This is just amaazing!!! Your style is very similar to John Powell in How To Train Your Dragon's soundtrack. This is proper cinema quality :)
Tobias Scheel (21 days ago)

All comes down to how it is presented and the moods you are trying to capture. Either way you have talent. :)

Andrew Rivera man i don't Know! I think my Library is not Suited for this Kind of ehtnical Music...
Andrew Rivera (9 months ago)
Not necessarily. But I do like a bit of energy to my music. Not just your regular run of the mill fantasy music. However, if you want to impress me than use a style like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNRCs1FBW5g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aj9X-xf9m0&list=PLZIF5KwSY-Wd7I1zn5fwFGLSlg6iDZ2mT&index=1

I know you have said that you don't think your music is ready for use in movies and tv... But I'm just here to tell you, YOU ARE WRONG!!!! You must pursue this. You have no idea where it could lead, and I suspect that it will lead to the stars!!!
Tobias Scheel (10 months ago)
Anthony Knight such Kind words! :) Thank You very much! I do what i can but its hard to get inside the Business :(

What DAW do you use?
Random channel (4 months ago)
What do you think of fl studio?
Tobias Scheel (10 months ago)
David E. Harris cubase! The best i.m.o! Hans Zimmer does also use it!
Paulo Rego (1 year ago)
Tobias this is a really fun piece! Do you have the entire piece scored before you sequence it all into the DAW or do you write directly into the DAW and discover new ideas/directions as you go along? Nice one!
Paulo Rego (1 year ago)
Tobias Scheel thanks that's cool!
Tobias Scheel (1 year ago)
it depends! some pieces i have written are entirely composed on my piano and later orchestrated in cubase, but this one was indeed very much improvised which explains the lack of continuity ;)
Luis Fletes (1 year ago)
Great job! Question, how do you manage to play so many instruments without affecting CPU? Do you only use one plugin for all the tracks? Then selecting what instrument goes to each individual track?
Luis Fletes (1 year ago)
Tobias Scheel It has 16GB Ram and it is pretty smooth. I haven't tried it with a full orchestra yet. I've done string quartet mixed with other instruments and it's nice. It takes a while to get used to so many instruments and options, almost over whelming.
Tobias Scheel (1 year ago)
how is it going with your macbook? :)
Luis Fletes (1 year ago)
Tobias Scheel Oh wow!! I have a MacBook pro i7. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thank you. Great music btw
Tobias Scheel (1 year ago)
my cpu was almost exploding! literally it used to crash all the time until i decided to buy a new pc last month! Bouncing was the only method to prevent crushing sometimes ...

It sounds great for an animation movie :)
Excellent composition, orchestration & production !
AKoribut (1 year ago)
Great Job. Superb orchestration It catches my ear almost immediately, but the form is the form is so loose that it is pretty hard to follow. I've listened at least 10 times to understand how parts are connected. I don't know if this was your original intention) Nevertheless nice channel. Where is this "Subscribe" button?)
John Paluska (1 year ago)
Perhaps he just needs to slow the tempo down a bit?
AKoribut (1 year ago)
I haven't missed that, if you are talking about this (B A E) little motive. But since it wasn't developed and almost instantly substituted with another one, as I already mentioned it didn't sound familiar being repeated closer to the end during the first listening (at least to me). Please don't take my complaining seriously) I am just an amateur composer and I really like this piece. Such music is rare on youtube, keep on rocking)
Tobias Scheel (1 year ago)
I just noticed that there is in fact a small theme which appears through out the entire piece...almost! Listen to 0:51, the violins! And the part that is played by the viola before before the new part beginns is later played by flutes in the end! hehe
Tobias Scheel (1 year ago)
haha :D yes, you are correct, I didn't work with musical themes very much at this one! If the peace was longer I would work with the themes and modulate them more :) I am currently working on a new piece so stay tuned :)
AKoribut (1 year ago)
I mean a bit different thing. Sequence you wrote was kinda obvious, your music already did this without words) You introduce new themes, interchange them, make them reappear in different disguises... I compose myself and believe me I understand what job you've done) But (in my opinion) you are going way too fast with these things. After several listenings, for example, I realize that the motive that appears closer to the end is this cool dancing tune which was stated earlier. But from the first listening it sounded like something comletely new. But propably I just haven't woken up properly)

Reminds me of August Rush. I love it! Such an amazing sound :D
Ted Anthony (1 year ago)
Tobias Scheel it sounds like August's Symphony or whatever it's called haha which isn't a bad thing xD

Thank you a lot!

If you get a chance can you explain some of the harmonic and rhythmic aspects of this piece..seems in parts there's a lot going on by itself but it all seems to come together..I might not be explaining myself good but I like it and would love to include some of it in my writing!!
Chris Bassartist (1 year ago)
Tobias Scheel no prob I do love listening to your pieces though
Tobias Scheel (1 year ago)
i can't really explain it... Maybe I make another video showing the different sections of the orchestra and what they are playing so you can examine it down to what you need... But I don't have much time at the moment.
Bikerider12 (1 year ago)
I had so much fun listening to all of your music! Music like this is why I recently started to get into creating my own. (Sadly I'm not really good at it quite yet XD) Keep up the amazing work!
Tobias Scheel (1 year ago)
Thank you very much! Keep making music!
