After tonight's episode, I watched so many YouTube trailers and promos for this show and then I came here. And reading all the comments on all these videos (including this one) I noticed that there was something I kept seeing: people complaining about this show just because there was an Australian version of it first. Everyone is complaining that this is a rip off and everyone is mad and pointing out that Australia did it first. UMMM... First of all its really frustrating and annoying when you start seeing the same comment OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Okay, Australia did it first. We get it! But, so what?! It's not like as if this is the first time EVER in the history of television that a show has aired in another country as a remake or another version of an already created show. This happens on TV ALL THE TIME!!! The list of shows that have been created in one country and then brought to another country is ENDLESS. It is so ridiculous that people are so outraged over this.
And to the jerks who are running around revealing what happens at the end of the Australian version, trying to ruin this one for us - JUST STOP.
So my theory at first was Ben's friend and his oldest daughter maybe were getting busy and maybe the little boy saw them, so the friend killed the little boy to keep it a secret. Now I'm not so sure...
you do know that Juliette's is the only character that would return if there is a season two, and 1/2 way through the season it shifts to Juliette's viewpoint. I read this here: http://nypost.com/2015/03/05/juliette-lewis-dissects-her-shows-secrets-and-lies/
Right, it's a remake of the Australian version of "Secrets & Lies" and appears very similar to Broadchurch (I'm actually watching Broadchurch right now -- lots of parallels!). Even if it isn't completely original, it's fun to see a different take on the story.
Why are you on a video then that has to do with the show, if you hate the show so much? Why are you wasting your time and energy? If you don't like it then don't interact with anything that has to do with it, I don't understand..
Dave is strange and inappropriate energy in the show. He is poor comic relief. He seems too nonchalant for the situation.
Good job afterbuzz team is stating the why(s). My favorite quote from the show: "Did you bring a flashlight?" LOL
I think he does a decent job of lightening the tension every once in a while, it gives us viewers a little break from all the stress (and I think Ben appreciates it too, probably!), but there's definitely something fishy going on with Dave...
Kevin Williams (the neighbour with the lasagne) is definitely my shady suspect of the week. Not only did he make the strong comments at their door, but the show cut to him giving major daggers at Ben multiple times... Either way, I think the show is going to go very 'Desperate Housewives' in the sense that every character has their own secrets and lies that may not necessarily be central to the main whodunnit. Love the after show guys!
I agree! He was suspicious! But also, I think they're intentionally making EVERYONE suspicious. We can't trust anyone. I like what you said there comparing it to Desperate Housewives...totally think little things are going to come out about everyone.
The wife is totally suspicious they are setting us up to think she is framing him but it does seem a little early in the story to be given a straight path to what is really going on. I think Jess said that she got a restraining order on Scott right? So when Ben went and protected her because he was yelling at her in the house. Scott should be sought out and arrested for breaking the restraining order if nothing else. Has to be a reason he is able to be still around and not being center of police investigation. One thing that made me the most mad was the media at Ben's house and in their face constantly. I'm pretty sure they would not be allowed to follow him onto his property like the time they followed him up to his front door. No way that is real world.
Yeah! It's so weird how they aren't focusing more on Scott, but maybe that'll happen next week? I can't imagine Ben doesn't say anything when Scott just showed up in his house like a crazy person serial killer while he was sleeping. I think Christy is suspicious, but my gut is that it's not her, but they're just throwing us a red herring.
Broadchurch-Gracepoint revisited : We already know who did it. It's all over the web. Remake of the 2014 Australian series of the same name. It was shown in the UK and in Canada (where I saw it)
There is no mention from the US production that they changed the ending.
This series didn't need to be redone, as Broadchurch, the original was perfect.
+Terri Pitnick haven't seen the show you're talking about so this plot is new to me. Also much of what we read and see on tv is derived from something else. Other countries remake US stories all the time. I'm loving Secrets and Lies right now. I can't wait for Sunday night.
I haven't watched the original Australian Secrets & Lies, and I don't plan to until the US version is over...so no spoilers! :) I've heard great things about the original series, so we'll see if the US version can deliver in a similar way. The US version will have 10 episodes where I believe the Aussie version had 6...so who knows how they plan to stretch it out more and what they might add, if anything.
A trigger is a named PL/SQL unit that is stored in the database and executed ( fired ) in response to a specified event that occurs in the database.
Overview of Triggers.
A trigger is a named program unit that is stored in the database and fired (executed) in response to a specified event. The specified event is associated with either a table, a view, a schema, or the database, and it is one of the following:
A database manipulation (DML) statement ( DELETE , INSERT , or UPDATE )
A database definition (DDL) statement ( CREATE , ALTER , or DROP )
A database operation ( SERVERERROR , LOGON , LOGOFF , STARTUP , or SHUTDOWN )
The trigger is said to be defined on the table, view, schema, or database.
A DML trigger is fired by a DML statement, a DDL trigger is fired by a DDL statement, a DELETE trigger is fired by a DELETE statement, and so on.
An INSTEAD OF trigger is a DML trigger that is defined on a view (not a table). The database fires the INSTEAD OF trigger instead of executing the triggering DML statement. For more information, see Modifying Complex Views (INSTEAD OF Triggers).
A system trigger is defined on a schema or the database. A trigger defined on a schema fires for each event associated with the owner of the schema (the current user). A trigger defined on a database fires for each event associated with all users.
A simple trigger can fire at exactly one of the following timing points :
Before the triggering statement executes.
After the triggering statement executes.
Before each row that the triggering statement affects.
After each row that the triggering statement affects.
A compound trigger can fire at more than one timing point. Compound triggers make it easier to program an approach where you want the actions you implement for the various timing points to share common data. For more information, see Compound Triggers.
