set of reviews (KDD 2012)

14:09
Selecting a characteristic set of reviews KDD 2012 Theodoros Lappas Mark Crovella Evimaria Terzi Online reviews provide consumers with valuable information that guides their decisions on a variety of fronts: from entertainment and shopping to medical services. Although the proliferation of online reviews gives insights about different aspects of a product, it can also prove a serious drawback: consumers cannot and will not read thousands of reviews before making a purchase decision. This need to extract useful information from large review corpora has spawned considerable prior work, but so far all have drawbacks. Review summarization (generating statistical descriptions of review sets) sacrifices the immediacy and narrative structure of reviews. Likewise, review selection (identifying a subset of 'helpful' or 'important' reviews) leads to redundant or non-representative summaries. In this paper, we fill the gap between existing review-summarization and review-selection methods by selecting a small subset of reviews that together preserve the statistical properties of the entire review corpus. We formalize this task as a combinatorial optimization problem and show that it NP-hard both tosolve and approximate. We also design effective algorithms that prove to work well in practice. Our experiments with real review corpora on different types of products demonstrate the utility of our methods, and our user studies indicate that our methods provide a better summary than prior approaches.
