5 Star Food & Drink in West Hollywood - The Sunset Strip

01:05
We've rounded up 5 amazing food spots on the world-famous Sunset Strip that we think you are going to love! Daikokuya - Look no further than Daikokuya for delicious ramen and more! Ivory on Sunset - Sitting on a hillside with a spectacular view of the city, Ivory is Mondrian Hotel's restaurant, and conveniently a whisper away from Skybar. Two for one! Carney's - If you don't know, now you know: Carney's is the coolest spot on the Sunset Strip for a good old-fashioned chili dog. No regrets! Tocaya Organica - These guys call themselves "modern organic Mexican", and boy, do they make a mean margarita. They do serve a variety of dishes with meat, but they also provide an abundance of options for vegans, vegetarians, and those that are gluten-free! Boa Steakhouse - We've heard Boa called a 'sophisticated hot spot', and 'the place to see and be seen while ordering the “40 Day” Dry Aged New York Strip'. May we suggest: Bring a date. Order the cake.

Sunset strip is a stretch of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood that are home to some of the worlds most famous Rock clubs such as Roxy, Rainbow and Whisky a Go Go. This is where band as the Doors, Van Halen and Motley Crue started their career. The Tower Records close to these clubs held a great number of record release parties up until it was closed. There's of course lots of other establishments such as restaurants and stores. In the eastern part of the strip lies the Riot House, the nick name of Hyatt on sunset where Led Zeppelin made rock'n'roll history in the 70's. Across the street is the House of Blues close to the place where every star in the world did their tattoos in the last 80's and early 90's (Cher, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Guns n Roses etc). Sunset Boulevard, Part 20: Fairfax Ave. To Laurel Canyon Blvd., Hollywood

06:23
This is episode 20 in my Walk to the Ocean via Sunset Blvd. A very short section but plenty to see. Sunset Boulevard is a boulevard in the central and western part of Los Angeles County, California that stretches from Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Coast Highway at the Pacific Ocean. Approximately 22 miles in length, the boulevard roughly traces the arc of mountains that form part of the northern boundary of the Los Angeles Basin, following the path of a 1780s cattle trail from the Pueblo de Los Angeles to the ocean. From Downtown Los Angeles, it heads northwest, to Hollywood, through which it travels due west for several miles before it bends southwest towards the ocean. It passes through or near Echo Park, Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Holmby Hills. In Bel-Air, Sunset Boulevard runs along the northern boundary of UCLA's Westwood campus. The boulevard continues through Brentwood to Pacific Palisades where it terminates at the Pacific Coast Highway intersection. The boulevard has curvaceous winding stretches, and can be treacherous for unaware drivers in some sections. It is at least four lanes wide along its entire route. Sunset is frequently congested with traffic loads beyond its design capacity.

Los Angeles Driving Tour: Sunset Blvd from West Hollywood all the way to the Pacific Ocean(PCH) 2017

