"Educational" temperature controller. (In a bad way.)

13:49
This module looks so good at first. Chunky terminals and relay and then a very modular design with integrated switchmode supply allowing a wide operating voltage range. Add the distinct display/interface section and an intriguing thermocouple to serial converter and it looks the part. But looks aren't everything.... Do you think I gave this a fair test? Contactor vs Relay - Difference between Relay and Contactor

02:28
Contactor vs relay - Difference between Relay and Contactor To turn things on and off, we need devices that are switchable by the application of a current or voltage. Electrically, we have transistors and integrated circuits. Mechanically, we have relays and contactors. The main difference between contactors and relays is the loads that they are meant to handle. Contactors are used for loads that have high voltages, high currents, or both. Contactors are used for devices that pass more than 15 amps or loads of more than 3kW. For lower amounts, ordinary relays are used. In this video we learn difference between contactors and relays. Fake Omron relays with smoky issues.

15:44
I bought a few of these very common Omron clone relays from various sellers on eBay to check out. The 12V units seem OK, but the 240V ones have a very silly issue that is so common with this type of cloned product. Grossly overloaded components. And in this case a completely unnecessary one. Keep in mind that while some of these relays may be fine for personal projects or prototyping, I don't recommend their use in professional equipment for liability reasons. 20141218 - Temperature Sensor for Lazer Cutting Machine

00:54
Made a temperature sensor for the laser cutting machine. Steady green means OK. Blinking green means laser tube temp is on warning temperature. Steady read means max temperature reached. The relay would then trip off to shut down the whole system for the laser machine. The relay will connect again if laser tube is at normal temperature.

Relay - Contactor with push button ON OFF control

06:36
As requested by some of my subscribers I visualize the ON - OFF switching arrangement with a relay / contactor in this video. An old streetlight contactor / relay was used in this example with the 3 phase contacts bridged for single phase to allow for a higher current loading under the highly inductive ballasted street light loads. Schematics are attached. It is important that the push buttons have their own spare trigger contact, to avoid the buttons carrying the load current at switch on and burning out the buttons. Troubleshooting Electric Water Heaters in MINUTES ~ Step By Step

06:53
A very nice video tutorial on how you can easily identify the cause of an electric water heater failure by performing various voltage and resistance tests. AFTER you establish that there is power being supplied to the water heater, ALL remaining tests are done with the POWER OFF to the water heater. You'll need a phillips & slot screwdriver, as well as a digital or analog multimeter. *** If you have any "simple" questions, please post them in the comments section. I will try my best to reply back as soon as possible. I have lots of people that request "Special Assistance", or send me private YT messages seeking "Special Assistance" in response to one or more of my over 475 videos, even though I would love to assist everyone possible, and usually I do (which many other YT channels do not, that I know for an absolute fact), I am finding it very difficult to keep up with all the requests, due to a lack of time(working & personal life). Answering simple questions, I will always continue to do, but I have adopted a new policy in which I ask any viewer who seeks, "An Advanced Level Of Help" to post (1) link in the video comment section showing that they shared my Youtube Channel main page with others(posting a link on another website, Twitter, Facebook, etc). By doing so, I will then be glad to assist at a "higher" level. I have no problem helping, but viewers looking for help, should also help me in return by supporting my channel. Making a latching circuit with a contactor presented by Katie Nyberg for Galco TV. Buy the items featured in this video at 800-337-1720 or visit: http://www.galco.com/get/Contactors?source=YouTubeHowTo This video will show you how make a latching circuit or a on/off switch with a contactor or relay. With a latching circuit, the contacts will remain on once input power is applied and will remain on until the connection is broken. For this set up you will need a contactor, auxiliary contact, normally open pushbutton switch and a normally closed pushbutton switch. A relay can be used in place of a contactor as long as there is an auxiliary contact that will close when the coil is actuated. Aquatstats

