This is Part 2 in my series about the creation and application of a Succulents Repeat Pattern Collection. In this video, I will show you how to use our previously created vector elements of cute succulents in pots and use them to create a repeat pattern collection in Adobe Illustrator CC 2015 featuring 6 repeat patterns and 2 horizontal repeat borders. You will learn in this video tutorial how to create vector repeat pattern collection with succulents in Adobe Illustrator and how to design a fabric collection in Adobe Illustrator CC.
Let's begin!
Step 1: Create our main succulent repeat pattern design.
I expand all the elements that we created in video Part 1 and create a scattered composition on white background. I also add fun geometric shapes to add a playful abstract element to our seamless pattern design.
Step 2: I create 5 more repeat pattern designs using the succulent plant elements and geometric shapes to match my main repeat pattern:
1) Scalloped geometric print.
2) Geometric scattered shapes print.
3) Growing succulents blue scattered repeat texture.
4) Colorful succulent plants in stripes.
5) Light green succulent organic texture.
Step 3: I create 2 horizontal repeating borders patterns to match the collection.
Done! :) The base for our repeat pattern collection is ready! :) Yay!

In this video in Hindi we discussed about hpw surface area is a vector quantity. Surface area is a vector quantity in physics and its direction at a point is considered to be the direction of the normal at that point. The magnitude of the surface vector is what we normally consider in mensuration. When the surface is a plane surface, it has two directions, opposite to each other. For a certain situation we consider any of the directions, and, of course, we can not consider the other one as direction for that situation. For a curved surface the surface has infinitely many directions. So we consider an infinitesimal surface, so that the surface would have only one direction. Well! why only one direction and why not two? Because when the surface is curved the direction is considered to be outward normal.

This is Part 1 in my series about the creation and application of a Succulents Repeat Pattern Collection. In this video, I will show you how to create vector elements for succulents repeat pattern collection in Adobe Illustrator CC 2015. You will learn in this tutorial How To Draw Vector Succulents For Repeat Pattern Collection in Adobe Illustrator.
Let's begin!
Step 1: Research on Pinterest. Find photos of succulent plants in pots(https://www.pinterest.com/oksancia/pins/) I show you how to research pattern ideas on Pinterest.
Step 2: Rough sketches of succulents and their pots directly in vector in Adobe Illustrator CC using my Wacom Intuos 4 (https://www.wacom.com/en-es/products/pen-tablets/intuos-pro) tablet and a pen. I show here how to draw succulents plants in Adobe Illustrator
Step 3: Line art - creating outlines and details of the succulents and pots based on my sketches using Blob Brush and Brush tools. I expand the line art and merge the shapes for coloring.
Step 4: I fill the background shape of each succulent plant with a different color using a color palette I chose inspired by natural colors of the succulents: blues and greens. I then add some highlights and shadows to the elements.
Step 5: I create the pots and embellish them with some simple doodle tribal geometric inspired patterns.
Done! :) Our elements are ready to play and be used in the main repeat and a few coordinating repeats which I will show in Part 2 and Part 3 of this series, so stay tuned.

Linear Algebra on Khan Academy: Have you ever wondered what the difference is between speed and velocity? Ever try to visualize in four dimensions or six or seven? Linear algebra describes things in two dimensions, but many of the concepts can be extended into three, four or more. Linear algebra implies two dimensional reasoning, however, the concepts covered in linear algebra provide the basis for multi-dimensional representations of mathematical reasoning. Matrices, vectors, vector spaces, transformations, eigenvectors/values all help us to visualize and understand multi dimensional concepts. This is an advanced course normally taken by science or engineering majors after taking at least two semesters of calculus (although calculus really isn't a prereq) so don't confuse this with regular high school algebra.

An expression vector, otherwise known as an expression construct, is usually a plasmid or virus designed for protein expression in cells. The vector is used to introduce a specific gene into a target cell, and can commandeer the cell's mechanism for protein synthesis to produce the protein encoded by the gene. The plasmid is engineered to contain regulatory sequences that act as enhancer and promoter regions and lead to efficient transcription of the gene carried on the expression vector.[1] The goal of a well-designed expression vector is the production of significant amount of stable messenger RNA, and therefore proteins. Expression vectors are basic tools for biotechnology and the production of proteins, for example insulin which is important for medical treatments of diabetes.
An expression vector has features that any vector may have, such as an origin of replication, a selectable marker, and a suitable site for the insertion of a gene such as the multiple cloning site. The cloned gene may be transferred from a specialized cloning vectors to an expression vector, although it is possible to clone directly into an expression vector. The cloning process is normally performed in Escherichia coli, and vectors used for protein expression in organisms other than E.coli may have, in addition to a suitable origin of replication for its propagation in E. coli, elements that allow them to be maintained in another organism, and these vectors are called shuttle vector.

An expression vector must have elements necessary for protein expression. These may include a strong promoter, the correct translation initiation sequence such as a ribosomal binding site and start codon, a strong termination codon, and a transcription termination sequence. There are differences in the machinery for protein synthesis between prokaryotes and eukaryotes, therefore the expression vectors must have the elements for expression that is appropriate for the chosen host. For example, prokaryotes expression vectors would have a Shine-Dalgarno sequence at its translation initiation site for the binding of ribosomes, while eukaryotes expression vectors would contain the Kozak consensus sequence.
The promoter initiates the transcription and is therefore the point of control for the expression of the cloned gene. The promoters used in expression vector are normally inducible, meaning that protein synthesis is only initiated when required by the introduction of an inducer such as IPTG. Protein expression however may also be constitutive (i.e. protein is constantly expressed) in some expression vectors. Low level of constitutive protein synthesis may occur even in expression vectors with tightly controlled promoters.

After the expression of the gene product, it is usually necessary to purify the expressed protein. However, separating the protein of interest from the great majority of proteins of the host cell can be a protracted process. To make this purification process easier, a purification tag may be added to the cloned gene. This tag could be histidine (His) tag, other marker peptides, or a fusion partners such as glutathione S-transferase or maltose-binding protein. Some of these fusion partners may also help to increase the solubility of some expressed proteins. Other fusion proteins such as green fluorescent protein may act as a reporter gene. Trigger Types. A DML trigger is fired by a DML statement, a DDL trigger is fired by a DDL statement, a DELETE trigger is fired by a DELETE statement, and so on. An INSTEAD OF trigger is a DML trigger that is defined on a view (not a table). The database fires the INSTEAD OF trigger instead of executing the triggering DML statement. For more information, see Modifying Complex Views (INSTEAD OF Triggers). A system trigger is defined on a schema or the database. A trigger defined on a schema fires for each event associated with the owner of the schema (the current user). A trigger defined on a database fires for each event associated with all users. A simple trigger can fire at exactly one of the following timing points : Before the triggering statement executes. After the triggering statement executes. Before each row that the triggering statement affects. After each row that the triggering statement affects. A compound trigger can fire at more than one timing point.