Los Angeles Driving Tour: Sunset Blvd from West Hollywood all the way to the Pacific Ocean (PCH)201 GTA V drive around Los Angeles: http://amzn.to/2oyfSLn Skyline Sunglasses Los Angeles: http://amzn.to/2p2xAY9 Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Driving video game: http://amzn.to/2ozEPFb You don't see people use this scenic route too often because it's kind of curvy and some other routes can save you a few minutes. But this is the route you have to take and experience at least once in your life. While you're still in West Hollywood, on the Sunset strip, there is no way to imagine, that Sunset Blvd can turn into a beautiful non-commercial strut in just a minute drive west of West Hollywood. Then you drive among nice Beverly Hills mentions, which all have nice landscape on any side of their perimeter, you kind of get use to go curve by curve and guessing what you will see behind the next turn. Then you hit Bel Air, California, which is Los Angeles jurisdiction, they are not separate city, like Beverly Hills, they have the same LAPD service, like the rest of Los Angeles. All houses in Bel Air big lots have big yards and square footage. The price of a home starts at $15 million in Bel Air. It's on the right, and the streets that take you there have beautiful gates, but they are open. Bel Air goes up to the hills, on the right, and on the left, down the hill, is UCLA, with their nice and wide spread campus. Then you cross the I-405 Freeway and drive through Brentwood, home of OJ Simpson. There is a few canyons, that take you down to the ocean from Sunset Blvd, but you keep rolling along and out of nowhere there it is, Pacific Ocean! There is Gladstone's Fish restaurant and lots of parking along the beach, and that is the place that some surfers love to use. Although the shore is rocky in that place, the waves must be better than on the other beaches. Let's turn left on Pacific Coast Highway and drive for a bit, there is Santa Monica City with the pear from Forrest Gump movie and with Bubba Gump restaurant right on the pier. But before you get there, you pass some nice beaches with lot Then you keep going and hit the traffic light that says "California Incline" and take left. You are on the Ocean Ave and California Ave in Santa Monica City. Due in part to an agreeable climate, Santa Monica became a famed resort town by the early 20th century. The city has experienced a boom since the late 1980s through the revitalization of its downtown core, significant job growth and increased tourism. The Santa Monica Pier remains a popular and iconic destination. Hundreds of movies have been shot or set in part within the city of Santa Monica.[92] One of the oldest exterior shots in Santa Monica is Buster Keaton's Spite Marriage (1929) which shows much of 2nd Street. The comedy It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) included several scenes shot in Santa Monica, including those along the California Incline, which led to the movie's treasure spot, "The Big W". The Sylvester Stallone film Rocky III (1982) shows Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed training to fight Clubber Lang by running on the Santa Monica Beach, and Stallone's Demolition Man (1993) includes Santa Monica settings. Henry Jaglom's indie Someone to Love (1987), the last film in which Orson Welles appeared, takes place in Santa Monica's venerable Mayfair Theatre. Heathers (1989) used Santa Monica's John Adams Middle School for many exterior shots. The Truth About Cats & Dogs (1996) is set entirely in Santa Monica, particularly the Palisades Park area, and features a radio station that resembles KCRW at Santa Monica College. 17 Again (2009) was shot at Samohi. Other films that show significant exterior shots of Santa Monica include Fletch (1985), Species (1995), Get Shorty (1995), and Ocean's Eleven (2001). Richard Rossi's biopic Aimee Semple McPherson opens and closes at the beach in Santa Monica. Iron Man features the Santa Monica pier and surrounding communities as Tony Stark tests his experimental flight suit.  History of Santa Monica, California Santa Monica was long inhabited by the Tongva people. Santa Monica was called Kecheek in the Tongva language. The first non-indigenous group to set foot in the area was the party of explorer Gaspar de Portolà, who camped near the present-day intersection of Barrington and Ohio Avenues on August 3, 1769. Named after the Christian saint Monica, there are two different accounts of how the city's name came to be. One says it was named in honor of the feast day of Saint Monica (mother of Saint Augustine), but her feast day is May 4. Another version says it was named by Juan Crespí on account of a pair of springs, the Kuruvungna Springs (Serra Springs), that were reminiscent of the tears Saint Monica shed over her son's early impiety In Los Ang This is a Los Angeles California driving tour channel. It extends from West Hollywood's eastern border with Hollywood at Havenhurst Drive, to its western border with Beverly Hills at Sierra Drive. The Strip is probably the best-known portion of Sunset, embracing boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs, and nightclubs that are on the cutting edge of the entertainment industry. It is also known for its trademark array of huge, colorful billboards. History Edit Laugh Factory Whisky a Go Go As the Strip lies outside of the Los Angeles city limits and was an unincorporated area under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles, the area fell under the less-vigilant jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Department rather than the heavy hand of the LAPD. It was illegal to gamble in the city, but legal in the county. This fostered the building of a rather wilder concentration of nightlife than Los Angeles would tolerate. 1920s Edit In the 1920s a number of nightclubs and casinos moved in along the Strip, which attracted movie people to this less-restricted area; alcohol was served in back rooms during Prohibition. 1930s and 1940s Edit Glamour and glitz defined the Strip in the 1930s and the 1940s, as its renowned restaurants and nightclubs became a playground for the rich and famous. There were movie legends and power brokers, and everyone of significance danced to stardom at such legendary clubs as Ciro's, the Mocambo and the Trocadero. Some of its expensive nightclubs and restaurants were said to be owned by gangsters like Mickey Cohen and Bugsy Siegel, earning the Strip a place in Raymond Chandler's 1949 Philip Marlowe novel, The Little Sister. Other spots on the strip associated with Hollywood include the Garden of Allah apartments — Hollywood quarters for transplanted writers like Robert Benchley, Dorothy Parker, and F. Scott Fitzgerald — and Schwab's Drug Store. 1960s Edit By the early 1960s, the Strip lost favor with the majority of movie people, but its restaurants, bars and clubs continued to serve as an attraction for locals and tourists. In the mid-1960s and 1970s it became a major gathering-place for the counterculture — and the scene of the Sunset Strip curfew riots in the winter of 1966, involving police and crowds of beatniks, serving as the inspiration for the Buffalo Springfield song "For What It's Worth." In the 1960s and 1970s the Strip became a haven for music groups. Bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Doors,The Byrds, Love, The Seeds, Frank Zappa, and many others played at clubs like the Whisky a Go Go, the Roxy, Pandora's Box and the London Fog. In July 1965 Go-Go dancers also began performing. The Hyatt West Hollywood (now known as the Andaz West Hollywood) became a notable hotel. 1970s In 1972, Rodney Bingenheimer's English Disco opened on the Strip, being influenced by the British Glam Rock movement. It became a popular hangout for musicians, including The Stooges and the New York Dolls.[2] The 1979 Donna Summer song "Sunset People" from the album Bad Girls, was about the nightlife on Sunset Boulevard. Also, throughout the 1970s, much like New York City's Times Square, the Strip became a haven for sleaze and prostitution. The Strip continued to be a major focus for punk rock and new wave during the late 1970s, and it became the center of the colorful glam metal and heavy metal scenes throughout the 1980s, hosting groups including Van Halen, Stormer, Mötley Crüe, Quiet Riot, Ratt, Poison, L.A. Guns, Guns N' Roses and Whitesnake. 1980s Edit With the increase in rents in the area during the 1980s and the decline of the glam metal scene in the early 1990s, the Sunset Strip ceased to be a major area for up and coming rock bands without industry sponsorship. The adoption of "pay to play" tactics, where bands are charged a fee to play at clubs, diminished its appeal to groups, other than as an industry showcase. Today the music industry establishment continues to dominate the clubs on the Strip. In November 1984, voters in West Hollywood passed a proposal on the ballot to incorporate