01:20
An aquastat is a device commonly used to control water temperatures in water heating systems. Think of them as thermostats for water. You must pay close attention to the operating temperature range and differential temperature when selecting an aquastat for your application. Depending on the type of unit you use, the aquastat will turn equipment either on or off when water in the system reaches each of these settings. The differential temperature equals the temperature setting minus the differential. Some aquastats have fixed differentials, but many offer adjustable differentials, typically between 5°F and 30°F. There are three types of aquastats: high limit, low limit, and circualtor aquastats. High limit aquastats are normally used with hydronic heating boilers. They turn the boiler off when the system reaches the temperature setting and turn it back on when the system drops to the temperature setting minus the differential. Low limit aquastats also turn equipment on when temperatures drop to the high limit temperature minus the differential, but they are generally used for maintaining minimum boiler temperatures in boilers that service domestic hot water as well as heating. High and low limit aquastats are often referred to as "break on rise" models. They prevent boilers from firing too frequently. Circulator aquastats, make an electrical circuit on a temperature rise, activate circulator pumps when temperatures reach the setpoint. prevent circulation of water below the target heating level, and turn circulators off when temperatures go down to the differential setting. Optional features for aquastats include wells for direct immersion, strap-on brackets for pipe mounting, remote sensing bulbs, and manual reset. Some models are able to perform multiple functions, such as circulator and high limit. We offer a wide selection of aquastats and wells for regulating the temperature of liquids.

Troubleshoot the oil furnace part 3. Fire comes on but shuts down.

08:35
This one covers troubleshooting the cad cell and the cad cell relay. This video is part of the heating and cooling series of training videos made to accompany my websites: www.graycoolingman.com and www.grayfurnaceman.com to pass on what I have learned in many years of service and repair. If you have suggestions or comments they are welcome. If you are a homeowner looking to repair your own appliance, understand that the voltages can be lethal, the fuels are highly flammable and high pressures are used. Know your limits.

Autonomous Three phase induction motor protection system with temperature control

00:49
Autonomous Three phase induction motor protection system with temperature control. In this project, relay & bulbs are used to show the input phase & output phase. When any input phase goes down out of 3 phase, output phase automatically goes down so that 3 phase induction motor could safe. If temperature of 3 phase induction motor goes high predefined limit, again 3 phase induction toon motor goes down for protection. This is electrical project based on Arduino. If anyone wanna this project, we can design in any micro controller.

HOW RCCB TRIP IN HINDI-RESIDUAL CURRENT CIRCUIT BREAKER

06:40
In this tutorial we explain how rccb trip practically, We know rccb has earth fault protection and shock protection,so when our or phase are going or earth than our rccb trip. When any person or other device are come in contact with supply and rccb connect than person will ok because current will flow from body to earth so our rccb trip and protection will be good. In today rccb is essential component of power supply for protection purpose . For more information just watch and learn What is the diffrence between MCB AND RCCB https://youtu.be/kpHOU13783w How to check induction motor https://youtu.be/1on8bwUk5WQ How to control temperature with PID controller https://youtu.be/1on8bwUk5WQ