Chateau Marmont - Hotel - West Hollywood - Sunset Blvd - California - Stock Footage

03:28
For more footage please go to http://www.bestshotfootage.com/ Chateau Marmont is a hotel located at 8221 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, California. The hotel was built in 1927 and was modeled loosely after the Château d'Amboise, a royal retreat in France's Loire Valley. The hotel has 63 rooms and suites. In 1926 Fred Horowitz, a prominent Los Angeles attorney, chose the site at Marmont Lane and Sunset Boulevard to construct an apartment building. Horowitz had recently traveled to Europe for inspiration and returned to California with photos of a Gothic Chateau along the Loire River. In 1927 Horowitz commissioned his brother-in-law, European-trained architect Arnold A. Weitzman, to design the seven-story, L-shaped building based on his French photos. When deciding upon a name for the building, Chateau Sunset and Chateau Hollywood were rejected in favor of Chateau Marmont, a name conceived by the small street running across the front of the property.[3] On February 1, 1929, Chateau Marmont opened its doors to the public as the newest residence of Hollywood. Local newspapers described the Chateau as "Los Angeles's newest, finest and most exclusive apartment house ... superbly situated, close enough to active businesses to be accessible and far enough away to insure quiet and privacy." For the inaugural reception, over 300 people passed through the site, including local press.[3] Due to the high rents and inability to keep tenants for long-term commitments during the depression, Fred Horowitz chose to sell the apartment building to Albert E. Smith for $750,000 in cash. The following year, Chateau Marmont was converted into a hotel. The apartments became suites with kitchens and living rooms. The property was also refurbished with antiques from depression-era estate sales.[3] Designed and constructed to be earthquake proof, Chateau Marmont survived major earthquakes in 1933, 1953, 1971, 1987 and 1994 without sustaining any major structural damage. Nine Spanish cottages were built next to the hotel in the 1930s and were acquired by the hotel in the 1940s. Craig Ellwood designed two of the four bungalows in 1956, after he completed Case Study Houses.[4] On March 24, 1976, Chateau Marmont was named one of Los Angeles' Historical-Cultural Landmarks

It starts with Santa Monica Blvd, known for dance clubs, that still play disco music, unlike the rest of Los Angeles, it has a green island between west and east fruffic lines, that displays ever changing art expositions, that are sculptures made to be moved from one place to another by some artists, lots of green salad food places and some reality TV places, that were opened to fail on live TV. There is an old Palm restaurant, that use to feed Hollywood celebrities before they moved to more trendy food joints. Right after, there is club Troubadour, that has live music and launched careers of many musicians. From Santa Monica Blvd you will go to Sunset strip, driving up on Doheny Dr, which connects Beverly Hills on the left side with West Hollywood on the right. Sunset strip use to be a desire of weekend nights for all South California just a decade ago. Now it's decorated with rock-and-roll theme and still have some old bars, like Rainbow and whiskey gogo. Most of the old attractions are getting demolished to give room to huge multi storey buildings. Unfortunately, we got stock in traffic congestion and didn't reach to the part of the strip, that hosts Skybar from movie Old Scoop and couldn't take last glimpse on House of Blues, that is empty for a few months and will be demolished any day, to give room for another multistorey building. We might finish this ride some other day or night. Watch sunset Blvd tour in the rainy night here: https://youtu.be/OMU7-EhmHVw This is Los Angeles dash cam channel. Subscribe!