Please support my content creation by using my Amazon Store: http://astore.amazon.com/m0711-20 ------------------------------ Click "Show more" ------------------------------------------- In this video: * We take a look inside a thermal magnetic circuit breaker to see how it works with both AC and DC. * I do a practical demonstration on how the circuit breaker works to protect against overloads and short circuits. * We take a look at some circuit breaker ratings such as: In: Rated current - maximum current that the breaker is designed to carry continuously at an ambient air temperature of 30 °C. Icu: Ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity. Ics: service short-circuit breaking capacity. * I test what parameters (voltage vs current) affect the overload protection of a circuit. * I demonstrate the instantaneous breaking / tripping capability of a circuit breaker on an oscilloscope under various loads. * I show circuit beakers that are designed to cater for electric motor start-up inrush current with an adjustable instantaneous trip setting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circuit_breaker#Standard_current_ratings Understanding Electric shock / Electrocution: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_shock ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My website and forum:- http://www.mjlorton.com Donations and contributions:- http://www.mjlorton.com My techie channel MJLorton - Solar Power and Electronic Measurement Equipment - http://www.youtube.com/MJLorton My Techie Amazon Store: http://astore.amazon.com/m0711-20 My other channel VBlogMag - For almost any topic under the sun! - http://www.youtube.com/VBlogMag My VBlogMag Amazon Store: http://astore.amazon.com/vblogmag-20 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ =================================================== Video sponsor, Pass Ltd - their websites: At checkout use the discount / promotion code "mjlorton" for 5% off. http://www.tester.co.uk/?cmid=QmhzQjcxYjVlc1E9&afid=bFcwbzliNzVDc289&ats=K2EyUjZNTDh3UTA9 - Test Equipment and Test-meter suppliers and http://www.calibrate.co.uk/?cmid=QmhzQjcxYjVlc1E9&afid=bFcwbzliNzVDc289&ats=S3Yxd2tOMjVISzA9 - Calibration and service of test equipment =================================================== $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Bitcoin (BTC) Donations: 1K7PeF55e7ssE7W3WVCoa7c4j2PHzy6ASv $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ********************************************************************************** Music clip from Youtube Music Library - Phase Three by Huma-Huma **********************************************************************************

Simple Kenmore / Whirlpool Dryer Repair

04:22
This video is about how to reset a non ressetable thermal cutout fuse. This fuse will blow if the dryer overheats due to an airflow issue or a failed thermostat. Symptoms of this thermostat being bad are, the dryer runs, but doesn't heat. If you test the thermostat with an ohm meter and get no resistance, simply slamming the thermostat on the ground will reset it. After doing this to the thermostats, I've placed them on dryers that I know are working fine and have had no issues with the repaired thermostats. This is basically a free repair for your dryer if that cutoff is bad. Here is a link to a follow up video I've done on this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPXg3KhLks8 Thanks for Watching! Nissan Murano Secret Diagnostic Menu

07:20
This works on any Nissan Murano, as far as I know (including the older models with monocrome "orange" display). With the engine running and the stereo "off," hold down preset #4 while rotating the volume knob counterclockwise (about 30 clicks), until you hear a short "beep." You're in. Have fun! I take no responsibility for damage to your vehicle if something goes horribly wrong (though there does not appear to be anything that can be changed from here, but proceed with caution anyway).

How To Enter Gauge Diagnostic Mode-Honda Civic (8th Gen 2006-2011)

02:19
In this video, I show you how to enter the Honda Civic gauge diagnostic mode. It is a really cool feature, and I really liked the way that it looked on my 8th gen Civic Si. This is how you enter it: -make sure that the key is in the off position -hold "select" button down (left side of dashboard) -turn headlights on -turn key to II position (second position) -turn headlights off, then on, then off again -push "select" 3 times quickly It is a fairly simple process once you get the hang of it, and it allows you to see if all of your dashboard lights are working (and what the look like). ATV Polaris Starter and Fan Failure

On an ATV trip I encountered a failing starter and overheating problem due to a failed fan. I jumped the starter solenoid to get it running but I had to stop every 3 miles or so to let it cool down. It took some research but I found the problem was due to a failing circuit breaker that is not in the fuse box. I hope this information might help someone else.

Thermistor for measuring/controlling temperature

04:51
All about thermistors for measuring and controlling temperature, including how to use the thermistor that's in an automobile coolant temperature sensor. I talk about the difference between Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors and Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistors. I talk briefly about my experiment to test if cold water boils faster than hot water and then talk about the effect of the thermistor's changing resistance on the electrical current running through a PC fan, to turn the fan on and off. I go over the electrical circuit for it in detail, incuding the homemade power supply, thermistor, PC fan and wiring. This video has correct English captions.