Suge Knight Shot at Chris Brown Party 1OAK Sunset Blvd / West Hollywood

10:11
www.loudlabs.com WEST HOLLYWOOD -Death Row Records founder Marion ``Suge'' Knight was the apparent target of a gunman who shot him and two other people at a party at a Sunset Strip nightclub before the MTV Video Music Awards, a sheriff's investigator said today. Knight, 49, was shot shortly after arriving at the pre-Video Music Awards party early Sunday morning hosted by singer Chris Brown at the 1OAK nightclub, 9039 W. Sunset Blvd, said Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau. ``Video shows the suspect with a handgun firing at Knight and striking the two other victims who were in his vicinity,'' Corina said after reviewing pictures shot by surveillance cameras.``After the shooting people who were in the club started running for the exits along with the suspect.'' It is believed the gunman, who is being sought, targeted Knight but it is not known whether the other victims were targets or innocent bystanders, Corina said. The shooting was reported on 911 lines at 1:36 a.m. Sunday, said Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau. Knight was struck several times in the stomach and hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and was expected to recover. Witnesses told the celebrity website TMZ that a sheriff's deputy helped Knight to a squad car, where he sat until paramedics arrived. Sheriff's deputies said a 32-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were also wounded. They, too, were expected to recover, although one victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz. ``They were transported to local hospitals and they are expected to recover,'' Hernandez said. 1OAK, also known as One Of A Kind, opened on the Sunset Strip last January, according to its website. Law enforcement sources said a preliminary investigation suggests Sunday’s shooting is connected to gang rivalry and Knight's long-standing connections with Compton’s Bloods gang, the Los Angeles Times reported. Sources told the newspaper that several known members of the Bloods gang were present at the party. Knight is no stranger to gun violence. He was shot in 2005 at a pre-awards party hosted by Kanye West in Miami. And it was Knight who was driving the BMW 750 in which Tupac Shakur was shot and killed in Las Vegas in 1996. Knight was struck by bullet fragments in that incident. ``It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes,'' Brown tweeted Sunday.

Driving Downtown - Sunset Strip 4K - USA

Driving Downtown Streets - Sunset Boulevard - Los Angeles California USA - Episode 80. Starting Point: Sunset Boulevard https://goo.gl/maps/ptnEiiYdgjr . The Sunset Strip is the name given to the mile-and-a-half (2.4 km) stretch of Sunset Boulevard that passes through West Hollywood, California. The Strip is probably the best-known portion of Sunset, embracing boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs, and nightclubs that are on the cutting edge of the entertainment industry. It is also known for its trademark array of huge, colorful billboards. Cultural Aspects: The Sunset Strip portion of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood has been famous for its active nightlife at least since the 1950s. In the 1970s, the area between Gardner Street and Western Avenue was a center for street prostitution. Shortly after a well publicized June 1995 incident, police raids drove out the majority of prostitutes on the Boulevard. Part of Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood is also sometimes called "Guitar Row" due to the large number of guitar stores and music industry-related businesses, including the recording studios Sunset Sound Studios and United Western Recorders. The portion of Sunset Boulevard that passes through Beverly Hills was once named Beverly Boulevard. At 4334 W. Sunset Boulevard, lies the wall featured on the cover of the late singer-songwriter Elliott Smith's 2000 album, Figure 8. Since Elliot's death in 2003, the wall has become a mural for the artist where fans have left many personal messages over the years. Sunset Boulevard, Part 24: Holloway To San Vincente, The Strip, West Hollywood

05:35

House of Blues is a chain of live music concert halls and restaurants in major markets throughout the Skyline Sunglasses Los Angeles: http://amzn.to/2p2xAY9 Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Driving video game: http://amzn.to/2ozEPFb United States. House of Blues' first location, in Cambridge's Harvard Square, was opened in 1992 by Isaac Tigrett, co-founder of Hard Rock Cafe, and Dan Aykroyd, co-star of the 1980 film The Blues Brothers. Overview The first House of Blues opened on November 26, 1992, in the Harvard Square commercial district and retail area of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company was originally financed by Dan Aykroyd, Aerosmith, Paul Shaffer, River Phoenix, James Belushi, and Harvard University, among others. This original location has since closed. In 1999, House of Blues acquired Universal Concerts from Seagram. On July 5, 2006, Live Nation acquired House of Blues. As a division of Live Nation, the company currently operates 11 clubs throughout North America, with its location in Atlantic City (closed August 2014 along with Showboat Atlantic City) being franchised. The iconic Sunset Strip location in West Hollywood, CA closed in July 2015; a new location has not been found. Nine of these locations also feature the VIP membership club, Foundation Room.
